2021 Was Worst Year for DbD
Trickster came with a lot of bugs.
Nemesis came with a lot of bugs and optimization died for consoles & old systems.
Pinhead and NFT drama.
Game became more unbalanced with Boon Totems.
MMR killed fun.
The hacker problem has grown like never before.
DDoS issue.
I hope 2022 would be better.

Mmr really is the worst thing to happen to the game

It's really been a rough year for DbD, huh? — Dead By Daylight
^ (that's a link btw, can't get it embed for some reason)
Man. I made a very similar topic back in Cctober. Looks like things did get worse, huh?

It can always be worse.

The worst year so far.
With any luck the autoban system will come this year. That definitely has the potential to make things even worse.

Idk, I still remember 2019 when the mid-load crashes plagued the game for half a year.
This was back in the days when you had to re-invite your whole lobby after every single game.
Sometimes it would take an hour to get a game. It was the reason most of my friends abandoned the game entirely.

I think you are only reflecting the bad things here and this is just wrong. You should talk about the improvements that were made too to put this into a fair context.
2021 also bought us:
- Hook count for Killers (Allowing some to play for hooks far better)
- Clown Rework (Still weak but now at least fun to play and face)
- Trapper Rework, Add-on pass and Trap change (1/6 chance that increases)
- Wraith Rework
- Hex: Undying Nerf
- Blight Point-of-View adjustment (made him a good killer)
- Added colorblind mode
- Decisive Strike nerf
- Demogorgon changes (bought us the demoboy we love so much now)
- Freddy nerf (was too much reward for too little skill)
- Struggle change (no longer button mashing)
- Key nerf
- Failed Grab to basic attack change
- Pallet and Dead Hard hit validation (yes we sometimes hate it but overall its more fair)
- Pig add-on pass
- Spirit "nerf" (honestly just "Spirit made fair and fun") + add-on pass (finally more than "stat buffs")
- Snowman event
Also I liked the Cenobite. I am a huge fan of Hellraiser and Pinhead is a very good designed Killer in my opinion. He has the feeling, the sounds, has a interesting mechanic in chase that allows counterplay and is interactive and his passive gives a secondary objective that keeps survivors busy and not just playing M1 simulator.
Sure bad things also happened. But lot of good things were implemented too.

Now there are worse days ahead.

2022 says "Hold my beer"

2021 had dizzying highs and terrifying lows.
In June, there were over 100,000 concurrent players on Steam, an all-time record. And that spring, from April to July saw a growth of over 28,000 additional players per day on average, nearly doubling their player base from 2020.
Then, the bad times began. The high spirits of Nemesis were tempered by extreme bugs, the stage had to be disabled for nearly a month, and when the New Car Smell faded, things started plummeting. From August to today, the game has lost over 21,000 active Steam players, hemorrhaging 30% of their users in a long, drawn-out bleed that continued despite the Halloween event, the Christmas event, a host of BP promo codes, and a full month of sign-in bonuses.

Don't worry, it will get worse.
It always gets worse with this game.

And 2021 was my first full year in the DBD community too 😔

Not actually, 2020 was probably best year of DbD (except Twins chapter).

Not in the slightest.

Which year was best? And which year is worse

2018 was the best, and 2021 was the worst.

I agree with half of what you said but 2018 was not best. Mori & keys, unbalanced maps were pretty annoying. :) But thanks for answer.

I'd say 2021 and 2017 were pretty bad

2021 was pretty decent actually.

regarding the clown rework, i'm glad you see that as a positive. but clown is one of my favorite killers, since he came out, and the clown "rework", if you can even call it that, was severely disappointing. it made him more difficult to play (yellow bottles buff survivors for some dumb reason) and barely touched his addons. honestly the only good thing about the whole patch was the movement speed slowdown removal after throwing a bottle, but im pretty sure that wasn't even the rework patch, it was before. clown is still (the most fun imo but also stressful?) one of the worst killers in the game and you really have to sweat to get a good result with him
