Hatch challenges are driving me insane with the current state of hatch

The title. Hatch challenges are a huge headache right now.
There's two ways to guarantee you'll have access to hatch in a game; immerse and never do anything that puts you at risk, leaving your teammates to die whenever possible so that you guarantee that you're last one standing, or play well and make it to the end of the game. I have enough respect for my teammates not to take the first road, but god is it tempting sometimes.
Because the second is actually worse for the challenge, and not because the killer can walk around and close the hatch or anything. That's a risk, but by far the lesser one. The big issue? Your teammates.
Previously, when you made it to the endgame, you could wander around the map and seek out hatch while other people went for the gates - earlier if a teammate had died. You could then hang around the spot it spawned in. You could also bring a key if you really wanted to make sure you'd get your opportunity, and nothing short of dying before hatch appeared could stop you. The hatch update nixed all that; hatch will only spawn once you're the last person existing in trial.
Except survivors never want to leave.
I have the same issue with the 'survive while other players escape' challenge, but hatch is much worse. There's two reasons for this. One is that survivors won't leave unless the killer chases them out because they want to tbag them. The other is that they mistakenly want to help the last survivor and won't leave until everyone is accounted for. But either way, they prevent the hatch from spawning, and typically, by the time the last survivor has been driven out the gates, there's less than a minute remaining in the trial. This was enough time to jump into the hatch in the past, but it's not enough time to locate the hatch unless you brought a hatch offering - even Left Behind won't be good enough unless you get lucky. And even then, I've still been robbed of the opportunity by teammates refusing to leave until the literal last second for no actual reason, or the killer swinging by the hatch spawn location while the other survivor waited in the gates. Hatch offerings are more dangerous than randomly finding hatch used to be, because the killer can see the offering and has reason to check the location, or even camp it.
Like, with the way both the mechanic and the culture currently work, it's easier to get hatch from a killer being nice to you than it is to be able to get it on your own without the help of a SWF. That's incredibly stupid.
I really hope they stop making hatch/key challenges now that the mechanic has become this situational. That or just make the hatch spawn once the gates are powered. There's no reason not to; the big issue with hatch was the 3-gen escape, not people dipping out once the gates were already powered anyway.

When there is a hatch challenge SWF is the way to complete it :-)

That's why I don't even try with the hatch challenges. They're too frustrating to deal with.

I used clairvoyance to complete it and it works really well if you are in a pinch.

The fact that there's challenges that soft require you to play with a friend group in order to get them is terrible. SWF should not be mandatory.
(And hatch still isn't as bad as Dark Senses...)
I just find it deeply obnoxious that I can't get a challenge done solely because of my teammates' insatiable, compulsive lust to butt dance in the killer's face.

That's actually quite a nice idea, thanks! Not as limited in range as Left Behind and doesn't eat up an item supply.

Additionally, the hatch is a very obvious aura color and if you have a key it doesn't take long at all to locate it and immediately move to it if the killer happened to close it. But with 64 meters you'll find it way faster assuming the killer doesn't get lucky xD.

They really shouldn't add anymore hatch challenges for either side since the change in hatch mechanic. Too many variables are needed to go in your favor to complete it.

I don't even know why they mode those challenges. All it does is encourage staying hidden in the corner of the map the whole time.

I love how this is something killers have complained for years that survivors will always and I mean always hang around until the very last second or they are forced out just to drop a few bags on a killer
And typically we'd get responses like just force them out or ignore the bm it's pixels moving on a screen
But now that it's a survivor problem suddenly it's a problem
I love this community sometimes

...? I complain about this kind of behavior constantly from the killer side. I play 50/50 but I identify more with killer issues than I do survivor ones.
It doesn't have to be an either/or. Some things are just crap.

Oh I wasn't saying you specifically don't take offense to it or feel targeted I just find it funny how countless threads have been made on this topic with exactly what I said being said and a conclusion never being reached
But you aren't the first person I've seen complain about the hatch changes (again no offense not personal just being honest) so I find it funny that now people complain about the bm
I understand that you probably share the same opinion I have on issues with the game I'm just saying I found it funny

Some challenges just require luck.
Like trying to get 4 dead in the basement.
And the hatch change is fine, it was god awful horribad to do everything right in a game and be cheated by a key.

My new favorite thing with this challenge is that the couple times I’ve found the challenge I couldn’t even get out bc the Killer blocked it. The challenge should be removed, period.

Hatch challenges are a pain now. So many times I just need to find hatch but teammates love to tbag to the very second for some reason

If your on pc you can ask your teammates to leave earlier for hatch in the lobby.
But yeah they should probably not bother anymore with hatch challenges.

Oof, i feel you. it took me several games just to finally get the Alert challenge, where you escape through the hatch with that perk. If you're stuck on that challenge specifically, I'd recommend running iron will, Alert (obviously), left behind, and adrenaline in case you're injured and the killer closes the hatch.
