How to win on Springwood as Killer?
Hello everyone
I was wondering if anyone had any tips or strategies to help win on Springwood, or at least stand a better chance as killer? This is my weakest realm as killer, as it is for many others. So many gens upstairs and downstairs, difficult to patrol effectively, and the Preschool building, get caught there and you'll lose a lot of time.
Are there any methods to make this map less frustrating for killers?

its horrible map. practice and improvise

1) play Nurse
2) profit

Hope the survivors are bad

Don't try and cover all gens, try and 3 gen, especially 3 in the outer lying areas. I let them have the downstairs ones, too much time wasted going to them. Its a fun map imo

Do not chase survivors in certain areas where you could lose too much time. The "House of Pain" and the main building can be quit time consuming. Also the two story house with the window can be a pretty bad spot against good survivors.
Do not break the breakable walls in the main building. Only break wall on the two story house and at the house of pain when needed. Always think about how a survivor will leave a loop: You do not want them to run at any of those structures.
On this map it is very important to know when to drop a chase. Look how the survivor plays and if they know how to abuse the structure, leave them and apply pressure elsewhere. Generators on the street are your friend, protect them more than other generators.
And finally: Always look where your hooks are before you pick-up. Fences and other stuff can mess you up otherwise...
This map is worse than Haddonfield for some people and some Killers...

Just to clarify, the House of Pain in Springwood is the house with the basement?
But thanks for the tips everyone. Yeah I'd rather do Haddonfield than Springwood 😆

It's a dumb, broken and imbalanced map. As a rule:
- The house with the basement, as others have said, is a pseudo-infinite. You have to break the wall, and even then it's annoying as hell.
- Most of the structures are really strong and you can loop a lot of killers there for ages if you do it right. Don't chase people there if they seem good, you will fall behind even if you play it perfectly.
- Stake out 3-4 gens early on and defend them. Preferably ones that are exposed.
- You'll want to break one of the walls in the main structure, as if you don't, survivors that go down in there can potentially be unhookable.
- If someone puts a CoH boon up in one of the houses, you're probably going to lose if you don't have an instadown or the capability of ending chases really fast.
- Try to eliminate one survivor as early as possible. Don't be afraid to camp or tunnel it out.
It's one of a handful of 'you're going to have a bad time' maps, along with Cowshed, Gas Heaven, Cowshed and Haddonfield. Go in hard and mean right from the start.

Yeah, a lot of people complain on and on about Haddenfield, but the Preschool and surrounding houses are actually at least as hard on the killer as that map or worse. It’s also frustrating that if you down someone in the lower level of the main building you might not be able to get a hook unless you kicked out the breakable wall near one of the stairs if the basement isn’t there.

Play top 5 killer with meta build.

You hold a tight three gen situation and see where it goes. Just hope the survivor make game ending mistakes. Unless you're a mobility killer or someone with snowball(One hit downs) every Survivor would reach each problematic areas in the map just by the sole fact that they got injured. The sprint burst from that is crazy forcing you to drop chases and with the addition of Boons it just turns into a War of attrition where you hope someone mess up badly.

Yes. The house with the basement. This house also spawns on Haddonfun and it's setup is randomized. It can spawn a set-up where you can loop a M1 Killer for a whole game when you know what you are doing but even the worst set-up of this house can be pretty annoying to deal with.
Overall: If the window straight above the stairs where the car stands is not blocked and there is another window creating a "long wall" this structure is almost unplayable for a M1 Killer. If you have bad luck you can even get screwed by hook spawns here too. Which is why it is called the "House of Pain".

Don't bother with main building and house of pain. Find the 4 gen closest to Shack and defend it.
1 -
3-gen away from any buildings if possible.
Bringing a shotgun may help as well.

I play this map along with other terrible maps (all except midwich/shelter woods) by controlling 1 half of the map and thats it.

Springwood is not as unbalanced as most people make it out to be, or at least it didn't use to be.
The key is the ALWAYS avoid committing to a Survivor that can clearly keep you busy for a long time, especially in the powerful buildings that this map has to offer.
As long as you manage your time properly, you should be mostly fine.
1 -
Naw my friend its the 2nd maybe 3rd most unbalanced map in the game. Tbf you probably think this because you have not played in some time mixed with the fact your main can teleport to gens. Feel free to correct me if you are back playing.

The map is all about making the killer lose the only reason you can win in that map its if survivor sucks nothing you can do as a killer

Nah, it is just that Springwood means a lot to me.
Its original version, back when there was just one, was and always will be my second-favorite map in the game, and I purposefully sent myself there many times (one of the reasons why my older characters do not have many Springwood offerings).
I am used to the advantages and disadvantages that map has to offer, and I don't think it is as insane as most people say it is.
At least it did not use to be that way.

Well, that is your opinion.

I understand where you coming from bro.
Freddy was my childhood favorite and the reason I started playing this game. My forum Avatar used to be freddy for like my first year on here.
However like @BrokenSouI said its hot garbage for killer.

Facecamp as Bubba on your first survivor then go onto the next.
1 -
No, it isn't.
Send yourself there a couple of times and you will see.

I have a feeling that you had a lot of experience on this map lol

Bruh.....I play everyday. Perhaps try the map now....perhaps on a killer without teleportation and lmk what you think. Good survivors make this map miserable and beating baby survivors on it means nothing....can do that on any map.

There is a difference between getting a map randomly and actively wanting to go there.
Perhaps if you wanted to play on it, the map would become better for you with each trial.
0 -
Maybe....doubt it though. With me having all killers P3 50 I use a randomizer to determine the killer im using. Still need to collect an assload of perks so I still use bloodpoint offerings. Never knowing what killer I'm going to be using switching all the time I doubt I'll ever feel that the map is not trash. I do like it as Survivor though.

Then...I am sorry, old friend.
There is nothing I can do to help you.

Expose perks are good there. A nurse with Agitation Starstruck will shut down House of Pain shenanigans quickly even on Badham 4.
I always mix up the Badhams but theres 1 or 2 I dont mind. I think the 1st one is ok? And maybe 1 other?

I think the chase music alone is enough to make a believer out of somebody!
That or your art : p

I think I caused that.

Tunnel, camp, slug. If you want to play nice, then pray for 4 newbies.

I'd hit em' with ol' reliable tactic of D/Cing.
(Please keep in mind this is a joke. I am not advising people to D/C, even if it is very temping.)

3 Gen strat with 1 person tunnelled out of the game early
Applies to basically any map though.
1 -
Nr1 play wall hack nurse otherwise she wont win either
Nr2 just go AFK its literally a bulshit map for every killer in dbd even for Hag

That's a great idea. However I haven't come across any shotguns during my time playing. Is this a hidden feature I wasn't aware of? 😂

Notice: What I have said was a joke, and not meant to be taken seriously, moreover, the post in question was not meant to advocate for, make light of, normalize, or justify disconnecting from any matches in any way, shape, or form.

Being very good or having luck facing bad survivors

Hehe thank you. Nice to meet you @TheGannMan 🙂
It's a very difficult temptation to resist on this map 🤣
P.S. thank you everyone who has commented and shared their thoughts.

Isn't the House of Pain in Springwood and Haddonfield?
Also, what is so bad about it?
0 -
Console only feature sorry. One of the few advantages we have...
0 -
On horrible maps like this I try and find a three gen and defend it as best as I can. I tend to get better results doing that than trying to defend the whole map, especially Badham versions 3-5.

You plagiarizing me, bro?

Avoid the buildings, the school, the shack, and the house with the garage. There's a tree area with a bunch of pallets - avoid that too, or make them waste all the pallets there early. This is the same for the park area around the picnic tables. The streets are a pretty good dead zone between tiles.

Nah lol

I was making a joke 😉
