Stop doomposting about a literally completely brand-new Killer.
It hasn't even been a full three days since she came out. People are still learning to play as and against her. There is literally not enough gameplay to indicate anything meaningful right now.

We never had a strong M1 killer, what do we expect.
16 -
Expecting dbd forums to change? Nah
1 -
No.
Killers with more intricate chase powers like Pinhead cannot be judged early, but an M1 without chase potential can be judged with just a few matches. In fact popular streamers with huge amounts of hours and experience say that Sakado is weak.

"m-m-maybe killers just don't understand how to press 'w' with this killer??"
2 -
The Onryō is an extremely easy Killer to understand. She's an M1 Killer with inbuilt slowdown,Wraith's old invisibility, a passive Mori and a teleport. Only problem is, is that all of those are weak. The Onryō is a weak Killer
12 -
PinH made me feel weak first few games, but then I realized he has a ton of uses and is probably on of the most balanced killers out there.
Sadako, on the other hand, has nothing good neither on paper nor in game. There is no way this killer becomes good without some good buffs.
5 -
It would be one thing if the Killer's ability was unique that it wouldn't be easy to figure out their effectiveness.
But Sadako is a mix up of different low tier killer powers and 1v4 slowdown that is basically a non factor so it's really easy to see that without changes she'll have a hard time.

there's few things to learn... she's a pure m1 killer with some mobility, no antiloop abilities, no instadown... she could works fine in indoor maps perhaps, but even here she will struggle... a lot...

I called Nemesis as okay during the PTB. I seem to be right, also, he got ######### on Console.
I also called Pinhead as being weak on PTB. I was also right.
I did also call Deathslinger weak during PTB. Fat miss on that one.
3 -
And then all of them were chaser killer.

She is objectively crap. She needs an insta-down at the very least to be effective in higher ranks and condemned needs to be easier to apply.
0 -
Except Pinhead.
His anti-loop is so weak it may as well not exist. His power is his Chain Hunt.
Nemesis and Slinger are definitely anti-loop chasers tho

Players are smart. Players have experience, players almost always correctly predict killer's power. Post like this should stop because if community thinks killer is weak, it's likely to be true

Thank you

Objection! She isn't out and won't be until the 8th.
1 -
Chain itself is strong enough to kill plenty of palettes, it's just so ######### hard to hit.
0 -
It's not.
It has about the same slowdown as Clown's bottle but it takes way more skill to hit, like you said.
That's also assuming the Chains don't instantly break when they spawn and that they don't instantly break on the environment.

Chain is easy to hit. It is extremely RNG based on chain spawns + pinhead position + survivor position at any given loop position. Add in that it has(for some extremely strange reason) a range that implies it is a mid range tool when it is most definitely not.
If pinheads chain was consistent in its value he would be significantly stronger but you can hit a survivor at roughly the same position in a loop and get totally different chain spawns and have them all instantly break vs chaining and slowing the entire duration.

console chain is pain

I was mostly considering chain from a mouse PoV. I take back what I say in regards to it being easy if we are talking console for sure.

Just don't pay any mind to the doom posters. Only time will truly tell us where the Onryō lies on the overall tier list / how she plays out.
I personally can't wait to play as her and use jump scare / stealth builds to just, have fun. I wish more people played to have fun and didn't mald over the fact that they aren't getting an easy 4k every single match. It's really sad because it's looking to be a really amazing chapter but all everyone cares about is overall viability in the competitive atmosphere.
1 -
You are wrong.
If the killer power is something complex or takes aim or trow or set up something, etc. Then it can take longer time before people will understand fully their power level.
This? Lol.

Because people aren't thinking about 4k's, they're thinking about getting stuck in a loop of 1-2 hook games and then playing against total potatoes where winning is boring.

You understand that people are giving feedback for the PTB so she'll actually see changes before release. She's awful and that needs to be clear so they don't drop her as is and ruin a horror icon.

It will only stop if it wasn't true.

I agree that people tend to jump to conclusions prematurely, but at the same time I disagree that there's not enough information to form preliminary opinions on Sadako and what her potential strengths and weaknesses might be. I think there's enough gameplay so far of her to point to areas that, if the data indicates she needs to be buffed, we might expect a change to happen. Notably
- It seems like survivors are finding that the Condemned status is pretty easily dealt with either by turning off the TV near the generator you're working on before starting it, or ignoring it altogether until you're much closer to 7 stacks and then dealing with it at that point. The former strategy though might be the better one since it negates Sadako's ability to teleport directly to your gen which makes it a bit easier to keep working on it and run to safety if she approaches on foot. Yes, periodically going to a TV to remove your curse stacks takes 10 seconds or so, but you rarely have to do it if she's not able to consistently project through TVs near you.
- So if she needs a buff this would probably be an area to focus on. Reducing the TV cooldowns to, say, 30 or 45 seconds would be the most straightforward fix because it's a numerical tweak that's easy to program, it helps ensure Sadako has better access to televisions throughout the match, and it also increases the rate that survivors gain stacks through Projection which makes the stacks more of a threat that needs to be handled on a continuing basis.
- Outside of the Condemned ability, her stealth is sounding pretty solid, which is good! She doesn't have any anti-loop ability per se, but because she moves at full speed while Demanifesting and just under survivor speed while Manifesting she can use her stealth a bit more freely in chase than Wraith does. Additionally, because she has lingering flickering invisibility after Manifesting, it can help her mindgames when the survivor loses line of sight and doesn't know if she's backtracked or if she's continued chasing but is temporarily invisible. So she might not need a buff in this area, although there's no consensus yet on this either way.
- Streamer opinions on her are still overall mixed but seem to put her between average and above average, mainly depending on how much they think that invisibility helps in a chase and how easy they think it is for survivors to keep her televisions shut off without worrying too much about building up Condemned status.
So yeah, I do agree that "doom and gloom" isn't warranted. Broadly speaking most people seem to think she seems fun to play, and most of the people who point out potential weaknesses in her kit don't seem to think that they're game breaking. And if the data does show she's particularly weak a numerical reduction of her TV cooldowns would probably be a solid, easy to implement adjustment.

I can and will doompost until they hit her with the fat survivor buff treatment. I expect no less than an entire systematic change to improve her. To compensate, I will allow them to nerf her already circumstantial perks.

you on console? because if you're on pc i can definitely tell you that his chains are probably the easiest ranged kit out of all the other killers, hell i dare say easier than trickster actually.
0 -
It's not all doom, and some things may take some additional playtime to fully evaluate, but there are some unmistakable issues that we don't need a longer time playing her in order to recognize.

She is basically a weaker version of wraith, that's about it, she is pretty bad maybe even the worst killer to date. Her teleport gives her map pressure though which is good but not nearly enough to be a good killer. Freddy also has map control, arguably better than hers and he still has antiloop AND stealth potential and he is a pretty trash killer himself. People are right, she is a bad killer.

Most obviously weak killer ever.
0 -
you dont need a lot of time to be able to tell that a Killer that has literally nothing in chases (other than random phasing they have no control over which is purely decided by RNG) isnt going to perform well.
she has great map pressure, but, much like Legion, that doesnt really matter when you cant down people.

>You understand that people are giving feedback for the PTB so she'll actually see changes before release
Fat assumption right there
