Kill Switch update: The issue affecting Baermar Uraz's Ugly Sweater has been fixed and the cosmetic has been reenabled in all queues with this update.

Grade (Emblem) System > SBMM (MMR)

At least it is more accurate than just escaping / killing. Both sides need to do more objectives (protect / repair gens, get hooks / unhooks, good chase, etc.). It's not perfect but it's waaaaayyy better than MMR.

I wish they revert it.

Both are bad, but they really should've just reverted the Rank Reset back to how it was originally.

For those who weren't around RR used to reset you from R1 ---> R10. It was a really harsh reset, so Red Ranks was generally a lot more difficult to get to.

I have no idea why they decided to design an entirely new system rather than try to fix the existing one.

In my experience, mmr doesn't reveal anything, and it feels completely random.

At least grades give an estimate of how much time theyve played recently.

So I agree, ironically, i think grades are actually a slightly better indicator of skill.

The emblem system needed some work, it should have been better adapted to specific killers who don't all chase with 2 M1 hits. It also should have been lenient to survivors who were strong in 2/3 catagories rather than needing all 3, repairs, altruism and boldness.

However, it was lightyears ahead of the crap MMR system that got dumped on it, and is a much better point to build from than what we have now.

I really don´t know what statistics they are looking at.

Maybe we are all wrong and the system is far superior.

But from all i see and hear it is worse. But as long as playercount not drops significantly i don´t think we get real changes again.

It is difficult to realize that something you invested much effort in it turns out to be bad.

Also i think "fun" is not really measurable in stats.

The fun thing is, the Emblem System is more skill-based than the Skill-Based Matchmaking.

Going for Hooks instead of Kills is more skillful (more Chases won). Also, you gain Lightbringer-Emblem while being chased when others do Gens... So you gain one Emblem while doing the skillful Part of playing Survivor.

That the Emblem System is better than SBMM should be clear to everyone who is not a Dev of BHVR I guess.

(But hey - at least I can play with Survivors who have 100 and 47 hours... Or with a Meg who had 0,2 hours... )

    Exactly.

This is something that takes a place of honor within the extremely long list of things BHVR must revert.
