Why Weren't Content Creators Banned for Advertising the OoO exploit?
Many content creators (I don't think I'm allowed to list names) were advertising the OoO + Blood Pact exploit on YouTube explicitly, showing how to do it, and using it in actual matches
If using exploits, and ESPECIALLY advertising exploits is against the rules, why was nothing done about it or no warnings given? And will they ban in the future for something like this?

Idk cause a certain “SOMEONE” hates BHVR now and I’m surprised they didn’t call them out on showing the exploit.
6 -
Because it's free content. Not to mention that it shows BHVR to Killswitch it.
5 -
They would need someone to submit a support ticket, and in order to do anything with that support ticket it would need an in game report.

Content creators who show case this stuff are the worst. Their smooth brain fans are always going to try this and they still push out the video knowing that fact. "But it brings attention to the issue" is a cop out to them blatantly exploiting.

That's not how someone's Twitch shirts were taken away ;)

Idk, I just find it strange that they didn't take any action against people using this exploit yet they did take action against the people using the infinite mending Legion bug back in the day. Seems like a weird double standard regardless of whether you think it should be a bannable offense or not.
While it is true that there was no killswitch back then and it's now much easier to disable stuff like this, it doesn't really make it any less scummy to take advantage of.
1 -
That was actually false. Even though they announced the legion bug was bannable they actually didn’t ban anyone who used the bug. It was all Fearmonger
3 -
? They did ban for it. People were pissed that they got banned randomly for playing legion once with the 2 mend addons. People even threatened to sue (given that they didnt read the news).

Scary things.

Are you surprised at BHVR's lack of consistency?
I mean, look at fog whisperers' requirements:
"Behaviour Interactive is looking for passionate streamers and video creators that have an established positive presence in the DbD Community and creator space."
That's literally what they say they look for and they have 'certain' fog whisperers who openly say they try to farm salt and who play as much as possible trying to antagonize other players.
If BHVR are so cognitevily dissonant to openly induct and support people like that, imagine how active could they get against randos advertising exploits on youtube.

Such a stupid excuse.
By that logic, its ok to kill someone and record it because its free content and it just shows the police to arrest me.
Stop seeking for stupid excuses because you cant play without exploits.

Exactly
Its just a fking stupid excuse these guys use.

Unrelated but put a Blight pfp on bro

I never understood the argument "we are just showing it to everyone so it gets fixed".
Yeah like it is not already there and bhvr is not aware.
It is just for views and people buy it because it is all wrapped in morality. Not to mention how it gets spread and even more people abuse it.

Probably best to not encourage witch hunts tbh
Personally I prefer the alternative of just laughing at the hypocrisy on display, one of the people in question can't take criticism yet will do stuff like this in service of "criticising" BHVR despite DBD being the only reason they are even relevant at all. Then they get to act like they did smth and pat themselves on the back when all they did in reality was go
"Guys. I'm making this video because BHVR didn't INSTANTLY fix thing..."
I know BHVR can drag their feet sometimes but they went from killswitching the perk to having it fixed instantly in the hotfix, which if you put 2 + 2 together is likely because it was reported to support before the weekend and was ready for the hotfix. But no they didn't consider that did they, because once again BHVR bad.

Same reason why Streamers can broadcast racist behaviours and they're not at fault.
Just about money.

And then when it does get fixed or whatever, regardless of when the devs started working on the problem (which in all likelihood was well before it was heavily publicised), the content-creator can claim credit and say "we did it" like it was all down to them and their video that got this end result.
Such small minds.

Content creators get special treatment because they bring an audience to the game.
1 -
Because all it gets BHVR is bad PR. Look at any game who has banned a content creator over "public awareness of exploits" and it's never gone down well.
1 -
Heaven forbid a streamer gers banned for cheating. If they have a large enough auduence, a streamer can commit cold blooded murder and their fans will defend them without thinking. I can name a few streamers that are blatant cheaters and theres bound to be some people in these forums that will get triggered.

Advertising exploits is almost certainly only about doing so in-game and doing so outside the game is not against the rules.
Even if it is an in-game report is required. Unless you play against someone who is posting exploits on their channel you can't report them.
The solution is to just ban everyone who abuses exploits. Use an exploit you saw someone post on Youtube = ban. Problem solved.

Especially when they release these on weekends when they know the devs don't work ✨

Banning content creators is bad for business

I'm not saying they should show bugs like that, it's just abusing a bug same as anyone and rightfully should get a ban. However it isn't a good PR move for BHVR. Look at someone like N00blShowtek, they were a huge Warframe youtuber and were partnered with DE, but they made a video showing how a bug that levelled your gear insanely quickly worked and got banned. It was the right move but DE got a LOT of flak for that.
The masses tend to believe anything's fair game if the devs break it.

Pretty sure BHVR can’t really ban people from the game for something they explicitly do outside of the game. Would be different if it happens in-game (chat), but that would still require a complete user report and nobody would do that..

Uploading video proof of yourself cheating with your own account would probably not be too much of a stretch for them to ban, as long as they were sure they had the right account.
2 -
Yeah… it should be enough but in this case, it’s not exactly cheating but (intentionally) exploiting a bug and they have sadly stated they need an in-game report and additional player report ticket. I do really hope they will rework this whole report system.
1 -
Your right. The masses tend to have a mob mentality and often scream for the sake of screaming.

How would Behaviour even know a given survivor isn’t just using that perk combo by chance? They would never ban people just for using a combination of perks.

I agree. Making a Video for the sake of being a Clout Goblin knowing it'll pull views and saying phrases like "Guys don't do this we're just bringing attention to a problem" when there's an entire bug report section on the Forums and didn't that same person say he had someone from behavior reach out to him over an error they were getting why didn't you just pass it forward to that person instead of making a video about it.
Same for the yamaoka infinite videos ngl Content Creators should start being held more accountable you aren't above the playerbase, nor should you be making exploit videos knowing this brings unwanted attention causing everyone and their mother to abuse the Exploits. They need to realize they're part of the problem to be totally honest.
I hope we see some type of Punishment moving forward in the future for this kinda behavior.

I know one did it strickly to force BHVR to killswitch it after it was reported days prior.
1 -
They banned people for using double mend add-ons on Legion when it was bugged
1 -
They had a pop up message in game that told people not to use those add-ons. Nobody got banned without warning. This was before the advent of the killswitch as well.
They wouldn’t ban players for using a perk combo that the devs hadn’t warned about and which wasn’t killswitched.
1 -
Also can we get rid of the “using the ____ build” with there nea or feng outlined in white With the killer behind them in the thumbnail. And the repetitive intros with there fengs or neas all zoomed in into the camera. It’s so annoying lmao
4 -
Sure he did.

Which is exactly why you cannot trust any fog whisperer's opinion. That event only made this pretty clear.
I've systematically unsubbed from any streamer becoming fog whisperer, and sometimes came back to the few who lost that label.

It was for that Youtube money
