Why does a "stealth" killer have a lullaby?

Member Posts: 2,207

This really baffles me.

Why does Onryo have a 24m lullaby when demanifested? When she gets undetectable?

Sure it's quiet and doesn't give you and indicator on how close she is, but it still tells you "hey she's within 24m start running".

In fact while that's being answered why does trickster have one as well? He's harmless past 12m.

I went against a Retribution Trickster today. I know it also has the aura reveal function, but I’m curious if the player even knows about oblivious and lullabies. Lol.

    Because:

    1) It offers next to no hindrance to the killer, she is still the same speed regardless of whether she is in stealth or not (unlike Pig for example)

    2) Her stealth ability has no sort of cooldown on it, she can activate it at any time she wants (unlike Ghostface)

    3) Her power also comes with a game stall mechanic (unlike Wraith)

    4) The lullaby is barely audible, it only has a real effect when she's within 5 or 6 metres of a survivor (like Ghostface's rustling sound effects)

At the end of the day her power isn't the best in the game, however there are reasons that explain why the devs may not have wanted her to have complete stealth while demanifested, and her power still serves its purpose, sneaking up on survivors isn't all that challenging as Sadako.

It's def the most subtle and quietest lullaby we have

It's also nowhere near the range of Huntress/Tricksters. I'm p sure it's a much smaller lullaby radius because I've had times where I've heard it and she was really close to me
