Please get off the gens
Seriously I cant count how many times I've been left on my first hook to die while I watch my teammates sit on gens. If I didn't almost always have kindred there maybe an excuse.

Sometimes Kindred kills you.
If the killer is near you see that and esp. new players are scared to save then.

I've been on the other side of this too much; I'm literally across the map, guy gets hooked, im like "The others will save him while i keep gen progress going."
1:30 later I'm making a mad dash to the survivor wondering why they arent saved yet only to find tweedle dee and tweedle dum playing BM simulator with the killer 2m from the hook.

I had also noticed that I often thought "Someone else will get them" "That person is closer" or "They look like they are going for the save" when someone had Kindred.
So I stopped using Kindred, and now just go save whenever I can / it most benefits the team at the time.
Sometimes information can be as much of a burden as it is an asset.

I stopped relying on other solo survivors and stuck with a stealth build just to get the escape.
To many times have I been in your shoes and I got fed up with it so I changed my approach.

Oh God, don't get me started, I'm beginning to think you only get one hook state anymore.
And, for the love of God, stop this 99ing doors BS.
Especially when there are only 2 of us left. I do a long loop to give you time to open the door, somehow make it back and the fking door is 99. While you are now on the other door.
What is the logic behind this move?

So much this for me as well. I'm the maximum distance from the hooked person with 2 other survivors crouch walking around the hook for a minute before they run away despite the killer being out of Kindred range. I honestly do not understand 90% of the solo q players out there.

Alternatively, still use Kindred and use that info to make the save if you see no one else is doing it.

When I play killer, I'm often surprised by how often I see this happen.
Playing Pig yesterday, and I down and hook an Adam quickly. Start chase with a Nea (we were on the Chapel map), and pursue her to the circus end of the map before downing her. Adam is hooked near the killer shack, and while all of this went on, the Felix and Mikaela sat on gens and ended up leaving the poor guy to die on 1st hook. I genuinely felt bad for the Adam.
Both the Mikaela and Felix were the definition of terrible teammates (the Mikaela knew how to teabag, though -- right before she lasted all of 20 seconds before getting downed for her final hook). The Nea was the only one who played unselfishly in the match to actually try to help her team, and I gave her hatch as a result.
Matches like those are perfect examples of why the killer isn't always the one you need to worry about. 🤔

Had a match last week where I'm injured and deathhook and Meg 99 door AND walks away from it with the killer heading straight at us. I died at entrance of gate since I had to go open the door first. Switched to another game after that I was so pissed.

that's why I always open the door, I understand 99'ing the gate to avoid bloodwarden and the timer, but it's so screwed up when a survivor dies because of that.
1 -
Yeah, that was me yesterday. I was done after that. So frustrating.
I don't get the 99 doors thing, if you do it, stay by door to open it.
In my case, if she opened doors I could have ran out and if she took a hit , definitely would have made it.

I also like it for saves and to know if I need to smash gens because the killers camping. I can't count how many times I've done 3-4 gens while my teammates mess around hook and trade.

I think I've died twice as much from 99ing doors than I've been saved. I totally understand doing it when there are 4 survivors and one just got hooked but quite often as soon as a survivor gets off hook if they have to open the doors while in a chase with the killer they're done for. If the door is 99ed then please have at least 3 survivors (one unhooker/protection hit person, one unhooked and one by the door to finish opening it as soon as the survivor being chased is close)

99'ing doors gives the killer an extra chance to catch you, so I'm all for survivors doing this, especially when everyone is injured! Solid strat, keep it up guys!

The 99 door thing is to make sure EGC doesn't screw people over if they take a long time rescuing everyone. This goes triple if some wildcard decides to bring in Blood Warden.
Of course, whoever 99s the gate has gotta make sure that they or someone else is not too far from the Gate so they can immediately open it as someone is desperately trying to run from the Killer toward that gate.

Yes, no doubts. There is a time for it, but I feel so many people do it without the understanding when it is appropriate and when it is not.
I still feel I die more because of 99 gates then I see them save people.
1 -
True but I never 99 because I find it's the best move majority of time. No one gets caught at gate, everyone can focus on protection, and if timer does get super low just leave. No reason the killer can't have one kill for ######### sake.

I run kindred instead of BT for solo now.
I got tired because no one brings it and they farm you off the hook or don't come at all.
I have better chances with kindred in that scenario.

I totally agree, It seems people become obsessed with getting all 4 out. 3 out is a win and the killer deserves some fun as well.

I canr tell how many times noed has popped and I've just opened the gate and left .

Not when I am on a generator challenge. Sorry, but papa needs his redundant Sadako hush money.

Rpd is a ok reason as well me and someone else hit second today because it took them so long to get through the maze we just hit second hook.

I felt this statement on so many levels

Just had a match on dead dawg where we finished 4 gens and no killer so I went looking. Well bubba wasn't to happy I went in his basement. I got kindred and my teammates got off gens. Noed 4k I seen it coming. I thought hey at least I got kindred and my team will know bubba right there and they won't come down.

Ooohh, interesting. I'm going to swap my current bottany knowledge or windows of opportunity for detective's hunch.

No, you're right.
I've only had it for the last two days because I had to heal people and I didn't want to use COH.

I can't count how many times I'm working a gen with kindred and suddenly I see someone running the killer straight for me. I have no problem brushing someone off on an AFKer but damn man give me some space. If you get downed by me it's an easy, quick save. Now he's got both of us in his sites and neither of us is working a gen.
