Should Dead Hard be a one time use?
Dead Hard allows a survivor to reset the chase anew after making a mistake. Current dead hard can be triggered multiple times per match. So... four survivors can all have dead hard, and each one can proc it multiple times. Do you think making dead hard a one time use could be an idea to balance it?
[Lets face it: they won't remove it/ they won't change its nature... because they worked hard to make it actually work. If it has to be changed, it won't be a change in its nature].

Every single Exhaustion perk can be triggered more than once, every single Exhaustion perk has a considerable enough cooldown.
Asking for an Exhaustion perk to be a one-off is killers' equivalent of survivors asking for Devour Hope resetting to 0 stacks after every Mori, Ruin deactivating once the first generator was completed or Scourge Hooks becoming default hook after the first use.

Dead Hard should simply not give you invincibility frames. Being one time use is too much.

Every exhaustion perk can be used more than one time, so making Dead Hard a one time use would make it useless.

Dead Hard definitely needs a nerf in my opinion, but this would just make the perk garbage.

remove exhaustion, make it token based. you gain a token for every unhook. cooldown of 40/35/30 seconds.

Comparing Dead Hard to Adrenaline is like comparing Huntress Lullaby to Pentimento.
The effects are vastly different and activation of one of them you can't even fully control. Dead Hard is a chase perk, Adrenaline isn't.

But both are still exhaustion perks and we have a perk that works once per game. So 1 time use dead hard is not insane idea, it is possible with couple of tweaks

Adrenaline activates passively, when game is over. And its "exhaustion" aspect gives zero value unless you happened to be chasing killer while your teammates finish last gen (which won't happen super frequently, especially in solo). Adrenaline is first and foremost a healing perk.
Dead Hard is a perk that activates not passively, but rather by the player when needed. Unlike Adrenaline, it's a perk that is neither tied to endgame, nor has any other effect aside from the "exhaustion" aspect. Making it a one-off would simply make Dead Hard a useless niche.

I'm fine with Dead Hard as it is, but I find it frustrating at times when it denies me a fair hit (as killer). Maybe keep the invincibility status but add "deep wound" or another negative status effect like BT does?

No, most certainly not. I honestly think if they made it either a "build up" perk after being chased for 10+ then you can use it, or, just remove the I-frames from it, some might say it would be gutted if that was to happen but, you could still use it for massive distance advantage.
