What's the Artist counterplay?
How do you counterplay getting zoned out on every loop,if you try to loop, you get hit by her crows,if you dont, she just catches up and m1 you.

Its literally just die. Any artist with a brain is going to zone u to where u cant break the crow.

Flashlights, similar to hag, totally neuter her at loops. And flashlights are probably the second most popular survivor item behind medkits.
Hiding, similar to how you deal with any other really strong killer.
Holding W, predropping, and if you get stuck at a loop trying to run it so that you run into the bird and just get crows instead of it damaging you.
Faking right as you walk into the flight path of a bird, etc etc.

The Artist is a very tricky killer to play against as you cant loop her, her anti loop is probably one of the best in the game. How ever, there is a legendary technique that can be done to counter her.
Luckily I have read the entirety of Sun Tzu's "The Art of War" and on page 420 the following is said:
"You cant loop the Artist, you fool. Trust in the W key, and let the distance of misery become her downfall. Oh also pre drop pallets."

This matches my sentiments about Artist. Sheβs in need of buffs to help her deal with all of these. Shorter recharge on shooting crows is I think my primary recommendation. The other is crow bombs should probably be reinstated. Also consider making the cooldown faster for Artist after her crows are taken away by flashlights Or running through them.

Chaining tiles,
people call it hold w but it's effectively chaining tiles.
When she puts a crow down she slows down for a bit. That time most of the time allows you to run to the next tile.
Same thing you would do against a trapper or hag who puts down a trap. And unlike them the birds don't stay forever.
Windows of Oppertunity helps a lot with this.
Also flashlights kill birbs but that's mean and you don't want to upset poor bird lady

How to counter Artist? W

Pre-drop the pallet and run to the next tile when she tries to set up crows. It's boring and braindead, but it's the only viable thing outside of flashlights.

There is not counterplay for her. Just hold w and pray for your teammates are doing generator.
Funny thing, BHVR nerfed Slinger and Freddy for this and they give us Artist and she is much stronger than Freddy and Slinger lol

- Start fast vaulting to get her attention.
- When she approaches - get to the closest hook.
- Start pointing the the hook with the animation.
- Wait for her to down you and hook you.
- Try too unhook yourself 3 times.
- Ignore 2 skillchecks.
- Done! You have now countered the Artist and free to go the the next game!

I don't give a damn about her anti-loop.
I care about the fact that she can shut down the three gen so badly it is like having three info perks at once.

Yep. I absolutely hate going against her. I feel like a good nerf would be to make it so you can't be injured by crows unless you're swarmed (this would make looping her a bit better). Right now, you either stay at the loop and get injured or run and get injured. It's a no-win situation.

But I just wanna run in a circle it works for everyone else. Why not her too π£

Abandoning the loop, possibly pre drop and hold that W like against every other antiloop killer

This is absolutely the most boring killer design ever then.
If you're cornered, there is no escape for you because of her zoning powers,if she hits you with a crow before the chase even starts since she can snipe you when on a gen from the other side of the map its hard to last long in a chase.

Chain tiles as if there's no tomorrow. Never stick to a loop for more than 5 seconds and she will have a hard time using her power.

The most consistent way to try to loop her is the following:
1-Lead her to a loop with tall walls and little visibility.
2- When she starts laying the crowns, run to another nearby loop while she cannot see you. The height of the walls of the new loop does not matter.
3- Run the new loop while her power is in CD (anywhere between 5-12 seconds).
4- Right before the CD is up, try to force a stun and run back to the loop with high walls. Your priority is to break bloodlust before reaching the High walled loop, either by having her break the pallet or by losing chase.
Notes:
1- Iron Will will help a lot by making it impossible to identify when you left the high-walled loop.
2- A good artist will catch on and put crows in a way to block the current loop and the paths leading to another loop.

Have you ever even played her? hitting someone who is already swarmed is a stupid tight window, unless you do the rediculous half map setup and catch someone sleeping on a gen. The only way to consistently double tap people with crows (who actually try to get rid of them) requires two specific addons that don't do much other than give you an extra 2 seconds total to do so. Hitting survivors with the big snuggly at loops is pretty much the only way to score injures with her.
Learn the crow manipulations. The damaging part of the attack has very short range, and cannot go through any obstacles. Jumping in lockers immediately gets rid of flocks, while vaulting resets them. I learned more about how to counter her in 2 matches of playing her than I did in 20 matches vs her.

A few tricks:
- Run through the crow. You'll get birded, and then can almost always shake them off before she fires another.
- When she sets the second crow, there is a distinctive audio cue. Treat that as you would a Huntress lining up a shot - juke it. Crows have a long recharge.
- Don't sit around with crows on.
Basically, treat her like you would Huntress, if Huntress moved a bit faster but had fewer hatchets. And you can clearly see the hatchets coming.
I've seen top level killers (Otz in particular) get their cheeks clapped by decent survivors when they played Artist.
The problem is that she requires you to think a bit differently. Juke, consider the angles. If she locks down a loop, move to the next one.
This would make her worse than Wraith.
Against savvy survivors, you aren't going to get a double hit. It's so, so easy to juke her crows.

The man created a thread asking for help to go against what he perceives to be quite a formidable foe, and you reply to someone else suggesting she gets a buff to her one small weak spot lmao
Youβre cruel bro π. Rephrase in a way to help @Adaez (and the rest of us) on how to counter/exploit her please. π

OpenX, the person I was quoting, detailed out all her counterplay that I find troublesome when playing Artist. My comment was on point lol but what you said is kinda valid.
