Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Is playing killer even worth it? Cause I just want to have fun.

With killer I stopped caring. I run weird builds on killers that most likely won’t do so hot and I tend to have a lot of fun.

If you get easily pissed off at the thought or sight of a teabag then stay away from playing Killer.

The gameplay itself is more exciting, in my opinion, and you have more control over the match than you do while playing survivor (generally speaking, and SWF sort of circumvents this), but it's also more stressful to play without the safety net of teammates, and you're much likelier to encounter angry players that will take out their frustrations on you.

That said, despite what's often bandied around, killer generally doesn't stop being fun until you get into high MMR. There's nothing to be afraid of at low-medium and you're allowed to play whatever killer, build, or strategy you like to fair success. High is where the sweatfest begins and most killers and perks in DBD get laughed out of the game.

Either way, anything new is worth a whirl to see if you enjoy it. I was afraid of touching killer for my first 200 hours and now I have lots of fun with the role.

Depends. Sometimes its fun and sometimes you want to pull your toupee off.

As long as you don't take it too seriously, sure.

    Sometimes.

The alternative is survivor and, well... Yeah, quite clearly killer is the way to go unless you have homies to squad up.

I play both sides, and I play both a LOT. And it's definitely worth it.

I'm on console and have messages off, so that eliminates any potential salt I get from someone I go against, so that's a positive. If you play killer, having post-game chat disabled or a way to avoid interactions with your opponents will go a long way towards making the experience a better one.

It's challenging to learn -- when I first started playing killer, I was terrible and got destroyed pretty handily until I got better. But the satisfaction of doing well at the role -- knowing that your result is largely going to be based on what you do, with no one else to fall back on to blame -- is worth the time it takes to improve. There's also never a dull moment playing this role -- you will constantly be doing something from the beginning of the match to the end, and that's fun in itself.

I for my part only play if I feel chilled survivors are online. WIth chilled I mean survivors that play to play and not to win as quick and fast as possible with every single way to use an advantage like op items.

I go mostly online, play 1-3 games and then see how it goes, if I get too often sweaty tryhards then I just quit and play something else for a few days till I feel like I wanna try it again. For example currently I played 6 hours killer, I had very fun matches overall, a decent amount of kills and also met 2 new friends (survivors, I know it sounds weird that a killer main makes friends with survivors but it is possible).

Maybe you can try it like this aswell dont know.

I still play more killer than survivor but I just play less overall.

Mostly due to the negative experience this game often is.

Nothing wrong with killer but make your profile private/turn off messages because you'll get mountains of hate mail no matter what you do in game.

Everyone shoulkd play both sides otherwise you are missing 50% of the game. Diehard allegence to one side is the province of fools.

You put that perfectly. I like the chase and the gameplay so i play killer. Dont get a lot of kills, only 2 team kills ever, but i enjoy the game from that pov. Well not every game. But generally prefer it.

As long as you don't get bumped up into high tier MMR it's pretty fun.

Theres plenty of good advice here from hardened players. Not much more i can add. Give it a try, see if you like the gameplay, dont take it too seriously. And if you take harrassment personally, you might not like it after a while

If you get mad about teabags or clicks or survivor looping, And If you want only 4k every match. then no you wont have fun as killer. Also i want to say watching a 'complainer streamer' have a bad effect on your enjoyment too.

You can have a lot of fun playing as Killer, until MMR stops you from doing so. If you're playing around your rough MMR, they will be good games where you can enjoy yourself. As soon as an SWF has to wait for "too long", or a Killer dodges a lobby because "reasons", MMR will grab you and throw you in with a group of toxic, sweaty SWF + comms who will ruin your game. They won't do gens, because they're facing a weaker Killer than normal, and it'll be a game of blinds, stuns, and using every Perk and mechanic they can to make your life a living hell.

So yeah. You can have some great games as a Killer, I do frequently, then MMR rears its ugly head and bends you over with some sandpaper for good measure.

    Not really worth it atm.

Play Survivor for BP until the event ends.

If you see flashlight clickers ignore em because they're wasting their own time. T-baggers in a loop are great since they also waste their own time. If they do it at the exit just chase them out.

I have fun as a killer main. You just have to realize that the game is intentionally built around 1-3 kills being the normal result when the survivors are as good as you are, which means you shouldn’t get frustrated with the gens getting done and someone escaping most matches if you played as well as they did. Some killers seem to think gens should only get done half the time and don’t realize that would mean matches would mostly be 3-4 kills in that case so they get frustrated.

Just play the game how you like to play it, do the best you can, and if you stop the gens great! Or if you don’t then better luck next match. 🤷‍♂️

Having "safe zone" for BMing is pretty bad for game tbh.

Of course its worth it. You are trading your misery for 4 people having fun. Its net positive

Or you can sacrifice their misery to have fun, you have plenty of ways to let them suffer.

I play hag so when survivors do it I just move out of view and draw a trap. People bming often can't resist and will sit there until they see me again.

It's fun, you'll have some stressful matches if you're competitive and want the 4k.If you love the killer side then there's all type of interesting things there for you to enjoy. As I said some matches will test you some survivors will do gens efficient and you'r going let out a ######### but it's just part of the game.
