Playerbase Toxicity

So, as we all know, the community is absolutely brimming with toxicity. But sometimes they just go overboard, like this match i had yesterday with a friend. We went against a clown that simply wanted to camp out whoever he got. Not really judgeable, since Eyre of Crows is a huge map, there's not much you can patrol and cover there. Match goes on, me and my friend get 5 gens done while the other 2 get camped to death, we try a save, but clown decides to tunnel down anyways so we just open the gate and leave. Then on post game chat, one of the camped guys just starts absolutely shittalking the killer, rough translations are "Your mom cries when she gets beaten by your dad for birthing you", and the classic "Hope you die getting ran over by a car" kinda #########. So, the point is, exactly how we deal with this kind of crap? Reporting in-game and Steam doesn't really seem to do much, and blocking doesn't actually prevent us from seeing that person again.

The somewhat tedious, but to my knowledge correct way, is this:

You file a report for harresment via the in-game system and take a screenshot. THEN you go to this page here (or just google dbd report):

and scroll down till you find "Additional player report information". Then you follow the steps there, report some more stuff, including your very lengthy own player ID and the screen name of the rowdy player and also submit your screenshots of the post-game chat.

In the end you will get an eMail and the fuzzy feeling that you fought toxicity with the slowly grinding mills of BHVRs internal systems. At the very least the toxic player might get an internal mark and if stuff accumulates they might give him a slap on the wrist. I don't know, I have done it a few times when peeps clearly overstepped, but obviously I don't know if anything came of it.

You dont actually need to screenshot it and report them on the website if you're reporting them for in game chat. Reporting them sends the logs to the report team instantly.

Realize that the people who make these comments are probably 12 year olds who are not very intelligent, so they don't know how to process their emotions and this is the result.

Just ignore it. I know it's hard, but it's part of learning to grow up - you learn to ignore people who are clearly a mess.

Don't respond and move on. By responding you're giving them what they want which is attention.
