What ever happened to artist

So when artist came out everyone played her because brand new killer and survivors means achievement time but after a week I got zero I had one yesterday then nothing else I remember this happening with Twins but they weren't what people expected or whatever but Artist isn't OP or impossible to control so what happened.

She is just more of the same, another ranged Killer and they released plenty of those lately so the novelty gets boring fast.

    Combination of a few things.

First she takes a lot of work to play well, which many people don't want to get involved in. They want something simple and effective.

Secondly, when survivors know how to play against her, it's a lot of chasing people running in straight lines. There's not much chance for mindgaming on a killer who should thrive on it, and she has to instead rely on landing long range hits on someone running far away who can easily react to the direction a crow is aimed.

Lastly, it's way too quick to dispel crows. It's part of her skill cap, but if you aren't basically lining up the next crow as soon as one hits, you aren't getting the damage, and it feels very unrewarding to have to swarm a survivor multiple times before one counts as the damaging blow.

Not only is she hard to learn, but when you have this much killers in the game, less and less people are likely to make the switch when they can stick to a killer they already like.

I like artist once in a while, she's fun.

Really like the noises she makes, very disturbing

It's because she's just like every other anti loop killer but with a couple of neat tricks. The problem is her gameplay boils down to the exact same as any other anti loop killer. Sure you can go for the cool little things she can do but that only lasts so long and alot of it isn't really viable at mid to high.

Bhvr keeps releasing the same killer but with a different skin sure it might seem different but the gameplay just ends up the same.

This is the problem with her. The counterplay for exists and is already figured out. Leave tiles she traps, tease the killer into releasing the crows while juking, escape with W while she endures a cooldown. I think she needs buffs to her cooldown, particularly when releasing two crows. Nine seconds is just too high when survivors lose crows in eight or less with a locker.

Plus she is vulnerable to bully squad like behavior. Flashlights burn crows, leaving her in a long cooldown. Teammates can also run through her crows without punishment when she’s chasing another player.

I think reduce crow cooldown by a few seconds for releasing two or three crows and bring back crow bombs. Maybe add additional time to burn crows cause it’s very quick.

It's mostly just regression to the mean. There are 26 killers so the average pick rate for a specific killer is only 1 in 26 games. Unless a killer is significantly more popular than average you're not going to see them more than once ever week or two depending on how often you play.

She's number 3 in the rank of killers I see the most. Maybe it's something regional?

I play her a lot, but this is coming from shelving my Twins that i used to main. I got tired of the never ending nerfs without food for thought.

There's something satisfying for me landing damaging crows from a distance, and being a console player, she's actually viable here.

Just another victim of being a killer with depth and intricacies. You not only have to know survivor pathing and how theyre likely to move around the map, but also timing crow shots so they land at those locations.

Why bother learning all of this in matches of unknown difficulty when you can just stick with the ones you know?

    1. There are not many players to play the killers.

    2. Usually players play mostly their mains like nurse, spirit etc.

    3. Suffers from no mobility, big maps like mother's dwelling really hurts her.

    4. She's eaten by Shift+W players, which promotes the most boring counter.

I love her. I recently finished a personal quest of all killers to P3 50...Im working on a new quest of BBQ on all of them. Once done with that my Artist, Pig, Freddy, Huntress, and Nemesis are going to be unleashed.

She's not all that great or fun to play. But don't worry, according to the forums, if DMS goes to live then every single match will be artist.

DbD has 26 killers. So this mean you will see all killers rare. Maybe top tier killers more.

I had 3 Artists this week. And this is pretty enough. Nemesis, Blight and Huntress are so popular on my games.

She is fun when you can land your crows quite offten or when you damage someone in loops.

She is not that fun when you miss a lot your shots (happends quite offten againts decent Survivors). Also they can just hold W, dodge your crows since you can send only one at a time if you want the damage.

She just is not very good or fun, sadly. Very overrated just because she annoys survivors. It happens a lot, people have very odd opinions on balance, quite frankly. But I guess you cannot expect much with what amounts to basically a party game.

She is anti loop and that's fine. but that is here the interesting part stops. Using her power feels bad thanks to all the slow downs and landing her power isn't rewarding most of the time. It is just one giant yawn fest while playing her.

Still better than a loopable killer with no lethal power though.

Very easy to play and down survivors fast. Her power is stupidly easy and good killers got bored of her very fast.

    I think that's about it.

    I been on a break, I been playing F13🤗

  • Shes a very cool killer and not bad at all for her design but I think most people go back to playing their mains after the hype dies down for a new killer. That or they main survivor and just want to try the killer and see how she plays to learn some of her tricks.

For me, she is not really fun to play. I want to outplay Survivors at Loops. But you dont outplay them with artist, you shut down the Loop, the Survivor leaves it and you catch them eventually because you are faster than them.

And you cant really blame Survivors for holding W, because you cannot expect them to go down at Loops either, when they cannot really use them against her.

It is not really engaging gameplay IMO. Neither for the Artist-player nor for the Survivor. And currently I am not really interested in playing her, despite her needing a lot of Perks to be completed. But I rather enjoy any M1-Killer over her.

She has a high skill ceiling and takes a while to learn, so that can drive players away from playing as her. She's also another anti-loop killer, which there are many of those type of killers in the game already.

But as for my opinion on her, I love playing as her. She's really fun to play as.
