Imagine Being Killer
I hardly want to complain , you know playing killer is already tiring and drain your energy. I playing fair and only get 1 man dead. only get 8 hooks. But I don't get anything on progress killer only zero. You know this is extremely make me dissapointed and encourage me to play more cunning. Camping and tunneling.

Or get better at chases? I guess thats too much asked for.

I think 8 hooks with 4 man alive for entire match is pretty good at chase.

Yeah, and hes complaining about not getting two kills. So he isnt good enough at chasing them for two kills. Thats it.

Then the answer isn't chase better, it's something like "be more strategical"... in other word, just tunnel the ######### outta em.

Sounds like the root is that he didn't pip. So he feels no progress was made.
"But I don't get anything on progress killer only zero." I think this is in reference to the pip system
1 -
Thats bullshit. The answer is get better at chases or if youre strategic at all, think about gen defence/pressure. But the answer is never be a jerk and tunnel someone.

Yeah, you won't pip without killing four players minimum as a killer.
game doesn't really allow killers to play anything except tunneling/camping, unless they match with extremely weaker opponent.
2 -
To be fair, there's only one game I can think of that was a team based multiplayer game that didn't have any form of tunneling, and that was F13, and the reason there was no tunneling is because once Jason got you, that was it.
2 -
Its not being a jerk to tunnel someone out, its just being efficient.
Why is it ok for survivors to be very efficient and split up on gens and smash them out but its not ok for a killer to do the same?
Both are legit strats that work and are perfectly fine in game.
Don't ask one side to play less efficiently just because you get pissy when eliminated early, that's an unhealthy attitude to have game wise.

Question, you ever play a team based pvp shooter? Or even play world of warcraft? I ask because it is quite common to see support/heal characters in those types of games "tunneled" out all the time, as is correct and proper if you seek to win. Would you consider those people "jerks" as well? If not, what is it about DbD that makes it so special in this specific regard?

You can pip without kills from Ash to Silver. After that you need to start killing if you want to progress your grade.

i agree survivors are busted
nerf boon healing range
give deadhard a hitbox

If you hook 8 people but kill only 1 of them, are you really a skilled player to begin with 🤔
0 -
Depends on how skilled your opponents are.
Losing to skilled opponents doesn't mean you have no skill, after all.
0 -
If you lost, you lost. The skill of the opponent has nothing to do with the fact that the outcome was a big fat L. What's the difference? You hook 8 unskilled players and kill 1 of them vs. you hook 8 skilled players and kill one of them. The outcome is identical. Only kills matter.

If I play a game against people who have not played before and lose, I feel it shows a far greater lack of skill than if I play against a team of people with thousands of hours in the game and lose. Or, to use a sports metaphor. Just because the jazz lost to the bulls, doesn't mean that Karl Malone isn't a skilled player. If they lost to the SLC boys and girls club Jr team however, that's another story.

Playing without tunnelling or camping often only gets 1 kill at high MMR.
Watch your favourite twitch streamers and you see the game is busted. They play it professionally and still get destroyed as killer. Some hardly play killer anymore due to the imbalance.
Ignore it if you want. Just understand why killers leave. Even if you are lucky enough to 4k it’s from someone DC’ing.

To be fair, many of them aren't that good (not naming names) or choose not to play optimally in favor of watchability. Camping and tunneling do factor in to that. Killers are doing something very wrong in their gameplay if they're running full meta and not winning the vast majority of their games.

The pipping system is so outdated and frustrating. When I participate in a match, I should always get progress towards the next grade. I should not have to reach a minimum goal for it to count. I should not have to meet a minimum goal to not go backwards in progress. Grades are not used for matchmaking, they are used to show the amount of time played in a month, so there should be no "backwards."
Pips need to go. Filling up a bar would be fine. All progress made should count. Players should not get screwed because they didn't meet some arbitrary little marker, they shouldn't be screwed because matchmaking prioritizes queue times over a fair match. Survivors shouldn't be screwed by bad teammates. The pipping system punishes players for things out of their control.

Are you actually serious? That is completely the opposite of everything I have seen. Are you just saying that to make people feel like they are bad when they’re not? Tell me one twitch streamer that is able to win the majority of their killer games (3-4K), and plays at high MMR. I don’t know if ONE.
Tell me please. If I am wrong I DESPERATELY want to see it. I can’t play more than 3 games as killer without becoming sad these days.

As far as the game is concerned, there is no difference.

Of course there is, otherwise losing a single match would drop you to the bottom of the mmr ranking, no matter where you were beforehand.

So if I just get better at chases, survivors will just stop escaping? Gens will not be a factor?

I'm fairly certain it has been confirmed by the developers that the only thing that matters regarding MMR are escapes and kills. How you got those, maybe the emblem system cares, but the mysterious black box that is the MMR system doesn't, to the best of my knowledge, based on what information has been made public about it.
