Just had a game that perfectly defines issues in this game
4 man swf with 2 brand new parts... enough to say that the game ended in like 5 minutes
I had 3 kills, so devs will say it's fine, with a killers adventage even.
The problem is that, it was unfun for both parties, for me because i had to sweat and play like a scum and for survivors who were tunneled and camped (thank you facecamping zombie)
Game is not being balanced with "fun" in mind, meanwhile it's neither balanced in a competitive way, if it was, devs would put in mind, what is banned in tournaments and the grind factor wouldn't be allowed to create such a gap between players.

Typical nemesis mains 😏

I fail to see the problem, you destroyed them. They just did gens fast. I bet you didn't even get a kill before they were done, did you? You can always rely on survivors to completely mess up endgame with their greed.

I had a gen go down in 17 seconds today from the moment I started moving.
I counted.

Nemesis needs a nerf, honestly and Bubba needs a buff. What the developers need to do is remove Nemesis' ability to hit through windows with his tentacle and give that ability to Bubba's chainsaw. Also, Bubba should get Nemesis' zombies, there's just no reason Nemesis should have zombies, it doesn't make sense.

The game is more or less balanced when both sides have their meta, but I think most would agree that the meta isn't fun. Nor is it fun to feel like you must play the meta or risk randomly having matchmaking work and put you against meta.
I get babies 9 out of 10 games and absolutely stomp. Then I dial back my builds and randomly get opponents at my skill level to the point where I need the build that was annihilating the previous teams. Do the devs think this is fun for anyone?
Why spend this long and devote this many resources to SBMM only to essentially turn it off when a lot of players are online? What's the point? It's literally the same thing as old ranked matchmaking at that point. You stomp players with a fraction of your hours and neither side has fun. You take a weaker build to maybe have a more closely contested game, and then it randomly matches you with players you should actually get. Fun.

Sometimes its a fast game, sometimes lobger. Sounds like you did fine, just a fast paced game.

This is a measure of your skill. Dont complain about add-ons cause you can bring just as strong add ons as well. Dont complain about perks either cause nothing is stopping you from bringing the strongest perks of your choice. All in all stop complaining about the game being either sided when it just comes down to your skill and strategy determining the outcome of the games you play.
Also what does playing like a "scum" mean there isnt a rule book or guidelines you have to abide by, you should play according to the strategy you have in mind. I need to remind and stress the fact that its a "GAME" not real life. You are not a scum for camping and tunneling nor are you a scum for blinding the killer or clicking the flashlight.
Use the "GAME" for its intended purpose "FUN" and stop taking things that happen in-game personally.🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

Imagine not even reading things and being this salty.
1 -
Now read what i wrote carefully and slow because you missed the problem i brought... game forces you to play in a scummy, UNFUN way and so 2/3 of your comment doesn't have any sense and the rest is just saying "there is no such thing as playing as scum", which is just an opinion. For me, playing in a way that denies fun factor is scummy.

All items should be free, but only have a single version (Brown) and weaker, Bloodweb no more spawn item but only addon.
Stack 4 Green toolbox with 4 brand new part is not fine.

This. The current state is just awful. Everytime I want to have a chance to get 4k I just have to tunnel 1 or 2 people out (Legion stuff). Everytime I play fair and fun, I only end up with 2k or 3 if Im lucky and even then I have to sweat for that 3rd kill. Its not fun for me or the survivors and worst part is, I'm certain change isn't coming any time soon.
1 -
Imagine playing "fair and fun" in legion and getting kills at all.
2 -
You got a 3K in five minutes? Sounds like you wanted to sweat for the win on purpose. You created your own outcome.
2 -
Well, no sacrifice was finished before all gens were done, brand new parts made game going with this pace, after 3 minutes with 1 gen left what else what i was left to do? Either give up and have nor fun, nor bp, only t-bags or start sweating.
Also, yes, i created my own outcome because when i played sweaty survivors brought brand new parts. Think logically, my actions during the game can't influence what survivors bring.
2 -
Your actions can influence how long the game lasts, though.
1 -
Well... i prolonged a game by like a minute because i menaged to zone out 2 survivors out of the exit gates and hooked person area...
Killer can't really make games longer in these scenarios... gens are just done way too quickly.

Should killers just go afk once the generators are all done?

You basically proved how overpowered killers are. You were able to beat a team better than you with strong items by using cheap built-in mechanics.
The question is, why do you want to beat a team better than you that is organized, experienced, using good perks and addons, without even trying?
1 -
Fun is a nebulous concept. I have more fun playing for hooks than treating it like a competitive game. Life is too short to sweat for game design that doesn't feel fun or rewarding.
1 -
Hey guys look ITS SLUZZY.... Everyone say Hi.....HI SLUZZY HOWS IT GOING!
0 -
Wow, they brought in BNP. Daring today, aren't we?
2 -
Welll she’s not wrong
0 -
Except that her logic is completely based on that survivors were better than i was.
This logic put in the simplest manner goes like this:
Killers are overpowered because a weaker killer, beaten stronger survivors with better items, by using in game mechanics.
It's impossible to say, who of us was better, but i can say that they weren't the best survivors in a chase, they only did gens extremally fast.
Another flaw is that the fact that i beaten them (3 kills) was not a draw (2 kills) because of something that happens once in a million times, how often do you see a facecamping zombie that changes trade into another down?

So you're complaining that you won but had to work for it...? 🤨

This is the kind if lack of empathy that you see a lot here, this "hur dur you reap what you sow, you get the kind of game play that yiu deserve. YOU DESERVE THIS!! THIS IS YOUR OWN DOING!!!1111ELEVEN"
I mean on one hand BHVR bends over backwards claiming that this game isn't competitive and that everyone should just chill and have innocent fun, but then they build it and its surroundings like a super competitive esport with SBMM, so that "every game will reflect your skill level and be just perfect."
I never experienced it before DBD that you are that harshly punished for just being a bit above medium good. Are the only options either sweating EVERY SINGLE GAME like its the playoffs are the world championship, or purposefully closing your eyes to opportunities and letting people escape that you could easily catch, just to artificially keep your MMR at a level were you don't sweat?
BHVR has stated time and time again that they don't want to fracture the playerbase with an unranked playmode because they know fully well that no one will wanna play ranked as it is right now.
I mean, I would try it: the new rank rewards are already good enough. Add the rift cosmetics into he mix and maybe a few more goodies each season and people will play it.... but will also have the opportunity to relax at a nice game of unranked.

Add to that mmr is more random than throwing a dice. One game you get swat squad, the other you get... well, something, i can't even desribe what that is, some survivors are just something else.
0 -
That is the opposite of what I am saying. If the game ended VERY quickly and you won, it means you chose to end it as fast as possible.
1 -
I'm pretty sure they didn't chose to make gens go that fast I'm pretty sure the survivors did that.
1 -
I mean let's be fair here, generator times haven't been touched since 2017; before Dead Hard was released.
0 -
What's that have to do with how fast the survivors did the gens? It only takes 80 seconds to do a gen normally. Your first chase you can easily have 3 survivors on 3 separate gens. It's not a stretch to say with in the first chase survivors or when your looking for your second have already done 3 gens. Unless you have a handful of killers or the survivor messes up they can easily make a chase 60 second because they have all there resources.
Plus killers have had a problem with gen speeds for the longest time. Correct me if I'm wrong but when they touched gen speeds didn't they lower them?
0 -
You still control how hard you want to pressure, how much you want to proxy camp hooks, how much you slug, etc.
0 -
Not really in the beginning the killer has 0 momentum or pressure and you really need to have a good first chase to start building pressure. You have to do this with all the survivor resources available. A killer can only pressure 1 survivor in chase at a time that leaves 3 to do gen and it only takes 80. It's not crazy for it to take more then 80 seconds to find chase and hook a survivor.
The thing is a the start of a match a timer starts for the killer and the killer has to apply pressure to extend that timer. Survivors hole the pressure in the beginning the killer has take the pressure from them.
0 -
Yep. Funnily enough when they introduced Dead Hard they also lengthened the time someone can stay on hook for 120 seconds up from 90. But yes, assuming you complete a chase in 60 seconds, that's 180/400 seconds done on the gens. If the other survivors decide to let him hit stage 2, that's 360/400 seconds. That's not a lot of time left for the killer to pressure.
0 -
Exactly and there's times where the first survivor has a really good tile to run if you give up that chase your really letting that survivor go do a gen while you try and find a survivor to pressure and hope at that point you find a potato.
0 -
Not at all.
Get one down and camp them. If the survs are dumb they will come and feed you.
Just finished a game on Auto like that, x2 Coh's so was hard to keep pressure up, had 2 hooks in total no deaths. Gens done, got one down near a corner with a locker for reloads.
Then the survs come, rescue one i get one, by now the wounds are getting up. 1 on hook 3 wounded, down another, repeat hook count climbing, 1 dead 1 down 2 running for gate, 1 dead 3 down, 4 hooks win.

Water is wet. Grass is green. And other true statements unrelated to what I was talking about, much like this post.
0 -
I dunno, it feels like a fundamental flaw of the game if you have to camp to have a chance, doesn't it?
0 -
That was absolutely at least 3 survivors on the gen with a Prove Thyself and maybe even a couple toolboxes, even if it were all 4 it would have taken 34 seconds roughly.
Or of course it could have been a hacker with insane repair speed, but I'd say it's probably unlikely.
If you wanna know the fastest possible time survivors could finish a gen, it's 5 seconds, if they all have Brand New Parts and land both skill checks. But that's just the ultimate genrush kind of playstyle and a big "screw you" to whoever is the killer.
0 -
5 seconds??? Danggg
0 -
I can't remember but I think it was Otzdarva who made the perkless challenge, he mentioned something about how can killers win most of their matches which was playing the most annoying way possible aka camping tunneling etc.
The fun factor went down after ruin was changed for the killer side, most killers adapted to playing slightly more optimal when the MMR came to live, the fun factor went to 0, I know everyone wants to win because that is human nature and that is the point of videogames.
Basically what I want to say is that no matter what killer is not as fun as it was before, it is not about pub stomping it is about having fun which on the killer side is way harder these days mostly because of how optimized survivors got, before you would see really good loopers now you see pre drops every pallet, killers would outplay and bam fun for both sides, Idk what happened but the pre drops and addons like bnp and medkits are very common these days.
0 -
Yep, because Brand New Parts' bonus applies over 5 seconds, and if every single survivor has one on a single gen and lands both skill checks, that's 25% over 5 seconds on each survivor, adding up to a total of 100% because there's 4 survivors applying 25%
