Noed rework ?
So all of us know the feeling of opening the exit gate after you did 3 gens healed 2 teammates and looked the killer for the other 2 gens. It's gonna be a 0k. You are all happy til the killer who didn't get a single hook one shots you and spowncapmes. While everyone gets out on the other side of the map. So should behavior make noed be a reward like devour hope is.

No!
Leave NOED ALONE!
Sincerely,
All killer mains.

No do bones. If the killer is doing nothing? Then cleanse totems
4 -
Another point tho. Imagine how that killer felt all match struggling like that tho. I've had matches against really good survivors where I struggled for more than 3 hooks b4 4 gens were done.
Even if you did well all match and he didn't get hooks and you got camped out at the end bc of noed, I guarantee you got a ton more points than the killer did.
He probably got less than 10k points but at least he got a kill making the time playing somewhat okay.
Noed is fine man. Leave it be.
4 -
Rework to what? it's most fair perk in dbd.
2 -
May as well have the entity destroy all of the hooks if everyone is never going to let NOED be.
It's a fair perk and sees very little play, if you can't do bones it's your own teams fault.
5 -
Yes, rework it. To all the people saying do bones: play solo q. "I am surv main/ 50-50 player":
No, you are ######### not.

The cold hard truth is that NOED simply isn't a very good perk, it relies far too heavily on survivor mistakes at a time in the match where there's a pretty heavy incentive for those survivors to play much more safely and simply leave. Putting even more limiters on it is a bad idea, it's already not very good.
Now, a complete rework that has it do something completely different? That I could be more interested in, though I don't know what it'd look like.
2 -
You're joking, right?! Right!?
0 -
Yeah, I think a rework is gonna happen eventually.

Since the meta is somewhat revolved around booning now NOED has become stronger because of and indirect power creep. At least 85% of your games will have a dull totem remaining in the trial because of this however although NOED has gotten stronger because of power creep it still doesnt see much usage. Why?
Its because there are better "more consistent" perks than NOED. I havent had too much success with noed as sometimes it just gets me a down and a hook but i know it can also be a major gamechanger. Imho NOED is overrated but get @ me!
2 -
Except when im solo q i do do all the bones. With ease. But then again i dont rely on cruch perks every game.
2 -
So should behavior make noed be a reward like devour hope is.
no.
NOED is a punishment for Survivors who failed to do something, not a reward for Killers for doing something specific.
That design philosophy is fine and does not need to be changed.
that said, i do think NOED could be improved.
if there is one change i would like to see, its that NOED should vary in strength based on how many Dull Totems remained in the trial when the exit gates got powered.
That way it would feel more fair towards Survivor teams that did some (but not all) bones, as dealing with NOED now is a lot less punishing / easier in comparison to teams that just didnt do any bones, while also feeling more fair to Killers, because the Perk is no longer gotten rid off equally fast by a team that didnt do any bones in comparison to a team that spend some time during the mid game to get rid of the bones.
the most boring way this could be implemented would be by having NOED light up all remaining Dull Totems in the trial, but personally i'd hope for a bit of a rework (please note that "rework" =/= "nerf") that makes the Perk Token based (each remaining Dull Totem = +1 Token) with effects that are stronger the more Tokens are available.
in addition to that, and this is completely unrelated to NOED itself, i'd like there to be a map wide audio cue that tells everyone when the last Totem got destroyed, so solo teams dont waste time looking for Totems when they are already all gone.

The only thing I would change about Noed is that everyone gets the Exposed status effect as soon as the last gen is completed, and not when someone gets hit

I do rely because my teammates don't do gens, don't heal, etc. My best bet is to have perks that make my chases longer. I have an escape rate of probably 10%. I either die first hook, either no gens are getting repaired, etiher my whole team feeds etc. It's extremely unfair when I finally get a good match with good teammates just to get NOED camped.
0 -
Thats fair. Bring a map. All im trying to say is there is so many tools to counter noed. Most survivors dont think outside of the box and then come to the forums to complain. About how things are unfair.
Then again im the type to run no mither for fun and a challenge and a warm up.
1 -
People always say how NOED isn't a problem, it's fair etc. How come such a fair perk always gets complained about?
As a test, I equiped DH and a map. I am curious to see if it will be worth it for the POSSIBLE noed.
0 -
No because everyone will know the killer has noed and they would just hide and or play super safe until they find it! No...thats a terrible idea

It really sucks fun builds don't work for me because I have to be the one doing everything with these team mates. Every time I tried a fun build, things went extremely wrong.
0 -
Advice: play for fun. Not to escape.
Now i know thats counter intuitive, but honestly, i enjoyed the game so much more by just playing for fun. Yes camping still sucks. But its more fun if its camping cause you got under the killer skin and youre like "understandable". Then again ive been playing for years. So the whole "i gotta escape every match" kinda got outphased.

I think the reason it's so complained about is because it's something that exists in DbD, where everything is complained about. People complain about bbq and camping, they complain about tunneling and killers who don't chase. They complain about flashlights and lightborn. I could go on.
1 -
Soooo, I did bring the map with DH. Game went horribly wrong, everyone was downed by 5 gens left, however somehow we were only on death hook by 3 gens remaining. We got into end game, I cleansed 4 totems by myself, the only one who wasn't cleansed was NOED. I sneaked there, close to the gate, killer camping it. I did the totem and got out.
2k 2 escapes. Not bad. 10/10 will do it again.
2 -
I just think it would make things easier for Solo Survivors

Another thing that will help, next time they do something like the Halloween event, where they have items that spawn for you to smash for points, note where they spawn. BHVR tends to use the totem spawn points for those special items, so it's a good way to learn the spawn points on each map. Realistically every map only had about a dozen possible totem spawn points, so learning them to the point where you don't need any perk or item is absolutely doable.

Ps leave devour alone as well
-The killer mains

NOED is fine. While it is an OP perk, it can be taken out of the match completely with little effort. That's the whole point of Hex perks from their introduction if i remember correctly. Hex perks were supposed to be OP b/c they have an rng aspect whether or not they will be useful in game.

Sincerely to all the people who think that I am for the rework. Firstly I asked you about it secondly I love noed.
0 -
Nice reminds me of my escape against an endgame spirit. 2 e 2 d, instead of going for an easy escape once i confirmed spirit had bloodwarden i went back and saved the person and kept em alive on deathhook via sabo build.
1 -
Curious. What Sabo build did you have?

All killers know the feeling of chasing a survivor, and knowing you outplayed them and are about to get the down you deserve...just for them to Dead Hard for distance to a pallet or vault, extending and resetting the chase, while 2 gens get done in the background, only because of a Dead Hard. Dead Hard, when used for distance, has no counter
But yes, let's nerf NOED, the most counterable perk in the game, because survivors are too lazy to destroy totems, and too insecure without their second chances to run perks to help them find/destroy said totems.
4 -
I play solo and NOED is fine.
Do totems.

Breakout. Sab. Sb. MoM

50/50 player who solo queues because he doesnt have friends who play, do bones.
Seriously ######### is with the whole "I shouldn't have to do something to win" mentality of so many survivors? You don't need to go searching for them, just do them whenever you find one.
1 -
That unfortunately doesn't work! As I mentioned above, after bringing a totem hunting build and breaking 4 totems, the killer still had NOED proc because of my team not doing ANY totem. It's simply the reality.
0 -
If the killer had no hooks at gates powered then you as a team had plenty of time to do bones throughout.
This one is on you for not avoiding an insta down.
Until you walk out the door escape is not guarenteed, no matter what happened during the game.
Nerfing NOED simply so people can guarentee escapes is a bad design choice that caters to the sore losers of the world.
NOED is one of the few perks that make the endgame exciting. Lets keep it that way.
1 -
This guy doesnt do bones.
I've had very little issue with NOED when breaking totems I come across. Either you're unlucky or lying.
2 -
Do Bones. It ain't rocket science.

Do bones seriously do bones like heck we have boons now to encourage us to do bones like whenever I see a dull totem and I think its safe I do them like heck my friend always assume noed is in play when we meet the odd killer who is playing like he is new which thanks mmr for putting that guy against us I'm sure that guy liked that and I most definitely didn't feel bad for them nooo
