Is there some way of seeing your MMR?
I see people saying all over the forums "I'm high/low MMR, so here's my opinion..." First of all, what is low and what is high? Is there no in-between? I've never seen anybody say they are medium MMR. Are people just completely guessing? Is it because they get lots of strong killers/survivors (or poor ones)? But I thought MMR matchmaking didn't work so you could literally get survivors with 5k hours for your second killer match ever?

Cheaters can actually see peoples MMR
They are the only people who can, apart from BHVR I think

Oohh interesting. I figured they'd have those numbers encrypted since they're so secretive about them lol

You cant see your MMR. People have to guess wether they are low, high, or medium.
2 -
I saw a cheater go into someones stream chat and he told them the MMR of every survivor/his mmr yeah
Not so hard to find out apparently
3 -
Not by legal means within the game no.
2 -
Easy, If you are being camped/tunneled, then you are low MMR.
If you are being tunneled/camped, you're high MMR.
3 -
Well if I'm not high MMR with an 82% escape rate over the past few days then I dont know what is.
While no one can say for certain, we know escapes increase survivor mmr and kills increase killer mmr.
So if you escape far more than you die or get a 3k more than you do a 1k then you're obviously climbing the SBMM.
But iv played for 5+ years so I have a ton of experience and can tell when people are playing well.
Although this SBMM is very bad so it honestly doesn't mean too much

It all makes sense now!
1 -
You can see your mmr by the way your opponents are playing. Not always the case but you get an idea
0 -
You can't see your MMR, but you can see how your opponents play.
It WILL change from match to match. You can get a high-MMR squad and then a low-MMR brand new squad right after.
2 -
Though the numbers do increase/decrease depending on your opponents MMR and hatch escapes as well as matches where at least one survivor disconnects early don’t count.
in the end you are still assuming but don’t know for sure if high or low, or whatever in between
0 -
That's not strictly true, sadly this SBMM does an average and puts queue times before the best matched games. So you could have a mid mmr and a high mmr survivor verse a high mid mmr killer for example. You also have backfill, which widens the brackets alot.
This next bit is leaked (same people who first leaked it was kills/escapes before the devs admitted it) and they say theres a soft cap of 1900, this means you can go over that but still count as that mmr (simply to help lobby times)

When the mmr system first dropped there was some data mining being done. Your MMR isn't "hidden" in any meaningful way. It's just not displayed by the client. The only sure fire way to check for MMR is to use tools that will likely get you banned.
0 -
Yeah your right. But you do get an idea. If you are getting garbage teammates your in low mmr most likely. If you get survivors that can basically loop you for a long time after getting 4ks then your in high. I do agree with you tho. They won’t show it unfortunately
1 -
Well in that 82% none was hatch escapes, and a few of the deaths was due to a DC so if it works that way my escape % is actually higher.
Like I said though you cant be certain but if that type of win % isnt then what is? I already see so few killers lol
Assuming over a very good data though, but I dont rate this SBMM anyway. But the only way I could really get much better is always use meta and look through walls lol

I think the soft-cap existing was actually confirmed by the devs. Though obviously not the absolute number.

I'm kinds glad they dont show it, would cause more arguments and have a bunch of people comparing stats of people.
The way I see it is, I know I'm good, iv always been good at the game and other games. I dont need to prove it on forums, I'm happy with my place and that's how everyone should feel
(I do wish I'd see a bigger range of killers though, hoping a DH nerf will help that)

Long story short: there are ways to see it that involve third party programs that EAC may or may not like. Using a packet sniffer can incur an EAC ban. Nobody knows their MMR unless they are breaking TOS
1 -
No I disagree, they should show us it
It would help to know if in solo q I'm being put with teammates who throw games/cause me to drop MMR because I'm low MMR myself or if the system just isn't working and I was put with people I shouldn't be
Solo Q is in the worst state its ever been in and its getting to the point where I'd rather just play killer instead. At least then when I lose it's all on me

Oh I'm not sure, I know they finally confirmed the kills/escapes and the backfill etc. And how it worked but didnt know they touch on that part.
I'll take your word on it if you're sure though, makes it easier than quoting leaks

I’m happy with where I’m at rn. The only killers that really give me trouble are clown (yes i know I know) and spirit. Absolutely a sweaty nurse but I don’t count that. Just wish we could get more blood points and get the dead hard deletion

The soft cap is confirmed. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe everyone above the soft cap is rounded down to the cap for matchmaking purposes, but their real number still moves.

i am not that sure about it, hence me saying ‚i think‘
but i an fairly sure. Maybe i will look at GBKs summary’s tomorrow if I find time (and motivation), should have been in one of those… probably.

But the game wont match you with players all the same MMR. The devs have said they go for lobby time first, while they do get an average they will soon expand the bracket.
Honestly you shouldn't care about your rating, it's a bad mindset. I play solo and trust me some people are very bad lol. Not to mention a bubba can legit just face camp you on first hook for 0 reason lol.
This game is too rng and imbalanced to focus on your rating, and I find issues in every other game that shows them with people being petty over others sadly
1 -
I don't care about my rating
What I care about is the devs saying that escaping is the only expression of skill worth measuring in this game, and if you don't escape then you are "lower skilled" and should be matched with lower skilled opponents, which THEN leads you to dying even more because you're with people less experienced.
The term MMR hell? That's what that is
2 -
No harm, I can just keep quoting leaks if need be as it seems reasonable and they was right about the other stats. Not that I think it matters all too much
Damn I haven't seen a clown in ages! Did see my first artist in months though! She wasnt that good but it was nice to see her.
But as long as you're having fun that's all that matters in the end
0 -
Oh yeah I dont like it either, and I know exactly what you're on about my brother is down there 😂 hes not even bad but no one does anything, he often dies on first hook when the killers not even by it.
That's one reason I wanted the old ranking system tweaked not a new SBMM based off escapes and kills
1 -
technically yes but it's bannable so no
1 -
You can with certain programs, cheaters can also see theirs and your mmr
0 -
It also feels like I'm being put with worse teammates but killers who are actually competent
It makes no sense at all
1 -
Could be backfill, if a lobby takes awhile to fill up or a survivor backs out it can backfill worse survivors.
It happened to me today, awful team verse a very good huntress with good perks, it was a chore getting any gen done and they was all going down across map. I just moved onto the next game, no point dwelling on it as you cant do anything about it

Every single clown player I come across is god tier with the pinky finger. Like don’t remember the last time I beat a clown
0 -
Yeah you could be right
It'd be easier to not dwell on it if these games were outliers but this has been my experience basically all of the few hours I played today. Good killers with bad teammates. I'm punished for it with lower MMR which (if the system works) will put me with less experienced survivors and killers [?}
I even had one person intentionally trying to sandbag me to death. Jokes on them though, they died

There's no way of actually checking properly, but I use certain things to clue me in on what my MMR might be. For example, average hours of players I get, actual performance of the players of the match, steam achievements, and self comparison. For the most part: higher hours, survivors that are really strong at looping, lots of DBD achievements on their steam profile, and just knowing your own performance compared to well known good players (like Otz) can all be used as possible indications of your MMR.

Unfortunately because the amount of Killers in queue are so low at the moment the backlog of survivors in queue is causing high mmr survivors to spill into low mmr games.
I belive this is why the mmr is hidden because the devs know its a mess and the complaints would be justified.
