If you think things will change dramatically you are in for rude awakening.
I played without crossplay and survs can also do well without it. Also not everyone was using it.
It is a good change tho. Props to devs.

I doubt much will change. When two groups respect the other side, the more safe they play. Throwing a pallet down early when you aren't 100% sure you'll get another loop won't change nor will camping out hook states.

Well yeah cause no one wants to play their game in cinematic mode 24/7 which arguably looks worse than 1440 stretched.

I feel like people really overestimate how much stretched res impacts their gameplay.
Like sure,there are some exception,but i don't see how one would lose a game solely through stretched res

lol stretched did absolutely nothing for survivors in most cases.
even in that one image people always used for comparisons you could still very well see the killer by just angling your camera right. same think for most unsafe loops really.
what was really broken was stretched res nurse, so i'm glad it's gone

Thats true, BUT it also was a sinister force in the back that you had absolute no control over. You never knew if the other player was just better then you at looping/mindgaming, or if you never had a chance to beginn with, because they could see you the whole time. There were a few games where the survivors just utterly smashed me and I could gain nothing on them in the loops because they just played them perfectly every time, and in the post-game chat they blustered and gloated like they were the second comming. In instances like this you wonder: were they really that good, or was there some foul play at work?
Stretch res was different from other forms of cheating in that the bar to do so was much lower then acquireing some real cheat programm, you are still playing the basic game with the basic rules, right? Just with a massive advantage that the other side doesn't know about and that they have no way about the verify.
So in the end it might not change that much, but at least this nagging doubt should be gone that someone wasn't really better then you, they just had an unfair advantage over you.

it's hilarious seeing so many people defend a CHEAT (if you defend it, it means that you used it, otherwise you would have no reason to complain)...

It will definitely effect the way people play. If you're used to playing a game when veiwing it in a specific way (especially a way that gives an advantage) all of your muscle memory is built around playing the game like that.
Looping will be completely different in some cases for many players & they might struggle to adjust back to a version that gives them much less information.

Nothing is going to change in the grand scheme of things. But I'm glad that they will change it, because now the people that kept complaining about Stretch Res need to move on (Hello "TRU3") and find another target. (same like with DS)
So what will be the next thing they can blame when they lose? What's going to THEIR next COPIUM?

? I was just making a harmless and somewhat humorous comment. Idk how you took that as me "taking is personally". Also people do actually think like that, I mainly see them on youtube where they comment on random videos where there's stretched res clips. They don't even seem like they know the person because they never get any form of interaction other than a dismissive response.

I know based on the few comments I've seen that you're just going out of your way to try and trigger as many people that you perceive to be killer mains as possible, but did you not stop to consider what population of this game plays Nurse vs how many play survivor? You TRULY believe Nurse stretched res is more prolific than survivor stretched res?

Because somehow people said that "it looks better" when most just wanted the extra advantage, it was horrible for my eyes, I tried it and gave up because of how ugly it really looked.

i agree with stretch but game without filters look ugly the game graphics are terrible with good filters youy can actually make it look good, without impacting FPS almost at all.

Yeah, filters are amazing, make the game look not as bad, I was basically making fun of people that want the stretch res fps boost but also stream and use filters on the same pc, like if they admitted that they wanted the extra advantage I'm fine but they pretending it doesn't give an advantage in mcmillian and autoheaven is just plain dumb.

Then why are stretch res users crying about the change? If they need the fps still then they can use the black bars.

i always said Stretch gave advantage... i tried, look like ass quit immediately but filters makes this blurry dark ass mess decent looking. never going back to what it was... not even considering the game impact higher configurations have, filters do the same and better , with much better colors aswell without almost impact in performance, is a win win from every single point of view, people who blame it never used it, cuase if they did they would never go back to the blurry ass mess this game is by default... i understand stretch cause looks like ass but not filters... once you taste the honey you wont want to leave it, its like updgrading the monitor to higher resolution, no going back.

I criticize them all the time but this is a good look on their part and I give them credit when they deserve. If you're going out of your way to post about 'stretched res copium' on multiple posts I think its safe to assume you're a stretched user that won't admit it but the bitterness still shows. Its funny how people say it doesn't provide any advantages yet they're so salty over it. If it doesn't provide any advantages or difference then surely you wouldn't feel the need to defend it or comment on it, you'd just play native and be good at the game

I saw a few reddit threads, a bunch of tweets and also a lot of tiktok videos of people basically complaining a lot because of the stretch res removal which is funny.
So it is possible with filters to make stretch res look good? I never gave it a try like that, when I tried it was on default.
But yeah, I cannot stop using detail filters, and more brightness, it is amazing how much it really changes, makes the game look somehow way better, as if that was the intended way of playing it, I used to say that dbd looks like a ps2 game with filters at least looks like a ps3/ps4 game.

Nah sucks for us console players though who can't see more than 2 feet on like autohaven. But console has always been on the backend despite im pretty sure being their biggest playerbase.

But it also gives an unfair advantage, because stealth is part of the gameplay, and with good filters, you basicly nullify that part of the game, the same way stretched res nullyfied mindgames. I know, for some people the game is just about the chases, but not for all of us.

I mean I'm one of those chases guy for both sides, but if one side has the advantage of seeing more than intended and instead of outplaying I'm getting stretch res then it is not a fun 1v1.
The point is to make chases fun for both sides but if one has the upper hand because they decided that 1080x1080 is their "normal res" then it is just cheating.
I don't really care if they use stretch res and say "I use it for the benefits" I'm good with that but if they say that "I do it for the extra frames" but at the same time they stream that is when I have issues, like if you do it for the extra fps because your pc can't handle it then you shouldn't be streaming and playing at the same time.

Yes, but at this point you decide for everyone which part of manipulating the game setup is ok and "fun for both sides". Believe me, being a stealth player and not being able to stealth because the dim-lit corner you try to juke the killer with is brightly lit on his side is not fun for both side, just for one.
you just care for the aspekt that affects your favorite way to play, and take every advantage you can in the other ones. You do the same thing as stretched res, just to another game mechanic instead of mindgame-chases.
