Why am I Getting a DC Penalty?
Yesterday I was playing a match when I got disconnected from lag. When I was able to get back into the game I was immediately able to ready up for another match. Today, I got disconnected again from lag. When I got back into the game I had about a 10 minute penalty. Why did I get a penalty for getting disconnected? Isn't the DC penalty supposed to punish those who purposely leave a match? And why did I get a penalty today and not yesterday?

The DC penalty can't see WHY someone disconnected. It's literally impossible for the game to know 'lag' from 'purposefully turnd off his router/game/PC'
As for why it hit you now; No idea.

Oh, well that sucks.

In a perfect world the game would know the difference between a lag-out, a server dump, and a ragequitter. Unfortunately, there is not much they can do to tell the difference.
It would be too easy for a pissed off Survivor to just unplug their ethernet cord.

'Steam Family Share' if you're on PC.
The game is unstable and constantly penalises people for a 'false positive'.
By using SFS you can avoid getting penalised for unnecessary D/C and get right back into the games. The draw back being your game time will be on different accounts.

Huh? Survivor? Weird that you would say that, many killers rage quit.

I have Killers ragequit once a month, MAYBE.
I have Survivors ragequit EVERY SINGLE NIGHT.
