i dont understand leatherface, help me
i am so confused about leatherface. i havent had the game for a while, i only have 110 hours and im a rank 8 survivor.
imo, his power sounds worthless on paper, like a budget billy. HOWEVER in every single game i get into with a leatherface, he ends up getting a 4k every time. even in a 4 stack in swf, even trying to fake bbq chili, we still lose. i honestly dont get how he does so well, please explain what im missing here

Sounds like your team mates are potatos. Leatherface is once of the weakest killers in the game. His power is only useful for playing defensively ie hookcamping. Any competent team can run his ass into the ground. The trick is to avoid running into the open where he can make quick work with his chainsaw sweep. Stay near objects, walls and buildings and he is basically an m1 killer with nothing else going for him.

I find that most survivors underestimate him 90% of the time. He isn't that weak, he just has some flaws like most mid-low tier killers. However he also has some very good pros that give him an advantage against altruistic survivors.
Basically most of the time when someone sees a leatherface they assume it's a noob. So they try stupid jukes and horrible saves that ends up getting them snowballed.3 -
Most Leatherface players have to get really good at the fundamentals of the game, you know, the stuff every base killer can do, because his chainsaw doesn't do much. As long as you have a window near you you're basically immune to it. Leatherfaces, and this is a generalized statement because I've seen some braindead Leatherfaces, but Leatherfaces are typically the best at basic mindgames because it's all he has.

This can be used best if you use other survivors as bait on a hook.In general LF is quite weak sadly

The biggest problem against a leatherface is people trying to hid behind rocks or trees. If hes near and you think theres more than 25% chance he knows where you are you should run and buy time.
Try to bait his chainsaw near pallets. When he revs it up dont throw it down but make another lap.
just dont crouch and hide.

As said earlier, a lot of people underestimate leatherface. Yes, he is on the lower tier of killers, but he still has the potential to kill a group that taker stupid risks because “it’s a leatherface”.
In your game, did someone get a basement hook? They are hard to deal with when it’s a different killer, but can be VERY dangerous with a leatherface. One chainsaw sweep on the stairs and you’re going on the hook with the person you just rescued.
Morale of the story? Don’t underestimate any killer. It’ll be a quick trip to hook city.1 -
so, heres a little tutorial to Leatherface, alias Bubba.
Bubba himself is a very basic killer.
115% mms and 36 m Terrorradius.
he is also a killer from the "defender" cathegory, which means his big strength lies in defending his hooks.
hookrush a LF means certain death.
walking into the basement against LF is also VERY risky. always make sure there is only one survivor going to rescue, so Bubba cant get multiple ppl with his chainsaw.
now to his weaknesses: Bubba SUCKS at map pressure. it is literally non existant. also, his chainsaw is only good at defending. in chases, its mostly useless. however, if he manages to catch you in a open field, its over for you.
here is how you should play when facing him:
-do not stay in a group, always be solo
-make sure to have a window / pallet around you to escape and force him mto M1 you
-do not hookrush
-do not get downed near the basement
-genrush him. he cant get from A to B very fast
-if he starts using his chainsaw, keep running and dont use the pallet, otherwise its gonna be destroyed asap. however, bubbas chainsaw charge slows him down enough to give you a free loop.there you go ^^
i hope you can use some of these tipps to survive next time (:1 -
thanks everyone for the help, its alot better than most other people telling me 'he knows where you are because of bbq chili'. that plus i lean towards more altruistic perk builds.
