Why we can not have dark maps anymore?
MacMillan, Autohaven, Asylum, Springwood, Yamaoko are not enough dark like old versions.
Coldwind is completely changed.
Saloon, Midwich, RPD and Eyrie are far from being dark. Midwich and RPD are indoor maps, so it does not matter for them anyway.
Red Forest and Swamp are last really dark maps and they will change with rework probably. Haddonfield is licensed, so i doubt they will make it bright, At least i have hope for Haddonfield.
I hope next maps bring old theme back, i miss this type maps.

Coldwind sucks after rework, for me is the worst rework due the lighting only. Cornfields at night were very immersive.
I hope they won't set swamps and red forest to daytime.

I like daytime Coldwind but I wish scratch marks and red auras were adjusted on it.

BHVR have seemed to abandon those types of maps. They seem to want to focus on aesthetics now, and dark maps can be hard to show off. Look at Eyrie of Crows. Looks cool as hell, imo, and is also bright as hell.

I loved the old dark maps and accompanying offerings. I think killers couldn't find immersed survivors. It was traumatizing. Ha.

Pity poor Trapper on all of the bright maps, especially the Artist's one. 90% of the map it's impossible to hide a trap!

I feel like DbD's art-style as a whole has died, with nearly everything new that's coming out looks like its in a completely different art style from the original art work.

It depends a lot on the maps. I sure as hell cannot see to save my life in new Autohaven Wrecker and Blackwater Swamp up the point any Claudette is guaranteed a escape when I get those as Killer. I'd rather have a mixture with lighting darkness than overly dark maps.

I not only want the old maps back, I want weather in the game.
You know how Freddy has ashes fall when asleep? If we can create that VFX, we can do rain or snow.

as a person whose other main is ghostface,i want dark maps so i can yoink more survivors off gens,its hilarious to see people go mad at me for sneaking up on them,though i dont get any surge value,but as long as i get a hook im good with it

People who want dark maps back want form over function. They see nothing wrong, I guess, with Claudette hiding in plain sight just because the ground is dark. Did you guys ever even play killer when maps were super dark? With most of these newer maps, survivors can't just disappear mid-chase with Iron Will, which is one of the greatest improvements the game has ever had.

I am 4 years DbD player, so yeah i played killer while we still had this maps. And it was never problem, at least for me.

Yeah I don’t like new coldwind. It doesn’t feel like it fits the game atmosphere at all.
I’ve only played for about a year though, so that’s the only reworked realm that I actually played on the old version of.

I liked having a daytime map. I don't like all the maps being changed to daytime. That doesn't even make sense when most of these movies all the action happens in the dark.

That was never a problem for me either on the old maps. It didn't start happening more noticeably until after the reworks for me cause they still be doing that ######### midchase. Just had Elodie and Leon try it last night on Coldwind.

1st I like cold wind, having different times of the day is great.
Tbh I'd like every map to have a day/night variant just to mix things up.
But alot of people dont like the dark maps, so many people complain about it and so many people use filters to brighten up the game anyway.

Same Eyrie, Ormond and Red forest are day time and I like them, but i despise new coldwind. There was a pretty cool mod that reverted the lighting to how it used to look:

This game has lost all of it's charm. It's original maps and art style was unique, but now it's been thrown in the dumpster for a new "modern" look that just drained the life out of the maps. Honestly this game should just be renamed to "Dead At Daylight" with all of the sunny, bright maps.

How about adding a brightness switch into the game? Make the maps darker by default and let people choose how bright they want their game to be.

I really miss dark maps! But I have seen a lot people put trigger on brightness and all dark maps was looking like daylight, which I think is stupid

I just assumed the map changes were due to characters with darker skin tones and clothing having a distinct advantage over other survivors.

This is so stupid if they changed maps for that. DbD lost it's soul when they changed this style.

I hope the maps become darker with a restricted fov. Hoping we get a map with very little visibility. This is a party uhh I mean horror game after all
