Am i the only one playing at night?

I play survivor 99.9% of the time. and on pc. during the day i have no problem getting a game to start. but after about 6 pm i cant seem to get thrown into a game and dont really have a ton of online friends to play with. Am i the only one who has this issue?

Survivor queues are worse at night in my area. Takes around 5-10 minutes. During the day it’s pretty fast.

Well in the evening hours a lot of people tend to be home from work and free to play games with friends. Survivor is the only side that allows people to queue up with friends. It's also a Friday night so people are free for the weekend.

Many killers know these hours tend to have high SWF numbers and chose to not play during these hours as well.

I only play at night and queues are usually bad for survivor but instant for killer.

Weekends are when the most amount of sweaty swfs are playing so a lot of killers play civilization instead.

Too many people are in the queue for survivor as its a Friday night, also playing killer is a disaster right now so not enough killers thus high queue as survivor.

My survivor queue times are too long at night as well. When I turn off crossplay it only helps a little.

Daytime players will be relatively more likely to be playing solo, Nighttime players will have an increased chance to play with their friends after work or school. So there’s probably a higher proportion of swfs at night which would make survivor queues longer.

I broke my rule and tried to play a game on Friday night and this happened. For all the complaining about camping and tunneling it amazes me that survivors want five minute games. I guess this is what survivors want, an M1 repair simulator. No Friday nights for me, enjoy the que.

Few killers want to play against sweaty SWF on weekends. BHVR knows this is a problem but won’t do anything about it.

Well thank you all for assuring me it wasn't just crap service or something on my end. I appreciate it. Guess i'll have to remember that not so fun thing they used to call patience lol. See ya on the game :)

  • I'm sure a lot of people switch to survivor for their evening games because all of their friends get on. That and of course the old familiar problem of killers leaving the game...

I think someone mentioned in another thread that just on Steam alone the overall # of players dropped over 10k in the last couple months. That oughta hit matchmaking for a good chunk of people.

All said already: people coming home from work and having some spare time play SWF with their mates, so survivor cue time increase to up to 10min. With Killers you will get 15s cues in the evening, most of the time, allowing you easily to dodge sus lobbies, of you so chose.

During the day survivor cues are much, much shorter and often nearly instantly, because the situation is flipped and a good portion of the 50/50 players play a few killer matches for dailies and tome challenges while non of their working friends are online.

So I play survivors during the day and killers at the evening / night and have the best of und cue times. Even though I am getting fed up with certain aspects of the Killer gameplay more and more.
