Does this mean anything?
All those years, we had Huntress as the dbd background screen on steam. Only recently they changed it to Ghostface, which let's me assume that the changes might come sooner than we think.
Or I am just overspeculating things, which is probably the right answer.

Huh, it's been Huntress for you guys? It's been Trapper for me for ages, and it still is right now.
Regarding the question, though, I think it's because the Ghostface DLC is on sale right now. That being said, there's probably a reason for that sale, so who knows what that is.

They made a gif of him and now he is on sale.
Maybe they're planning something behind the scenes but better not to expect too much.

DBD's Ghostface is a license of the mask, not the movie. The movie also licensed that mask.

Or was it Trapper? Might've been, it was Huntress for so long so it burned into my mind already. But seeing Ghostface there was the first thing I noticed as a change.

Ah okay, I think I understand what you meant now.
Just because it's only the mask, it would still be a missed opportunity. Both the DBD Scream chapter and the upcoming movie can obviously feed off eachother, and since they're not actually related, DBD can do anything they want with the timing of sales. I absolutely believe the sale and the header are premeditated because of the movie.

I feel like it's really strange considering they've only recently teased the Ringu chapter. I'm probably thinking too deeply but I feel like it's more than just a sale.

I'm hoping we get a surprise Ghostface change this midchapter which wasn't in the PTB, but that's probably not gonna happen.
- They're not gonna do a change without a PTB,
- They're not gonna change anything from the PTB anyways (except nerfing stuff even further), so it's wishful thinking.

Best case: GF gets a much needed QoL.
Worst case: just a sale/marketing gig.

Sale probably because of the hype from new movie.

Jokes on BHVR, but I hadn't noticed because I've customised my Steam library with alternate artwork that looks far more visually appealing than the low res Huntress just standing there. 😎
Right now its just low res Nemesis just standing there, but I digress.
