What are killer powers that people enjoy?
So new killer revealed soon and lots of people are making jokes about her being the next yet another anti loop and no mobility killer. Which you can't really blame as that does seem to he the trend.
It did make me think though. If i think of killers with little to no anti loop then Legion, Pig and Pinhead come to mind. And i can't help but notice that people hate those killers too.
What are you looking for in a killer power that's both fun to play and play against?
Stealth seems to be generally well liked, or high skill/mobility like billy used to be

old billy and basekit blight made/make chase more interesting while still being able to hold their own in the hands of an experienced player.

I guess stealth is alright, but also kinda weak compared to other abilities, if they want to do a strong Killer that could be fun, mobility is the way to go, it makes chases more interesting.

I want her to be stealthy with a power that you can trick people and change the gameplay a little bit (But not in the chase).
Second objective as a survivor is always fun.

People don't like getting downed without having made an obvious mistake - like getting hit over a pallet, or downed while looping well. Enjoyed powers tend to include mediocre chase powers that can be easily countered and/or some kind of stealth. Like Demo, Billy, Myers and Oni. People don't like chase powers that make the standard way of looping unviable, nor do they like chase powers that debuff the survivor (doctor shocks, clown bottles, freddy snares, pinhead chains) or abilities that bypass pallets and windows. And people absolutely hate slowdown abilities.
The hate towards a lot of anti-loop killers is largely because of how bad it feels to have been downed despite "not doing anything wrong" in chase. This is sometimes false - crouching to dodge Nemesis' tentacle and dead angling/sideways juking Blights that DPI flick are examples of counterplay to "uncounterable" killers that most people simply do not know/are not practiced at. But Artist, for example, is a killer where the only way to loop them is not to loop them, and to instead constantly abandon the tile and run to a different one. Many players do not find this fun, and honestly, I can't blame them.
Also people hate being zoned. Which is fair, because it is the most boring type of chase power, just below Generic Projectile #9, and is ACTUALLY a guaranteed, uncounterable down. Hence why people dislike(d) PH, because he could guarantee injuries without too much effort. Demo can do the same, but uhh wholesome Demo 100.

The killers that are most fun to go against are the ones with strong powers, that require some skill and practice to use well, with good counterplay options for survivors. That way you can make the interaction between survivor and killer - the fun part of the game - more interesting and dynamic, with opportunities for both sides to make good plays and outwit the other. Some killers that come to mind here are billy, blight (without the questionable addons and glitches) and huntress.
The fun part of the game is this interaction between killer and survivor. For some players, that involves stealthy play, but for most I think it's the chase that's really fun; trying to evade and outwit the killer for as long as possible. Without this, the game would just be holding m1 (or controller equivalent) and no one wants that all match.
The 'anti-loop' killers, particularly those we've seen released in recent chapters, ignore or diminsh the chase aspect by shutting it down. Pyramid Head and Nemesis will m1 you or just use their power at a loop. Trickster sprays you to an inevitable death with knives. The Artist epitomises this design approach by making loops useless: she's guaranteed to hit you with her power if you try and loop her.
The other unpopular killers, e.g. clown, doctor, legion, etc. are disliked because of the annoyance factor, and how they often require you to hold m1 more, which, as I say, is the least enjoyable aspect of the game.

Stealth is fun, yes. But it doesn't work in this game because of how fast gens go. Stealth takes set up, and patience.
I love Ghostface. It's funny when I slowly sneak up on someone and the freak out and fail a skill check and run. I get alot of laughs.
Unfortunately tho, 3 gens go for that 1 really good scare. Matchs are thrown for good Stealth play but if your goal is good scares its worth it.
I've never had much luck with scream kill wise other than snow balls.
Mikey is the same way. Can't set up his perks to use them fast enough.

You can not loop PH if there expriecend you just cant

I like huntress a lot. She has a very high skill-ceiling from a killer-perspective and yet at the same time the survivor has a lot of input during a chase. Both sides try to play loops, the shape of the loop is very important and it is generally very dynamic.
If the latency is bad it kinda sucks, but that is less of a design-problem more of an implementation/network problem.

I actually really like stealth. It genuinely is the only thing that makes me panic anymore.
