Killers that don't need addons?
Can anyone recommend me some killers that don't need addons (, so I can save my bloodpoints for other characters)?
I currently play a lot of Nurse and a good bit of Huntress. I love that both these killers don't need addons and want to keep with this style of killer.
I do enjoy Hag, but I think that Circle of Healing completely destroys her (or how I like to play her by just hitting a survivor once, instead of chasing for the 2nd down).
I think the only other options are Oni, Spirit and Trickster (and maybe Blight?). But are there any others you think can play without addons and not get frustrated by survivors just bullying you for it? Also feel free to agree/disagree with anything I said.
(And yes, part of me does think that any killer can be played without addons if you are good enough at the game. But I am not.)

Playing Pinhead right now without addons. Honestly, the best way to learn a killer is to play him without addons, so you get a feeling of where the limits are. Once you know the limits, you take addons that fit the playstyle.

Personally, I think Plague is good without add ons. Though she obviously way better with cooldown/ vomit effectiveness.

Doctor is good without addons, and for learning the game as an M1 killer.
Plague and blight are also good without needing addons

Blight.

Do you have BBQ and Chili? Any killer becomes point viable if you have that; but I've had the most success for point farming on Wraith, Legion, Artist, and Demogorgon. I run perks to generally keep survivors in the game as long as possible, so sloppy, than, bbq and SH Pain Resonance.

You don't really need add-ons on Demogorgon, their base-kit is pretty damn good.
If you have a good headset, then Spirit is also an excellent choice. She doesn't need to use add-ons to perform well.
Blight is also great but he takes time to learn.
Plague post-buff is amazing without add-ons.

I think you can throw Pyramid Head and Freddy onto that list as well. Their addons are for the most part pretty crap and even with their basekit only they can perform well.

But, you can play plague on very cheap addons.
Brown and yellow.
Dont know names, combined increased timer for contagion for 70s (equal to CI time) and almost instantly they loose health state.

I think the Doctor has short Shock Therapy range without add-ons.

Problem is, I suck. I play Legion without addons. But then I feel like I just have to sit on crutch perks, which isn't as much fun for me. And then when I take off the crutches (and play with no addons), I seem to get those teams that bully me and then teabag 50% of the time (I'm okay with the bullying. And the teabagging isn't so bad. But it's when they do both that it's lame).

I've been playing her lately with no addons. But I just don't like her. I suck with her power. And I feel like I always do "meh" or bad, unless I play cheesy. I don't want to tunnel. I don't want to focus on 3 survivors and ignore 1 totally. I don't want to back to back hook people. Etc. And Plague (or at least my level of plague) needs that.

I've played like 8-10 games of Doctor and my biggest problem with him without addons is his shock has almost no range. It's just not fun for me because then I feel like "why not go for the m1".

Yeah. I've been debating learning him. He seems fast paced, which I like (it's one of my favorite things about nurse. The games feel like they fly by and not in the stressful/frustrating way). I just am trying to decide if I want to dedicate the time to him because I heard he can be as hard to learn as Nurse (and Nurse took me ages to learn and consistently 3-4k most survivors).

Huntress seems fine without addon

I have most of my killers leveled up to 40-50, outside of the Nemesis and onwards (stopped playing around June/July).
I used to play a lot of Legion when I first began DBD, but I just can't get into him anymore (, even though he seems like he does well into boons).

I totally forgot about Demo. I remember hearing all his addons suck anyways. I'm going to give him a shot.
What buff did Plague get? I stopped playing around June/July.
I've been debating on Spirit, but I know that a lot of people hate facing her (which is making me hesitate).

Blight / Nurse and maybe Artist....😗

I wouldn't say he's as hard to learn as Nurse. I just got back into playing and started maining Blight and am having a blast. Landing hits with rushes feels amazing. Stings a little when I slide off things, but I don't think it's as bad as missing with Nurse and getting fatigued. You should check out LilithOmen, a great Blight streamer. He made guides as well.

I'm going to give PH a shot.
Doesn't Freddy kind of suck since they nerfed him like crazy a year ago?

That's the thing about doc. He's My main and I've played him for years. The most common mistake I see is people trying to shock too much. His shock is mainly for short loops where you can shock and cover most of the loop. It's not for standing at one side of shack or a jungle gym and shocking to other side to stop a window vault and get a hit It can happen but it's like cross map huntress throws, it's not an every game thing. It's also not good to use repeatedly because the slow is too punishing.
His blast is his real power, and knowing when to use that is a lot more important. Other than that I play him as a normal M1 and occasionally shock people, but only if I know it hits and leads to me getting a hit.

Will do. Blight has been someone that's at the top of my list. Just been hesitate because all the high skill-cap killers are exhausting to learn.

I haven't played since the Artist was added, but I heard that she generally sucks outside of shutting down loops. Is this true?

Maybe I'll try him out again. I remember getting really frustrated all the games I played with him because his shock was so trash without addons. I was mostly playing him like an M1 killer, but without addons his shock felt like I couldn't even use it to scout (like I see so many doctors in my survivor games doing).

Freddy isn't exactly easy mode anymore with his "Forever Freddy" addons having been nerfed, but teleporting to generators is still incredibly powerful. He is kinda boring to play, but unlike some killers like Legion or Trapper, I don't really get absolutely demolished even by survivors who vastly outclass me.

IMO:
Billy, Nurse, Huntress, Freddy, Pig, Spirit, Oni, Blight... At least those are the Killers I played without Add-Ons just fine. I tried Nemesis without Add-Ons as well, he is not too bad, but not really my cup of tea after using his Mutation Rate-Add Ons since release.

PyramidHead dose not need add ons at all, his Ultra Rare and Very Rare add ons are very bad and his power/secondary power is strong enough at base kit.

Huntress, Hag, Plague, Blight, and Pyramid Head are all still pretty great without addons. I haven't used a single addon on Plague since I P3ed her and she runs just fine.
Though personally I thought Nurse was pretty reliant on having addons. Faster blink recharge feels pretty vital.

I used addons when I was learning Nurse. But now I never run them because it makes the game feel too unfair/boring. I only used the recharge ones (not the ranged ones). But those made me almost never get punished for missing a blink. And once you get good at Nurse, you'll hit a lot of blinks, so you'll down survivors way too fast.
I think she's actually more fun without addons for that reason (, but now while learning her obviously).

If you've become god tier with any killer you can play without addons.

There is none, every killers need addons to compete with SWF.

Doc.
The addons are fun, but really all come down to more efficient ways to do things you can do with his base kit.
Also, I just love my shocky joy boy

Bubba don't need addons.
2 -
Bubba, Blight, Nurse (with a lot of practice), Pinhead, Wraith, Freddy (his addons all suck apart from 1) & Hag
I'd say these are the ones who don't really need addons to do well, they can still benefit from them though. This is based on my experience with these killers and I typically play addonless on all of them bar Nurse, who I don't really play at all.

Only killer that needs addons is Doctor. Because his default shock range is garbage.

clown, myers, legion, pig

Plague too is ok without add-ons I'd say
0 -
Oh ok. Since you said you play a lot of nurse, i figured, that you might like killers with high skill ceiling.
1 -
I never use addons on anyone because the idea of running out of them at some point makes me feel uncomfortable enough to just never use them in the first place, and I perform just fine.
It makes me feel like I'm playing the killer 'as intended'. It also means I don't desperately need bloodpoints. It's a win win for me.

Honestly brown and yellow add-ons are usually good enough for any killer and reasonably cheap. I typically buy one bloodweb per match on the killer I’m about to play and still get more than enough bloodpoints to usually be at the 1 million cap. If you’re really trying to penny pinch just buy two add-ons per match and you’ll earn way, way more than that, especially assuming you’re doing daily missions and rift challenges and keeping an eye out for promo codes.

I can play those killers just fine without addons.

Freddy doesn't need add ons. Well, more to the point, he only has a couple useful ones and the others change his power.
Nurse really depends on who you're playing against and what map you're on. No add ons is a dice roll if your MMR is high and matchmaking actually works.
Demo and Pinhead are decent bets

Now that Trapper has two traps as basekit, all of them. Sure addons make them better.

Trapper, bubba, Billy

Pyramidhead does not need add ons. But then, he has the most worthless add ons in the game so that is not saying much.
1 -
Pyramid Head. His add-ons barely do anything anyway. Playing a match with most of his add-ons is almost the same as playing with no add-ons at all.
