Disappointed to see the bubba masks go
It’s annoying the bubba masks are set to be removed, not because they were amazing cosmetics, it was just cool to have a free set of cosmetics that were unlockable through gameplay. Hopefully the devs add a mask with the 4 survivors faces stitched together, similar to his one in Texas chainsaw 2

I never play bubba so I dont care about the masks.
But the principle was very good and I wish there were more cosmetics like that which we could unlock just by playing certain characters. That would be cool

Yeah, I main bubba and not once did I use them, they were ugly asf but the idea was so cool

I like idea but the way how you unlocked those were bad from start.
It was basically telling you to tunnel specific survivors whenever you see them to unlock it.
But it would be interesting to see even paid cosmetics with some variations that you unlock with some challenges, it's used sometimes in Dota, some of them hard af to get.

100 victims I tunneled and face camped solely based on the character they picked... Such memories will remain even if the spoils fade. Some poor chap was new to the game and didn't understand why I beat him on hook for 2 minutes straight while ignoring his more experienced friends who did everything they could to try and get my attention. He didn't realize that it was never about the friends we made along the way and it was all about wanting to wear his flesh. And also he made fun of the fact that I play Genshin Impact, kind of random, but true.

Stitching the masks together would actually be a really clever idea!
But I agree with Police also on never using the masks after unlocking them. The P3 mask was just better.

I'm completely against the removal of the masks, I feel it sends the wrong message (essentially, giving a lot of power to a handful of mean people in that they now know they can force the removal of something that a lot of people really like by using it in a racially provocative manner) and establishes a dangerous precedent. You've basically surrendered to the trolls and the nasties. It's the bloody 'okay' symbol all over again.
I'd bet that the 'racist Bubba' types are cheering inwardly that their trolling has had a definitive effect on the game itself. If I'd been in charge of this, I'd have MAC banned them and called it a day.
That said...it's not my game, and this isn't a hill I'm willing to die on.

They could be switched out for real peoples' faces, like twitch streamers or bhvr developers.

You’re absolutely correct and they will see it as a great victory. I know the types. This is what they live for.
