A rhyme is when 2 words sound similar to each other. Just because one ends in a T and the other a P doesn't cancel the fact that the phonetic sound makes both words rhyme. A rhyme is still a rhyme, even if the last letter differs, so long as both share a close sound. So they both rhyme... otherwise, "I'm" doesn't rhyme with "rhyme", and we know that does.

Both definitions are for the end of the word. Boop and Snoot and phonetically similar. They really don't rhyme.
Edit: What you're referring to is most likely a slant rhyme. And I really don't think people were going "Boop the Snoot is a slant-rhyme!" I'm pretty sure they just liked the way it sounded phonetically.

So a slant-rhyme is a type of rhyme? Okay, so what I said is still true then in that the words rhyme. It may be an imperfect rhyme, but still deemed a rhyme nonetheless that's recognised in prose and poetry.

Whilst I certainly undertand now that it cannot be considered a perfect rhyme (I have been looking stuff up as we discussed this), it's still recognised as a rhyme, or within the parameters of what can be considered a rhyme, so my point still stands that to say "boop" and "snoot" are rhymes, but in as an imperfect rhyme.
But I appreciate the education, and certainly recognise "fox" and "box" as rhymes.😁
