So once again ive to grind em to be "free"? u know what free mean right?
im paying with my freaking time here thats dosnt make it free for a person with a freaking job

I’ve played those kind of “Free-to-Play” games too. With those long grinds for little in return even. Why games like, say Super Mario Brothers, was released as a “full” and “complete” game- very professional.
But understand that Dead By Daylight, (and please no one misunderstand me- I love DbD’s concept) is by no means one of those “A-class productions” with a huge backing (although I love the DbD team!). They’ve gotta make some kind of income- this game is their job, and the content and patches shows their commitment to “compensate” their players.
I’ll admit, some games can really grab your money and run away with it. But BHVR seems to have “double downed” on Dead By Daylight. As long as the prices are reasonable, I’m personally happy with it.5 -

if 3 days is equal to 1 day for bhvr... im not shockd why bhvr is still working on fixing bugs revealed in 20160 -
I dont understand the problem... Just dont spend Shards from DLC to DLC and you should have enough to unlock it. Its literally free currency you can safe up between DLC's and you are still complaining.

I think the intention by design was for a long term goal and for future chapters. This wasn't intended for everyone to get everything first few weeks.
It also gives a reason for players to come back.

While I do agree that they could buff the Exp gain a little, by rewarding good gameplay more and bump up the Shard Exp, I have to disagree that it isn't free. You don't need the dlc to get the perks etc. just like before but can buy it if you want it asap. But now you also get the option to save those shards for the chapters and thus get them for free.
Surely it takes long since they want to keep the buy option attractive but look at it this way: Right now it feels grindy as hell because you started at a low amount and couldn't get more. If you buy this dlc and just save the shards till the next one, which is now a 3 months cycle apart if I'm not mistaken, you should've more than enough even without playing nonstop. Probably even getting a few cheap skins.
They could've just kept the old system but implemented the new one as another option.

Unfortunately, we have no choice but to either spend money or spend our time playing to get stuff for free. I've come to accept it but I still feel like they shouldn't have made the grind so difficult and the prices so high for the cosmetics.

Yes. Pay content is hard to unlock for free.
If it was easy, it would make the investments of players that actually paid for them to be rather trivial.0 -
Wow, the entitlement is real.
DLC is cheap, and you said you have a job, so just buy it if you need to have it right away.
Otherwise earn it while you play.How is it not free, when they are giving it to you eventually just for playing like you already are. Hell it's like they now pay you to play since technically they're giving you $5 for every ~450 games you play (that you would end up playing anyways).

Question: Do you feel that the artist that spent hours working on the new character skins shouldnt get paid for his work?
If you answered "No, they don't deserve to be paid" - Then we aren't gonna ever see eye to eye so I won't even try, get a job and think about if you werent getting paid for it and then come back to me.
If you answered "Yes, they deserve to be paid" - Great! You understand how employment works. This artist was paid by the studio for their work, how does the studio pay him? By charging the player for that skin to keep the lights on and the employees paid.
They could just say, "Its $$$ only for our store" again...like most other games. They are cosmetics or they are characters and prior to the store, both were DLC that the company exclusively charged money for. Now that they offer the ability to grind for it, you lose it?

free =/= grindable-1 -
450 games per DLC (3 months) thats 150 games per month. One month has ~30 days. Your math says that 5 games a day will get you the DLC before the next releases.
If you are so upset about it, go buy the DLC and then play until you have enough shards for the next DLC.
Or just keep on grinding, as you said, you are level 46 (I'm level 22 with ~2 hrs per day). That shows how much you play and you are sure going to be able to play and unlock future DLCs easily with playtime, but for now keep on getting the shards

It makes no sense to complain about the DLC policy, after all you couldn't get any DLC before without spending money. Now they give you more options for using shards (that you get anyway by just playing).
