Survivors, would you play a bot killer?
To help with queue times would some survivors be willing to play against a bot killer as an option sometimes instead of real person.
Obviously limited, maybe just 4 or 5 original characters on 3 or 4 maps.
You would have to play without a load out of perks etc but only because the bot killer would be basic too like in tutorial with no perks.
It could still give bloodpoints.
Fyi im a killer and yes, i want a bot mode sometimes.

Honestly, the tutorial bots looped better than a lot of survivors I used to see at rank 1 pre MMR.

But I don't play the side with the long queue so it doesn't really affect me. If it's the daytime, I play survivor when the queue is low . When it's nighttime, I play killer when the queue is low.

This wouldn't be possible. Let's take a look at BHVRS only implementation of AI so far, zombies. Originally they horrendously tanked the performance of last gen consoles when they got added and BHVR over time improved them but we all know how terrible/awful they are currently with getting stuck inside of terrain/doing nothing the whole match. This can be vaguely hand waved away with 'they're zombies!! They're supposed to be dumb'. Now imagine how much more often a killer bot would need to recalculate to determine things - when/where to use power, determining if a more optimal path exists. I mean if the real ask of this is to introduce a freebie bloodpoint mode then sure I guess but the actual AI would be absolutely garbage tier and easily breakable.

I'd love a bot mode like they do in For Honor where you get xp, progress in battlepass, can complete challenges, get in game currency, etc. They could set the bots to have a variety of load outs so not constantly facing the meta and are more free to play with random load outs. Would actually be a nice casual mode for either side.

I would love to face bots, me and friends would very much enjoy that over waiting 6 minutes for a match.
Would be cool if the bot was at least somewhat competent as well

Yeah definately, i still have trouble with bot trapper , the only time i have a go at survivor. but experienced survivors would be bored. I feel for survivors waiting that long 😔

I don't even want bots for real matches. Just bots for training with each killer. They don't even have to be crazy responsive or good. Just something to practice different killers powers like.

No, because it doesn’t make sense. How does a bot not always know where I am? Which is exactly how it works in DbD Mobile. At least they don’t camp, but man they will chase until they down. Unless they’re bugged at a window, which always happens.
Bots also can’t understand how to prioritize who to chase, gens to defend, how to utilize perks, etc.

I would rather have bots in custom matches.
Be great practice and a good way to learn without being wrecked for taking your time learning the killer.

Sure! Hopefully, we wouldn't see so much camping and tunneling... I'm all for it.

I can already picture some survivors complaining; not because the bot is programed to tunnel but the survivors are really bad at hiding.

I just don't think it could provide enough of a challenge if you are experienced at that game. Believe me, after the BS I had to put up with this week when I tried to play killer, I would gladly face bot survivors as at least they just play the game rather than behave like toxic morons.
But sadly I just think it is beyond the capability of the AI to provide an exciting and interesting challenge. But it may be okay for a quick practice or something so I am not at all opposed to the idea as an option.

Why not do something to address the queue times?
Are killer's in such a rubbish state that players can't be bothered dealing it? or has dbd simply exploded and everyone wants to play pretty girls in tight outfits?

Nobody expects the bots to be good players. They just want something to versus at all.

Less people want to play killer, more people want to play survivor, so long queues. Im assuming this could be a cause. I figured this could offer an alternative. People pay money to play a game not stare at a queue. So some players might Sometimes* opt for a quicker match. Thats all. It might reduce queue times if players opt for a bot instead.

I wasn't meaning to have a crack at you, i think bots would be great where people can learn in a low pressure environment, but if the game is in such a state that we need Bots inorder for players to find games, explains about the current game health.

All good dude. I didnt take it that way. Its in a bad way though. Im often up against hardcore teams, maybe 1 kill every 3 or 4 games. Im not that great of a player so not sure why its happening.

I'd venture to say a good portion of SWF would opt out of a bot killer. Can't bully and redicule the bot.

Absolutely! I would love to practice looping/flashlight saving timing in a less stressful environment. None of my friends are interested in DBD so I have nobody to practice with and as such I only improve in normal matches, much to the dismay of my teammates who probably bash their head against the keyboard when I drop a pallet too early or too late to save them.

I was laughing about the wraith bot urban legend, but looking back at your comment about camping makes me smile too, as bhvr says camping and tunnelling is legit they would probably program bot killers to do it. Sorry dude, just messing around. Im a big supporter of a bot mode, or at least being able to use my own characters in the existing bot tutorial. 👍
