We NEED chat on consoles
Hi, i think we NEED chat on consoles. I play on PC, but this is necessary: sometimes i have a good match with random people that play on Xbox or Play Station. How can i send my discord invitation? how can i say "ey friend, how are you?" how can i ask in the lobby (pre-game) for perks or offerings?
I had to log in my gf PS, create an user and write them to ask for join to my discord. But if they are from xbox or switch i have no chance. And this is not only for me, a lot of people surely is in this situation.

I'd rather not have chat for console. I already keep mine off cause well...

Would be nice as a playstation player. Before crossplay I'd just get dms or be able to dm other players, but now i almost always have lobbies full of crossplatform gamers which makes that impossible. Kinda wack that for a feature that was intended to bring the community closer together, it does kinda the opposite. People will always bring up the excuse of the toxic community and yadda yadda, but i feel like ive met more cool people than dickwads in my experience on the game. (Overwatch is wayyyy more toxic) And of course we wouldn't leave out the option of being able to keep chat disabled. So it'd be welcome from me, but bhvr has already stated they have no intention on adding it sadly.

I feel like Overwatch toxicity surged once they added the chat to console. It just isn't worth it, in my opinion.

As a console player, I'd rather see them work on game issues than an unnecessary chat feature. My opinion only, but the game's toxicity level would be greatly reduced if postgame chat across the board was eliminated entirely.

No this game's community is worse the fact that people have to private their accounts and shut off notifications to any message while playing shows that it is bad.

You guys act like toxicty will get worse with console players able to chat where as silence is often louder. Id like communication with console players and i play on pc i just think it would across the board help the solo queue experience. Sure you may get a few lil sh!ts from time to time but having that chat helps with educating your other team mates on your game plans. If anything i wish my other team members could see my selected perks at least so they know how to set themselves up too

I think that not having chat on consoles is one of the best things about playing on console. Not seeing someone say how terrible I am, and that I should go kill myself is one of the best things about playing on console.

As a console player - No. We do not need chat. I'd rather them delete chat entirely and put those resources towards actual game issues.

🤷 I leave mine completely open. 90% of the chats I get from Dbd players these days are compliments, thank yous for hatch, and ggs. Almost every chat I get from overwatch players is hate.

I turn off crossplay because I like to interact with players (and seeing the salt is nice) So yeah consoles should talk too I don't mind waiting 15 minutes for them to type out their points lmao

Even made a thread on all the nice messages i got before xplay was introduced if you don't believe me. Like I said though its rare to get messages these days at all since most people are on different platforms.

No they need to remove all chats. Just play the game instead there are lot's of chats on the internet.

I literally had to turn my messages off because I was getting told to off myself after every game.

I get my share of salt on Dbd too, but i get more nice messages so i leave my dms open. Never know if you might make a new friend. Last time someone came at me in my dms with a rage boner i reported them and sony took care of it surprisingly quick.

Indeed. I am not very social, so I never make any friends, but I keep mine open just to prove to myself that not everyone is a toxic rat. There are a lot of good people who play this game. I need that reminder, sometimes, as I am extremely misanthropic but still want to be proven wrong.

If it's possible I genuinely see no reason not to include it, as long as there's a way to disable it/enable it at will. I get why people might want to disable it, but I also believe a lot of people would like to at least have it as an option.

Microsoft and Sony are the main reason we don't have crossprogression nor endgame chat i asume.
Works in Sea of Thieves, but that's just Steam and Microsoft.

Ha I see. Same with twitchies. Lots of people hate on them, but in reality most of them are pretty cool. They always give me a gg back when i drop one in their chat after a match even if i kill them. It's just human nature that makes you recall the bad times more than the good ones. That being said salt can be funny sometimes too.

Overwatch has voice and text chat through crossplay between xbox, ps, switch, and pc. I think its just because the majority of the community doesn't want it.

Doesn't make sense then why PC has it. Remember: There's always the option to dissable it ingame.

It's true, I don't get nearly enough people telling me what a horrible human being I am, and that I should end it all, definitely should get chat on consoles so we can all enjoy that unique DbD experience.

Guys i don't understand how lobby chat or MD with friends could be toxic. Toxicity is 100% in the end-game chat (and no, you are not obligated to read or write in endgame-chat)
I think that everybody should have the chance to use the chat: whoever wants to do and whoever doesn't want to do it, don't do it.
Comunication is crusial to win, "toxicity" is not an excuse, if it were for that no video game should have chat. But, we are here and this is a multiplayer-social game, so, how can i invite my console-friends to my discord if i can't write them?

I don't know what MD stands for so I can't comment on that. But I do know I am 100% thankful when I see the other players are on another platform and I will not be getting messages from them.

Read the forums - it would be better if there would be no chat on PC as well. We seem to have far too many people who are way to sensitive about everything.

MD or DM = Direct Message. If i have people in my friend list i can't chat with them if they are not from PC.
