Would you like to see a danganronpa chapter in DBD?
Title.

Not really.

Nah, artstyle doesnt match in the sligthest, the Killer on those games uses comically and elaborated execution methods and I dont think it could translate well into DBD.
2 -
It could be the first chapter with 26 new survivor skins, though.
2 -
The grey guy, that's who I want.

I love Danganronpa but I don't think it really fits DBD. I certainly wouldn't be opposed to it though

god that sounds horrible
yes

Depend are we talking about the anime or the game? I think the character are too good for dbd but that only because im a fan of the series.

Saying the style dont match and thing like is not good. Dont forget we have ugly sweater and pajama

Ngl id be VERY intrested in a dangan chapter, especially to see how the characters/map would look as they would be from a drastically different style

No, we already have a cringy anime killer.
1 -
It would really be down to execution (lol).
A fitting killer would be hard to make. Junko would probably be the best pick for a character. I would love for a mastermind type killer who sets up elaborate traps to kill survivors when they least expect it. Could be a killer who can mori multiple survivors/execute them in different ways if they aren't careful. One that requires manipulating survivors into digging their own graves. Realistically though we would probably just get a guy who sets up snares and hits people.
The school from DR1 would be such a badass and unique map. I love how abrasive and loud danganronpa's style is. And the soundtrack would be like nothing else in the game. Danganronpa's style would be very welcome to dbd's dark and bland world imo.
A survivor would be hard to pick since most of them are in their mid teens. I'd definitely want Kirigiri but that probably wouldn't be possible.

the problem that I have with anime or in cases of games like danganronpa
there style is what really defines them, and danganronpa especially will not transfer to dbd that well
and i dont mean like oh , "everything's so cute". its there 2d 3d clash type style that defines danganronpa
unless you count ultra despair girls

They had a Danganronpa chapter for the doll game that I can't remember the name of right now, so I imagine they'd do something similar. I'm a fan of the Dangan series but a lot of it is a brain game. Unless maybe there's a Monokuma bot running around but that's kinda eh.

Let's give it everything we've got... it's PUNISHMENT TIME!!!

I wanted to say that I really love danganronpa but can't see it executed well in dbd.
And then I read your post and imagined an epic mori, so now I dunno what to think.
1 -
Yeah the power could be holding a trial pitting the survivors against each other and they decide who is guilty of the most sandbagging between the locker dweet, the meg constantly walking everywhere so she doesn't trigger sprint burst, the self-caring claudette or the nea that gets off the gen and urban evasions if she so much as hears a single heartbeat.

Its not about being whacky, its being about Danganronpa are anime characters and DBD "realistic" ones, how do you make any of the Danganronpa into DBD realistic artstyle without destroying the style completely?.

Trickster = Korean, based off of the Pop Music industry and their style of fashion
Anime = Japanese animation
At least try to be close in your ignorance.
1 -
I don't think it'd work, at all, but also I really want a Mondo skin for my gay ass to be happy so yes
1 -
I don't call him anime because of his nationality, I call him anime because of the vibe of his entire design and because of the intro that makes him look like a generic edgy villain, not a scary guy.
If he was American, Russian, Portuguese, British, Filipino and kept that flashy pop-singer look and was introduced in the same animation style, I'd still call him anime because I'll never not find this concept ridiculous for the DbD setting.
1 -
Yes, but only cause it would open the door for other visual novel based chapters

Again, Korean fashion. Just because something isn't covered in gore doesn't mean it isn't horrifying- a killer hiding in plain sight is hardly a comforting thought.

It would suit Identity V far more. However, it may work, but it would have to have a HUGE rework. Like a comparative rework equivalent to Schumacher's Batman turning into Nolan's Dark Knight.
Monokuma would effectively become the puppet from Jigsaw, armed by someone else, or turn it into a horrific animatronic. There'd be a huge rework; more than I feel would be worth the pay-off.

who?
0 -
if only IDV wasn't a janky gacha cesspit
0 -
let alone a killer who isnt in plain sight and is quite literally on top of the world
1 -
game series where poorly written teenagers kill each other
1 -
That is like your opinion. I find story and characters very fun and well written.
0 -
oh i enjoy the games myself, i just think a lot of the writing is very badly flawed. dr1 was the best and even then the entirety of chapter 2 is a total shitshow imo
0 -
One of the best. I still vaguely prefer Zero Escape as a narrative, but Danganronpa is so fun and Junko would be my day 1 main even if she looked like "Stung by the Honeybee" David.
0 -
It would suit Identity V? Oh you mean like this?
They're one step ahead don't worry
1 -
ough, as much as i hate idv the artstyle fits so well with danganronpa's character design

Dr1 and Dr2 were insanely good but V3 was a horrible, terrible game, especially the ending.
1 -
GOD YES, v3's ending just spat in the face of everything the rest of the series built up to, ######### that game
0 -
I have never felt so offended playing a videogame like I felt playing through that last class trial.
The best Danganronpa experience is playing the 2 main games, UDG and watching the Dr3 anime. Forget V3 ever existed.
1 -
Ah yes, the classic asian=anime
2 -
The thing is, he would be a good character for a psychological thriller. But in a game where the plot is literally about people being chased by a horror movie character who looks as unnatural, imposing and threatening as possible? It just doesn't work. It's like adding Patrick Bateman from the "American Psycho" into the game and expecting him to be as scary as Blight or Myers.

If we had to get an anime/manga chapter/paragraph I think Parasyte would fit dbd a little better.
Imagine a Claudette coming to your generator and her face opens up like Demogorgon, that's nightmare fuel right there
0 -
Demodette
1 -
I never knew that! Never played it, but I've read some information of it, and watched a couple of videos. They have some good killer ideas though!
1 -
Whelp, shows how "with it" I am!
1 -
Ah yes, the classic "I know his design is lame and can't argue with that, so I'll pretend it's all about his race".
1 -
I would say yes but I say no because I know the survivor would be Naegi, Komaeda, or some another twink
0 -
When we get Chiaki as the survivor omg
0 -
Tbh I'd be fine as long as it isn't the SDR2 cast Chiaki felt so fan servicy imo and SDR2 felt very like idk rushed in? Until they actually expanded its lore in the anime I feel like they kinda made it cause the first game did so well.
