Condemnation Lost AGAIN
Okay, this has happened yet again. I need this explained to me.
SCENARIO:
A Survivor gets all their stacks of Condemned and gets the Red Oreo Of Death™. I then chase the Survivor to try to get off her special Stare mori.
At some point during the chase, the Survivor LOSES the red Condemned status and is no longer mori-able.
Important: the Survivor did NOT return a tape.
How the hell does this keep happening, and why?

Maybe they did put it in a TV and you just couldn't see its aura because it was turned off.

No, this is happening MID-CHASE.
Like, I never lose sight of the Survivor. Not even for a second. The red circle just times out or something like I was playing Ghostface or something.

I've kind of felt that myself, but then I haven't played her much.

I just wish BHVR would make a statement. I don't care which. Just tell me if I am screwed cause they input some untrackable timer ("You have 30 seconds to get the Mori or the Survivor recovers"), or come out and state it is an unintentional bug.
1 -
It would be insane if that was an intended mechanic next to the other requirements.
(The following information is all from hearsay)
It takes ages for condemn to go up even when deactivating tvs or carrying tapes and then the Mori able status can be instantly removed by inserting a tape into a tv MID-CHASE.
Getting this Mori sounds already like the stars would've to align for it and then having a timer on it as well? Ludicrous 😂

I've actually gotten this mori numerous times. It seems to me that - in my games, at least - survivors don't seem to think they're actually at risk from it.
Anyway, last night I managed to condemn someone during the EGC, they then tried to mind game me at a palllet for well over a minute. The condemned status never left. In the end they just gave up and accepted the mori.

was the survivor playing as elodie? elodie's icon is glitched that makes her icon look like she is condemened while injured

you know how weak this onryo is. The moment survivor get condemned it should be exposed and killer can more on the condemned, it will be more fair.

Not really, an onryō player could chase someone ALL match without getting a single hit, just waiting for nearby TVs to turn back on just to get an insta down and mori. Even then, the devs themselves have said that condemnation isn't supposed to have its ultimate effect often, it simply acts as a game stall similar to Reverse Bear Traps or the Lament Configuration.
0 -
I had that happen as well a few times, really stupid and annoying.
0 -
tbh game stall isnt that good with onryo.
Way better with pig.
0 -
I agree, but I believe it's somewhat made up for by her significantly better map-pressure
0 -
No, I know for a fact that all three times the Survivor's icon was correct because I got the Killer Instinct prompt after teleporting.
0 -
Yea, only thing i REALLY hate is how condemed survivors can easily and almost instantly insert tapes midchase to remove the effect.
Should take a bit longer considering it takes ages to fill it up

You got outplayed
2 -
There isn't any natural decay on the Condemned mechanic other than inserting the tape...if you believe the tape wasn't inserted in this case, then please make a bug report on this, as that's definitely not intended behaviour. I would advise recording some of your matches with regards to this as this seems to be very rare and no other bugs are listed with survivors losing condemned status.

To be fair, how hard is it to put a video tape in a VCR? I get that we're well past that ere, but still. :P
0 -
I would say it's extremely hard to do while in a full run with a killer trying to murder you at your heels.
1 -
I would argue that it would be faster to do while being chased in real life than in the game because VCRs will just suck in the tape once you push it in far enough. :P
0 -
Well, just make them drunk.. :P
0 -
Well actually maybe let there be on broken tape inside already which they have to remove first.
That could work.
0 -
You sound like you have clearly never broken and jammed a VCR tape for trying to shove it in too hard.
1 -
i think i even recorded one clip so i will send it to support once i am home
0 -
Feel free to make a bug report here - QA and myself check all of them.
1 -
That's not a bad idea, at least as far as explaining why it takes longer.
My destroyed VHS tape of Aladdin: The Animated Series begs to differ. :P

Is it a bug, or is this just another case of a hacker trying to be "subtle"
0 -
Her map pressure is limited by the 100 second cooldown on the tvs. Her cooldowns are way to long for her only power on a m1 killer.
0 -
Was it an Elodie?
0 -
I thought I was tripping because I tried to mori an Elodie. Dunno what happened or if I just suck
0 -
Pretty sure Elodie is bugged rn, anytime shes injured the fully Condemned thing pops up on her portrait. This happens against any killer
EDIT: Could just be me tripping tho and thats just her fro
0 -
Yeah, it's confusing. Elodie's injured icon makes it look like she's condemned, but if she really is you will get killer instinct and there will be a steady red circle around the outside of her icon (not the blinking red that you get with her injured icon). You can see the blinking red on her icon when she's injured no matter which killer you're playing.
That said, OP mentioned above that in their case killer instinct did go off, so the person should've been mori-able. 🤷♂️

I've had this happen 3 times so far as well, seems to be on some hidden timer. All were mid chase and around 20-30 seconds into it.
