Why are mist offerings still a thing?
They are totally pointless for both sides and just make the level look bad plus they just eat up a bunch of BP on a already bad grind. They just need to be removed.

I like to think the pink mist is aerosolized remains from previous trials, or psychic manifestation of a thousand ragequits. It looks good with my GPU.

No, BHVR needs to fix the damn Fog.
It is an important thing for the game, no wonder the:
"See you in the Fog"
So, fix the Fog, BHVR!

I'd honestly rather see them improved.
It should be possible to implement a proper Fog mechanic without reverting it to how utterly awful the game used to look with how dark and murky it was, and if they can manage something fun and engaging where it maybe makes stealth easier or hides things on the ground I'd be all for it, I'd even use my fog offerings.
Especially on Trapper. Imagine thick ankle-high fog that swirls around and helps to hide your bear traps if survivors aren't particularly perceptive, or maybe you have to use a flashlight to dispel it temporarily, maybe a map to see things through it...

It's pink on my computer with Ultra settings.

I had an idea awhile back about mist. The match would start with heavy mist, then gradually lighten as more gens popped.
But yeah, I only ever see mist offerings from SWF who want to play immersive. Get rid of em like map offerings.

Sounds like you need to do some tinkering with your monitor and/or GPU colour settings, because there's definitely no pink mist (bar the Clown).

There's not much I can do. I'm using default settings on gaming laptop. I'll try posting a bug report. What shade should the mist be?

My integrated GPU would appreciate this a lot. Seriously though, I hope Behavior really lessens the GPU intensity of this game, Graphics Cards are insanely expensive at the moment and I can't afford to buy a dedicated one.

... the minimum spec is a 12 year old midrange card. There's not really any further down to go without penalising everyone else.

They just keep the offerings around so that every time someone uses one my PS4 sounds like it's going to die. Apparently my survivor teammates want me to be unable to hear skill checks and the TR during a match. I guess 3v1 is better for escape rates?

I'm pretty sure that "the fog" what the entity's realm is called. There is also Fog all around the map if you look outside the level. I've heard stories of when the mist was broken so we don't want that. My point still stands as they are pointless and waste BP the can be removed and then if the improve it implement them aging.

If they're not going to fix the fog, then just delete the mist offerings. There's no point of them clogging up the bloodweb.

There are a large number of useless items on the bloodweb; some housekeeping would really improve the grind.

It probably just murders the consoles by now.
I remember the days where a purple mist was a game changing offering and totally transformed the map. They used to be really good for stealth killers or people wanting to play DbD as hide-and-seek rather than an action game.

I tried to upvote this more than once. A characteristic that goes way back to the beginning. I remember when fog was so thick you couldn't see 5 ft in front of you. I think Mist stacked at one time. A sad oversight for BHVR to ignore.

Extremely well said, my friend.
It is not surprising for BHVR to completely ignore one of the most important aspects of the game, but they really need to fix that ASAP (another item on that "fix" list which is probably bigger than a titan by now).
The Fog was not on its absolute best when I started playing, but it was still WAY better then...than whatever the hell currently is there.
Bringing the actual Fog back is a huge necessity.

The "mist" makes the game almost unbearably dark on consoles, not to mention tanks performance even further. I don't think I've ever seen such a miserably dark game, best played in a pitch black room. Of course some maps are the exception, but on those maps it's the opposite, too damn bright. Having a crippled FOV doesn't really help much either.

I doubt that fixing the Fog is anywhere near the top of there list so for now I don't see why it shouldn't be disabled. I get so many and the pupule ones are stupid expensive for a completely useless offering.

I really, really wish they'd get rid of these offerings. I just had a match on Badham where two survivors burned the purple mist offerings, and my fans got so loud any time my nose wasn't in a wall. I couldn't participate in the match, I just stared at a wall the whole time waiting for them to get the gens done. Thank god killer queues are instant otherwise I'd be annoyed.

You would think that logically those offerings would actually decrease vision radius but noooooo they just add a clump of floaty see-through black clouds every few meters.

I have not been playing long enough to have experienced the proper fog, but I have seen it in clips.
I think they should either return it to its former glory or do away with it (and the offerings) altogether. The "fog" now is just wisps, at most, and have no effect on gameplay.

yeah, they're pretty useless, however you should try even a yellow one on the crow map. For some reason you might as well be playing Silent Hill because that fog is crazy.
