Was This Toxic?

I had Spirit today. I and one survivors spawned together. And while we are running to gen, we found her hex totem. But killer saw us and then she tried protect totem. When she chase one of us, other tried cleanse it. And she never left totem. And then 2 gens finished by other survivors and she dc'ed.

She was angry at end game chat. And called us as baby survivors. She said game is carrying us. I am not saying this game is balanced but Spirit is pretty strong killer and she had really good build. What we had to do here, leave totem alone?

    Nothing.

    Play to win.

I don't play to make friends, i only play to find victims.

There is nothing toxic here. The killer wanted to play with the hex totem, but he had no luck with its location. And he is extremely offended.

And there are no questions for you. This is the problem of hex totems and their defenselessness at the beginning of the match.

In this game anything can be toxic if you want it to be.

They weren't being toxic in game - however they were pretty tilted by the end game chat and likely said some potentially toxic things there.

So no, the gameplay wasn't toxic; but the end game chat may have been a different story.

The game does get to people sometimes, but stories like these are just a reminder to take a deep breath before hopping into the chat. 💗

Hopefully your next end game chats will be more positive.

Just a Killer who does not understand the game. Many of those out there.

There is 0 point in protecting your Ruin if you dont chase players off Gens. This is what the Spirit did - so she still had her Ruin, but it did not what it was supposed to do, because she only stayed at the totem.

Her fault, nothing toxic here. Neither trying to do Totems nor doing Gens is toxic.

(But "toxic" is such an overused phrase anyway. Everything is toxic nowadays, it became a generic word for "things someone does not like")

I don't know how effective it is to protect the totem, But i know it's better not to rely on them.

If and by chance her totem were on one side of the map and she hooked a Survivor very close to the area so she can protect several things at once, i think this could help her a little bit.

I had a similar game, I tried to protect my totem instead of giving it up and catch the Survivors. But i didn't and i lost my game for that.

It is not toxic but annoying to deal with.

Depends on which totem it was, if Ruin then you could stick to the gen while she is around the totem.

If the Killer is over protecting his totem, go for the totem when they are in the chase or about to hook someone. No need to stay glued to the totem and risk the game unless it's Devour Hope 😳
