Didn't that already happen? I thought that was part of the mid-chapter update.
EDIT: I have been corrected. I thought that was mid-chapter with the last update but evidently it is when TV Lady gets released

Dont get me wrong, they shouldve changed this years ago. I just feel like people blame it on everything. I have a little bit of comp experience where probably 90% of survivors play stretched, and it doesnt make a huge difference. There are certainly loops like Autohaven Jungle Jims or hay tiles on Coldwind where you notice that you face a stretched survivor, but the general impact is very minor in my opinion. What does have a huge impact and is a much bigger problem in my opinion is game filters. My friend showed me this: You can basically delete every colour from this game and make it completely black and white while heavily intensifying red, which makes the killers red stain basically visible through walls. Ive tried this once and it basically feels like cheating.

I still love to see how stretch players desperately try to use the excuse "it just looks better" but in the same moment try everything in their power to tinker somehow with the engine files and stuff to break again the FOV to keep using it after the patch. Right they are definetly not using it because of an advantage, just because they "like" it.

to me it actually did look better at a certain point. but after that point or the usual stretch i see it gives me motion sickness

Not always. I have friends that can play months before their account is actually detected and even then, they made somewhere around 50-100 accounts from the epic games promotion and save injecting so...

No doubt it should've been changed long ago. But there are going to be a lot of shocked pikachu faces when the patch drops and killers still can't mindgame completely safe tiles. Then we'll see the 100 "stretched still exists" or "filters need to go" posts. The last thing those players will do is accept that they need to improve.

Imagine believing that having a monitor with a not 16:9 aspect ratio is cheating.
Guess people 20 years ago all were cheaters with their 4:3 monitors.

With stretch eliminated BHVR can hopefully focus on fixing Ghostface reveals that shouldn't happen.
I'm thinking it will be like any patch, those determined enough will seek out alternative hacks. At the end of the day some people want to have their fun no matter the cost, even if its unfair.

How the problems of the game can be used to excuse piling up more crap on the honest players? (The only players when you thing about it : cheaters don't play the game, by definition.)

Well yeah, filters do need to go since you can make the killer light as bright as the sun and larger because it makes the really faded area bright. This will never happen though since bhvr signed a deal with nvidia to let it work. If anything it would be more impactful than stretched in denting some ego's if it was removed.

It won't change the outcome of games much because survivors objective is so simple and quick. But you will get a couple more hooks before the doors open.

Probably, I don't think there was as huge an epidemic of stretched res cheaters as many think.
That said, I also think many people who use it and have fooled themselves into thinking it wasn't actually helping will be in for a reality check.
