Events balancing
a common issue I have seen with special events is that survivors get great items (I. E. an event version of a commodious toolbox) given out like candy where as killers don't get some kind of killer specific reward to find in trial or in their bloodweb. This is bad for a few reasons 1. Survivors will have plenty of advantage from these great items frequently awarded. 2. A killer main or leaning players will see this and think "well screw this. I want to get as many of these super items I can while I can." so they play survivor instead. And 3. With Survivors wanting to use their new items queue times are much longer for survivors. I do have a suggestion though. What if these events offered special offerings that only a killer can get? Something like "Increase your bloodpoint gain by 150%" or "Reveal a random survivor's aura to you until you start a chase" something like that. If survivors are gonna get incredible items easily then I think killers should get some badass offerings to compensate this.

We got one in the Halloween event. Unfortunately, it was also restricted to the Halloween event.
Kind of a shame to not get it again, but the idea's there.

A flashbang and a green toolbox isn’t really amazing tbf

What exactly are those incredible items? Like you said theyre basically just already existing items. Also killers dont have general items like survivors, which means they would need to get new items like the vials, but they would also grant advantageous effects. Why? survivors dont get any advantage from using a festive toolbox rather than using just a commodius toolbox. There is nothing to compensate for killers.

REALLY!? You DON'T think giving out lots of commodious toolboxs while killer get NOTHING is an unfair thing? Yes these exist and show up on the bloodweb but not guaranteed, not at the center, not multiple times and not for 3,000 bloodpoints. Killers should get a special offering if survivors are going to 30 something of the best item in the game. I'm survivor main and I don't find it fair.

Firstly the best item in the game is the ranger medkit and secondly no I don’t. All dedicated player have a good stock of items on their main for example I have about 70 ish commodious toolboxes on Jane. Even if killers got an add on it probably wouldn’t be very strong

The commodious toolbox is the best survivor item in the game and these events give out an outlandish amount of them. Survivors get something awesome to use in trials from events then Killers should too.

And did you get those 70 toolboxs in 2 days time? No, didn't think so.
1 -
No but how many are you going to see after this event?

I want a flashbang!
How do YOU like getting suddenly blinded you snot loses little bastards!!!!

Absolutely not lol, medkits outshine their equivalent colour toolboxes in every way, shape, and form as do their add-ons. Emergency Medkit and Ranger Medkit are hands down the two best items in the game rn, ever since the key nerf and hatch change.

So you want two event offerings? The killers can use red envelopes if they had another offering they would have to sacrifice using the red envelopes. You get bloodpoints for hooking survivors in this event if you play a red envelope, on top of collecting your envelope in game. If you don't want an additional offering do you really want to sacrifice an add-on slot for a niche item. In the halloween event I know I hardly ever used the serum because I didn't want to sacrifice an add-on slot as I main a killer that is heavily add-on reliant. You do get a slight advantage to survivors bringing these toolboxes though because if they hit or miss a skill check it sends up fireworks which can be spotted by the killer alerting you to a survivor being active on that gen.

Well considering that by the end of it many people will have 50+ on their main survivor and on others they worked they should still be plentiful for months to come.

Jesus, now "Us vs. Them" is a discussion for ######### events.

only noobs miss skill checks

i do wish stuff like the blight serum would happen more often (and they'd actually have unique effects on certain killers instead of just 1 lmao)
1 -
Yeah but how many actually use them? How often do you see anniversary or Halloween items for example?
1 -
You dont play this game for a long time, right? Most events had so meager amounts of items for survivors that you were lucky to get one in after several bloodwebs at best. And I dont see where commodius is the best item for survivors at all, but okay. Killer get more than enough bloodpoints out of those events to buy their favorites addons. Youre "reasoning" is totally off.

AFAIK that's pretty much the best toolbox in the game.
The issue is that survivors get a fun toy from a lot of different events, often quite powerful too (see: Snowmen) and killers get nothing.
People are already starting to complain about survivor queue times during the event, and I wonder if this is why.

Yeah I agree that killers need more for events. I’ve always wanted a confetti reskin of killer add ons for the anniversary event for awhile. But it’s not like the toys they get are particularly strong

I like how people act like survivors bringing kitted out items is only an event problem.
0 -
Any stronger and it would be game breaking.
Imagine if, say, killers got infinite free purple addons from the event. You'd have endless complaint threads that Tombstone Myers was on the loose.
...I don't think anyone said that.
The issue is that survivors get a pretty powerful free thing for the event, and killers get nothing to offset this.

All survivors are getting access to are reskinned existing items. Flashbangs are the only unique thing since you otherwise need a perk to use them, but they are also 1 time use.
This is one of the more fair events gameplay wise and people are now complaining that survivors are getting items that already exist in the game.

I saw 2 anniversary toolboxs yesterday and 5 anniversary medkits. These things last...

Then give killers 'reskinned existing items'. I know I'd love a few more iris/purples on some killers.

Maybe they temporarily lower the cost of all add ons to 3,000? They won't get more of anything strong they'll just have to invest less bp
