Lockers Are Far Too Loud
It feels like I'm the only one experiencing this, but it feels like overtime lockers have gotten louder and louder. I remember back in ~2019 they were dead silent, but now I can hear a survivor entering one while I'm 15 meters away.
Don't get me wrong, I don't like immersive gameplay in the slightest. But if they want to make hiding in lockers part of the game, then I shouldn't be able to hear a survivor enter one on the second story of a Badham house while I'm still in the road.
And this is coming from someone who plays 90% killer and always has.

Well, for starters... do not hold shift to enter/leave.
Secondly, there is a perk for this called Quick & Quiet.

My man, I'm talking about slowly entering it. You can hear a metal scraping noise even when someone slow vaults into it.
4 -
You still make noise even with that perk, you can hear survivors moan when they enter a locker with Q&Q

Lockers aren't silent, killers have ears.
You have to remember that killers have music playing the entire game, its not as silent as survivor music which has breaks in the music as well.
If they're able to hear it, more power to them.

Lockers are fine.

A really good headset can notice this.

I don’t have a problem with killers being able to hear someone going into or out of a locker. If lockers were completely silent it could lead to it being a little too easy to just dive into random lockers all the time to hide. Sure a killer can grab someone from a locker if they guess correctly someone is inside or happen to have a ping or blood trail or whatever but you definitely wouldn’t want the game devolving into a locker open simulator where a killer is constantly checking multiple lockers over and over because the best way to stall for time is just go hide in them.

Lockers are fine. They sound the same to me as they did back in 2018.

I'm complaining as a killer main, who's noticing it while playing killer. It only makes the game easier for me, but that's not exactly a good thing.

Do what I do, I don't play with sound/perks/powers. Even then I still 4k pretty much every game but it brings back a little bit of a challenge.
Good luck in trying to squeeze some challenge out of this killer sided cluster ######### of a game. I've hit the point where i dont even play till the gate are powered and its still to easy to 4k....

I mean it's a metal door opening and closing. I think it makes sense that it makes noises like that.
2 -
They're metal containers on a metal hinge. Even indoors completely sheltered they will make noise opening and closing, it makes alot of sense to me

As someone who played the game in 2016, no. They were never "dead silent."
They might have changed the sound, but the volume is about the same.

I have noticed this too. 15 m is a bit of an exaggeration but I can hear it a Chase if I'm within range I would say about 5 to 10 meter. Meaning I can hear it over the chase music over what me and the Survivor in the chase are doing. Im talking just slow enter.

Funny note since we on the subject.
I have more than a few clips on my Xbox of me downing the 3rd survivor then shooting crows in 3 directions killer instinct highlighting the 4th in a locker. I find it funny anyhow.

I swear people forget that you get killer instinct from that. The other day after I killed the 3rd survivor I knew the 4th was just hiding somewhere waiting for their teammate to die so I just sent crows to the shack lockers from across the map and there she was. After I pulled her out and killed her she accused me of cheating since I wasn’t running bbq. lol.
edit: to the main topic, locker noises are fine as is

Locker volume is fine.

The only loud locker issue I have is Iron Maiden spamming by survivors. Don’t get why that perk doesn’t have some kind of a cool down. Or why it enables Huntress and Trickster to reload faster.

Iron will + Q & Q, lol

Because...it takes up a perk slot? Might as well make it do something if no one ever enters a locker

The same would be true of every other killer. I thought the devs didn’t want perks to have unique interactions with certain killer powers? Guess they just didn’t like Small Game.
0 -
Well idk what the devs said, I'm just saying that's probably the reasoning behind why they probably reload faster with this perk, it's not like it helps Huntress and Trickster in the long run anyways

If it didn’t affect reload speed almost nobody would use it. That part of it is fine.
As for locker spamming with it, yes, that is annoying, and I’m glad it doesn’t happen more often than it does. Maybe you could change it so that instead of screaming, it shows the survivor’s aura for a few seconds upon exiting the locker.

You’re kidding right? 50% faster reloading, plus the good ol’ BBQ + Iron Maiden combo. Yes, it does help them very much. Meanwhile Huntress grabs one hatchet and reloads up to eight somehow.
Edit: typo.

I use lockers occasionally and I did say to myself that they sound rather loud. Quite sure they're louder but its not an issue imo

I'm sorry, I'm not following, is iron maiden 50% faster? And it's not like the survivors know that the killer has BBQ half the time, and go in a locker to avoid it anyways

Yeah, that’s what I was referring to. I did have a small typo I corrected, not sure if that’s what made the misunderstanding (this iPad loves to correct perfectly spelled words for me).
So these ranged killers get the benefit of faster reloads and if combo’d with BBQ (which why wouldn’t they) force survivors to choose between giving away their aura, or screaming and being exposed. Aside from being close to the hooked survivor. Cheap if you ask me.
I’ve started going way a bit off topic of OP’s post, so sorry if I don’t reply further.

Gotta disagree as well
I run Iron Maiden on Trickster and it's soooo good
I hate the downtime that reload killers have, so having a perk to mitigate this helps a lot with my game flow.

Do you really think I makes sense for the killer to spend 15+ seconds to pick up 8 hatches one at a time. Realism isn't that a big deal when the makn antagonist of the game is a giant black spider fog monster.

I like how you're commenting on the balance aspect of the locker door volume and people are like "Duh it's a metal door of course it's going to make a sound!"
I agree it might be a bit too loud. I also don't like how when you enter a locker you become blinded as soon as you press the button to enter but your aura is not blocked until you have completed the animation entirely. It's little inconsistencies like that that annoy me

I was talking about making noise while entering a locker with Q&Q, not inside the locker. Try entering a locker with Feng and Q&Q and you will hear yourself
