hackers pandemic
This is real. In the old days you would come across someone cheating from time to time, but for a while now (especially since the game came out on Epic Games) we've seen a lot of people using cheats. The reporting system does not seem to work, it gives the feeling that it is only good for letting off steam since there are more and more. It's very frustrating. They should provide more tools when reporting such actions. Or at least give them to certain people you trust, like the Fog Whisperers to clean up the game.

I honestly don't know if that is true, but we do know that hackers have claimed to have had bots create hundreds of Epic accounts in the free week, so getting banned may not cause them anything more than a minor inconvenience.

I havent seen a single hacker in my games this year. And maybe a handful on several streamers in my region. So its probably not a hacker pandemic.

even if they didn't, you can buy steam profiles that own dbd for cheaper than dbd itself. honestly don't think there's a real solution to this problem, nothing direct at least.

The chances are you can't distinguish hacker, most of them are subtle one.

Reporting in game only is useless. You have to also create a ticket with video proof of hacking/cheats. They should make this more clear in the game.

So far i only had 1 confirmed (even video proof).
and maybe 1-2 unconfirmed but very weird interactions. (very quick heals with no fitting perks etc. or super fast gens)
Sometimes i get paranoid when something seems "fishy" but i think that mainly comes from my old CS:GO times where they would suddenly rage-hack and hacks "only" cost 10$ per month with everything included. Idk what DBD cheats cost. But i heard they are pretty expensive.
Even if i would be desperate i would rather just play another game than pay money to win in this game. Maybe fun for 1-2 rounds to fly around or w/e but then i don't see how that could be still fun.

I'm not going to give you a number. Let me just say I've seen several cases of instaheals, teleporting and leaving the game before it ends, survivor changing totem status since EGC release.

I play against at least 1 obvious cheater every single day. I really hope devs will file a lawsuit against cheat developers, because I don't think they are competent enough to implement server side validation and upgrade anti-cheat.

You can ban cheaters, and it will deter some of them. A determined cheater however will always find ways around the bans. I know of one infamous cheater playing in my region who regularly stream-snipes big streamers, has been banned dozens of times, and is still going strong. All a ban amounts to is another $15 for a new account, plus whatever monthly $ he has to pay for his cheats.
The game needs some form of automatic ban system, similar to fairplay. For example, there are known values for movement speed, and any player who moves faster than what the game allows gets flagged and temp-banned until the matter has been reviewed by a person. Same goes for perks, it's impossible to bring more than 4 perks into a trial, same for add-ons. Someone with 9 perks and 17 add-ons should automatically trigger a flag and put a temp-ban on the account. I think this is the only way to deal with cheaters in a timely and sensible manner. Of course, this requires implementation of new systems, and more staff to review these flags on a case-by-case basis.

I hate when i play killer there are so many subtle cheaters that run faster than normal survivor and teleports mid chase.

Meanwhile I face an avg of 1 cheater every killer session, I can make a 10min compilation of cheaters just from the month of february (me facing cheaters).

you haven't seen any? how lucky you are. In two years I had only seen a couple of them, like the Ghost Face that flew. Now there is everything, players who run at the speed of light, fly, hang on hooks alone, make engines and heal instantly, escape from the game when there are still engines to do, two killers in the same game.. And so we can continue to infinity. All this I talk about myself in my games. I have denounced several but the only thing I receive is an email from BH saying that they will look at it. But they need to get more serious about these things.

100% doesn't change that they often get caught sooner or later.
especially with a system where players can watch game replays and decide if it was cheating or not.
In CS:GO it's pretty easy to tell if someone has wallhacks or just really good game knowledge or game sense. In DBD it would be even easier to tell if they have wallhacks or speedhacks. And a system like that would make people cheat less for sure, even if it isn't as bad as CS:GO (and here we have to keep in mind how big the player base is in both games).
While in high elo, you can actually see, you can encounter a cheater every 2nd game (at least when I played). And i know even people i played with and thought they are really good cheated as you can turn a blind eye on fishy things when you play with someone.
That's why this anonymous system worked so well.

i only said that for the unban themselves part, i've never seen a single cheater unban themselves and if you've seen cheaters doing that give me some proof

It’s 2022 and there are people still being ignorant to the fact that cheating is rampant in this game. Despite the numerous threads on here & other forums, and despite the numerous videos showing players cheating with hacks. There are subtle hacking that’s very hard to catch unless you know the game very well. Stop discrediting others just because you yourself don’t “see” it.
Sometimes I wonder if the players who are downplaying this, are the cheaters themselves. Smh.

i get hacker survivor. he can hide on locker , but i cant grab him. suddenly he can get out from locker and doing gen but when I go to his location he hide again and then but I cant grab him.

I am not sure if this is a hacker thing or not, but i had several games as a killer where the game was basicly over and i had won, then suddenly i get disconnected. This happend several times now.
However, since i am a survivor main, i play most of my games on the survivor side, and i never had such a strange disconnect then, only when i play killer and only if i basicly won, never in a game i lost. Coincidence?

Seen a lot of hackers lately. ALL of them are from epic. Can we do something about epic showing up as console?
Yesterday i had a huntress who i saw teleport few times. She tried to be subtle but failed since i caughed her. She was also just a tiny bit faster, i know this cause i main huntress she aint no 4.6 killer, and when she picked up survivors half of her animation was cut off so she picked us up super fast. Also had agitation without having agitation.
Its the hackers that try to be subtle that pisses me off.

This could be a lot less of a headache if dbd had server side checks during the game instead of relying on players to spot them, capture video and report.

There was something at one point where hackers could bypass the ban and still play,dont know if BHVR patched it or not.
