Survivors! One simple trick you can use against Pain Resonance
This is something rather simple when you think about it, but I've seen very few people taking advantage of it and wanted to shed some light on it.
When a survivor is picked up by the killer, their aura disappears, but reappears right before they get hooked. If you are playing against a killer with Pain Resonance (or you suspect they have it), when a survivor is about to be hooked and you see their aura reappear, for that split-second, let go of the generator you are working on, then get back on as soon as they're hooked.
It will still regress 15%, and the killer will still see which generator was affected, but this will allow you to avoid screaming and the killer knowing for sure that you're there, which can be important.
I've already gotten to the point where I've made a habit of just doing this pre-emptively at the start of matches until I know for sure PR isn't in play.

Kind of silly this works, though. "I shall counter the information side of your perk by... releasing a button for a second at no real cost!"

Its not that big a deal tho, it's still a lead and since it was the most completed gen till a second ago survivors are likely there or near.
So odds are as killer your checking it out anyways unless you get the usual 1-3 survivors Naruto running to the hook 12ms after you regained control of the killer. In which case it doesn't matter anyways.

it blocks the scream, but not the notification of which gen was damaged. You can still try to infer what's going on, just not know whether they're still at the gen.

Also if you notice the killer has pop (red sparks when they kick a gen) please don't instantly start working on the gen again.

Ive seen a lot of killers use Fearmonger/Mindbreaker to counter this, which is kinda evil really. But yeah once i noticed this, I stopped getting caught by it as much. As a bonus, i dont touch the gen again if it gets zapped, since the killer is often coming over to use pop on it for an additional 25% anyway.

Another major trick for versing a killer with Pain Resonance, this one is for free from me as a killer main:
Don't trade like a mindless Lemming! For real! This might sound like a joke, but it somehow is a real problem. Every third or forth game or so I get a situation where the survivors Naruto run for the hooked person and trade places and I can reuse and reuse the Pain Resonance hook over and over again, often to the extent that Pain Resonance won't even proc anymore. It's fun and somewhat satisfying, but also so frigging dumb. You peeps will just get Pain Res nerfed to having a 30s cool down or something unfun like that, so maybe just start to not throw yourself at the hook the killer took risks to get to.
