[Feedback] Change BBQ aura to NOT be blocked by the new bright gens (PS4/XBOX)
BBQ auras should not be blocked by the generators/made a different color, etc. Every survivor whines about "camping", yet with "smart" survivors hiding behind the generators or high ranking people with 3 low rank bodyguards within 12 meters at all times, it kinda make BBQ slightly a joke as the whole point of the perk is to cycle through people to gain points and NOT camp!
Ya know what the best solution that I can offer those survivors that do not like to be tunneled and camped?
DON'T GET CAUGHT! LOL!!!
Thanks for listening (and fix BBQ devs...)!

How do you "fix" a perk which is working as the devs intended it to work? It's more like you are asking for a straight buff.
I personally don't know what is worse, lockers or gens blocking aura. But I think one of them has to go, especially with the perk of Jeff. That's just my opinion.5 -
It’s the best perk in the game, get over yourself. Maybe have some intuition instead of having the game make your decisions for you.

That’s not what I said. What I’m saying is the fact you KNOW people can hide behind gens and in lockers, but ALWAYS assume no aura means they’re near. You’re your own undoing

They are only in the locker to block bbq, then they exit. You shouldn’t go looking in lockers, you should realize you actually have to look for people for once.

Thanks for your reply!Yeah, that’s how they Made. Otherwise it would ENCOURAGE camping. If you knew definitely that people were near, and saw those far away, it’d be insanely powerful. It’s already the best perk on the game, and has a double point boost to boot

If you get an early hook and see no aura, camp them out of the game - You'll basically set yourself up for a guaranteed 2k minimum.
I've strictly facecamped to Rank 1, and most games were still at least 3k, haha.0 -

Lockers and Discordance both diminish BBQ's viability.

Well git gud. You're obviously not that good if you're complaining about BBQ not showing people behind gens. As a killer you should be able to find survivors without it. It's not a big deal. I've been playing since August 2017 on xbox and joined PC on August 2018 (strange coincidence) and I'm not much of an achievement earner. But I play the game for fun. Not to get achievements.
Look at the fun side of the game and play to have fun. If you're complaining about BBQ, then you clearly want to 4k like that game you shown every game don't you? My advice is, calm down, play for fun, stop attacking survivors.

So... let me get this straight... it is now the objective to magically find people throughout the entire map within 5 minutes before the gates open without some "idea" of where anyone is... and without camping and waiting for them to come to me... as the other "three" repair the gens with urban evasion and no scratch marks while they hang on the vine.
Sounds like survivor talk. No killer would say that is good times. Zero. LOL!
But, yeah, started August 2018 on PS4 and last month on XBOX.
And, sure, I am NOT "good" by any stretch of the imagination. I have made it to Rank 7 and working this season on making it higher as all the achievements that I can do are finished, but with sandbaggers with 3 body guards in the game, at rank 10 right now, I am in a tough spot and venting. LOL!
With an obviously SWF, I get stomped on and everyone gets out and usually only hook one person once as they pallet loop/etc while the other three pop gens very fast with great skill checks.
Just wanting a bone thrown at me is all.
Maybe I will just turn into a camper and screw it all. LOL! GG. See ya in game!

The sad part is I know these people complaining about BBQ being too strong and say the new limitations are deserved are the exact same people who will cry if the killer doesn't leave the hook to find somebody else.

You should just camp. If you can't deal with a SWF as Spirit it's your only option. Also finding people is so easy unless your tracking sucks. Btw you said you've been playing for a while but you just said since August 2018? Naw you need to experience true sweaty survivors before you complain.
Also you're saying that Urban Evasion counters your playstyle which says a LOT. If you can't find survivors with Urban Evasion, then I'd suggest playing for longer and trying to understand the game for both sides rather then complaining that life is tough. You're biased to one side and you will not open your mind to arguements on the other side.
My advice, play survivor and killer equally, then come back in 3-4 months and tell me if you still believe in this 'buff'. I used to be a survivor main btw. Now I'm a neutral player. Whenever I say something I look at both standpoints. It makes my opinions more 'valid'. Obviously sometimes I have weird af opinions but normally they make sense. Sorry but I can't take you seriously when you think Urban Evasion is OP (as suggested by your comment earlier when you said it doesnt make scratch marks), you think every game will have a SWF waiting to genrush you and you don't understand what survivors think or try to predict.
Honestly, become a neutral player and @ me on this post after you've reached rank 1 for both. I would love to see how your opinions change.
Good luck if you decide to learn both sides .

Just go old school like before bbq and check each gen. Killers had it way harder before, you couldn't even break the gen so all of them were up to 99% which meant you had all gens up to check at all times, since survivors popped all 5 at the same time.
BBQ was broken, was supposed to be counter by gen aura. They just fixed it so it works now, that is the fix lol.0 -

@Vietfox lol I think hes playing a different game to us. But Seriously @BlackViperCom You patrol the gens like a killer is suppose to and you will find survivors. There was a time when B&Q wasnt in the game and killers were getting 4k games. Plus killers were given a perk to counter people getting in lockers. Iron Maiden. You are getting stubborn with your perk and blaming the devs and game before adapting to the situation. Plus the surviviors will be getting complete blind status when they enter the lockers in a future update.

If someone is far enough away to be seen by BBQ, then them getting out of a locker and being "exposed" for 15 seconds is not even nearly enough time for the killer to get over to that side of the map, find them, and hit them before the 15 seconds are up. Iron Maiden, if it's going to be useful and not just another useless perk, needs a major buff to the timer.
1 -
I'm not a fan of the amount of counters to BBQ either I mean it's a perk which can be countered by survivors now by hiding behidn a gen or going into a locker or going within the 40m distance or by Distortion tokens or by just good hiding after tracking wears off. I barely know any perk/ability with so many counters.
BBQ is a good perk, which rewarded the killer with oversight over the map and what is happening, after a chase. Of course you can patrol gens and stuff to find people. Finding your next victim isn't an issue under normal circumstances. But that oversight is nice. Now as a killer you are more in the unknown of what is happening a bit. And that's makes putting pressure on survivors sometimes much harder,. Especially, if you aren't playing a high mobile one or didn't happento play on a map with good oversight in general.
But let me tell you one thing: If you have problems with BBQ tracking now, try learn using Whispers. It's perk which much less counters and still works like it always used to. It's also the way veteran killer tracked before BBQ came out. The only thing you might look for is a good guide. I haven't learned or mastered it by myself. But it's quite reliable for tracking.

Plus the surviviors will be getting complete blind status when they enter the lockers in a future update.I think everyone is playing a different game than me or just deranking to stay at 15 where needing help finding people is NOT an issue at all. Not sure if it is the case on PC's but I have literally heard survivor crys where no survivors are and the chase music completely overpowers any other audio. After exit gates open, using audio to find anyone hiding away to suck up more points via totems or hatch camping is impossible with the music playing. If I camp, I am abused and the game lasts way longer. In two story maps/buildings, the "survivors" sound exactly the same if they are on the same level or not. Maybe if the survivors had a red stain like I do and no ability to "crouch and hide" and could not talk to each other and report where I am or I had the tools to NOT need aura help finding peoples general direction, things would be different.
Also, yes... I have two P3-50 survivors and getting caught and camped/tunneled sucks... so... yeah, I get it... but when someone gets hooked, I also HIDE and not get caught... which is how one does not get camped so why are people complaining that I want to LEAVE the hook to freely rescue someone while that person gets points to do so and a better chance at getting out vice me camping the hook and pissing off at least two people... #########?
I phreaking hate ruin as a survivor but I now run it to slow the game down to even find one person while they run around looking for the totem. I use iron grasp because since Jeff hit the streets, everyone breaks hooks to get the trophies (adapting to the situation?) and I need extra time to get to another hook. I use deer stalker as I suck at remembering where someone went down if I get rushed by body guards. To counter people hiding in lockers, now I need Iron Maiden. To counter gen rushing, I need Discordance... That is 5 perks folks... without BBQ... So... yeah, with lots of possible "play styles", I run general perks to cast the widest net to have the best chance at not deranking as I am still trying to climb the ladder, but I cannot counter everything... which means lots of crap is broken to me (good players get away from me really easy, but I cannot do that as a survivor), but with brighter gen auras (thank you) and hidden auras in lockers, I feel BBQ is now broken. 100% BP bonus? Sure... IF and only if one actually hooks all 4 once in the game... it is not automatic. LOL! If I camp, I get way less points as I am not cycling through people and they only get hooked once. It is best for everyone to "fix" or "buff" or whatever you want to call it, BBQ at this point so people use it instead of camping all the time.
Right?!?
Anyway, thanks for the discussion!

Maybe you have vision or monitor problems.

Question... Are you on console or PC? Is whispers directional? I will try it tonight as when I used it before, I thought it "whispered" in both ears to say someone was around and not actually directional but I seriously don't know and babeling. LOL!
At level 3, it is 32 meters distance... which in my mind is a long way and "large" search area just to know someone is around and hiding. Might help the locker situation while running Iron Maiden as I would be within 32 meters instead of on the other side of map with BBQ, but again, running two perks to counter one single action should not be intended, but who knows really.
I used whispers a bit but generally when I am trying to find someone, the "music" is playing (AKA after exit gates open and people are hiding around the hatch) or the game decides I actually am chasing someone but have not seen them yet and drowns out any crys/whispers anyway.
As a side note of which nobody even has mentioned... when I spirit walk, auras go away anyway... so BBQ actually is NOT a good fit for my favorite killer, but with the Whispers advice above... I will see what happens. Thanks @Freudentrauma

It’s the best perk in the game, get over yourself. Maybe have some intuition instead of having the game make your decisions for you.
So I need to predict the future and be clairvoyant to play a game? I your solution. Why didn't I think of that?!? Oh, I know... because it is ridiculous. LOL!
Take that quote and direct it to everyone who doesnt have bbq and chili. Stop being a dick. You get to see people when you hook people AND get bp bonus. You want it to give you instant kills also?
That is the point... I do NOT see the auras when I hook people. They are either hovering close by a person they are guarding that I hooked, behind a generator or in a locker... Now whom is being a dick? I never asked for instant kills, I am asking for a perk that shows auras to actually show the auras. That is all... LOL! Seriously... I guess the devs listen to the 4 times more survivor cryers than a killers reasoning of a perk that no longer works as written with "brighter" gen auras and locker blindness... get it now?
AND I QUOTE: After hooking a Survivor, all other Survivors' Auras are revealed to you for 4 seconds when they are farther than 40 metres from the Hook.
All except those hiding in lockers and behind existing bright auras... which means... this perk is "broken as written"... so fix the perk or fix the description. That is all I want.
With other people stating "hiding behind generators is intended"... then fine... fix the description from "ALL" to "everyone except survivors in lockers" which will help those that think people in lockers ARE revealed when they ARE NOT!

Also, at the 40 meter mark, it would take the average killer 9 seconds to get there... and the survivor in that period of time, could run in the opposite direction (not like where the survivor is hooked is a secret)... they can run 36 meters in the opposite direction in that 9 seconds, which means that having BBQ and the average killer, I just closed the gap by... 4 meters in 9 seconds. Survivors can crawl, in 9 seconds, 6.3 meters... So, I closed LESS of a gap with BBQ than what a survivor can do by crawling away? Really?
Givin I play Spirit, it takes less time than that, but I also cannot see the auras while spirit walking, so I can travel that distance real fast, but have to follow 40 meters of no scratch marks to 36 meters with scratch marks and then usually need to "look around" to see if they Urban Evaded, etc...
This is overpowered?!?

No. You reek of entitlement. I'll just say I strongly disagree with this change. And if you can't see that tiny bit of their hand sticking out then you need to...Dev 3-78 with 95% achievements (including DLC with Plat on PS4) and I am entitled? Been playing for awhile. My bad as I am "already gud" LOL! :P

Discuss...You can’t use “average killer”. For perks like these, you must ALWAYS keep thevfact that hillbilly exists in mind. Him with bbq on rotten Fields is straight undeniable cancer. Also it does show auras as intended, and gens are meant to block ahead, which is why the gen color changed to a deeper color, to better block auras. Also lockers are solely dedicated to blocking auras, so a random ass perk shouldn’t defeat that entire purpose. Same goes for distortion.

The biggest reason why it is so commonly used is...because it boosts your BP two times for very easy action that you will surely do each game.WGLF is the equivalent of BBQ for survivors, minus the aura reading (while useful, it's not as game breaking as you may think so), however... WGLF forces you to play pretty altruistic, often farming other survivors. Not everyone likes to be altruistic and getting said stacks isn't as easy as hooking all 4 survivors once.
If it would be as easy to gain stacks as with BBQ (trivial action), I guarantee you almost all survivors would run it too.1 -

Speaking of that, I wish for WGLF to be buffed, in that there are more ways to get tokens.

So instead of using an average killer on all maps, you want my baseline to be a single killer on a single map? Great way to balance perks! Awesome suggestion! No wonder you are so giving with your opinions! They are fantastic way to balance a game!

Quit cherry picking what I say. I’m saying it should always be kept in mind if some perk or add on will break some function of the game. This is the exact reason tinkerer was completely changed. Quit putting words in my mouth.

So what function does a single perk on a single map with a single killer break the entire game? I quoted exactly what you said. You want to balance a perk that you feel is "cancer" with a single killer on a single map and I want that perk balanced across all killers on all maps... how am I putting words in your mouth? It is your words! LOL!
