What is the benefit of having high MMR as a killer in DbD?

There are no stats or visible MMR rank which you could compare to others ranking/stats, so I wonder what's the point.

Why should there be a benefit? There is no benefit of having high MMR for either side (maybe for Survivors to actually have competent teammates, but thats about it).

Because you are not actively working to get high MMR, MMR is the result of your games. You play to rank up, get BPs, have fun or whatever, and how you did while doing that is the side product-->MMR.

It is not there to reward anyone, but to have fair match-ups where players of somewhat equal skill level can play against each other. So the only "reward" would be exciting games, not those where you stomp 4 Survivors or you get stomped by them.

However, as we know how MMR is calculated and by many opinions on this forum, the system is not really working. As Killer I had a game where I won against some new Survivors very quickly followed by a game where I got 2 Hooks after 4 Gens were done on Shelter Woods (which is a good Map for Killer). Back to back, does not make any sense.

As Survivor I faced a godlike Blight in one game, followed by a Pig who did not know how to run any Tiles at all, making the first experience a quite bad one because of not having a real chance and the second one also not good, because it was way too easy and not fun at all.

So, yeah... assuming MMR would be actually working, you would not really get a reward, only balanced matches if you see this as a Reward. But it is a side-product overall.

Is there just to make your game feel miserable, old MMR was 100 times better

    Bragging rights would be nice

It's probably only hidden because they know it doesn't work, hah

Honestly, I am happy that it is hidden. Because otherwise we would have the same discussions we already had with Ranks "You are not Red Rank, you dont know anything!"...

I had someone questioning me that I am not at Rank 1 as Killer due to my opinions. I showed a screenshot and then they claimed that it is probably not me in the screen, despite having the same name...

Same stuff would happen with a visible MMR. "Oh, your MMR is only 1799, but under 1850 you dont have any idea what you are talking about".

Getting a high MMR is a byproduct of playing well. It's not a goal. It's just there to (ideally) ensure you aren't facing people substantially less/more experienced than you are.

Your 'goal' is to get better and facing proportionally better opponents.

Sure, but that was usually true. If you could not reach Red Ranks you probably didn't know what you were talking about. Rank 1 was trivial to get on both sides. If you could not get that....well why take their opinions on game balance seriously?

You would have people in here crying about Doctor and stuff, and knowing they were like rank 20 or something made it make a lot more sense.

Nothing. Low mmr isn't good either because it's boring. You want to be in the middle where survivors still make mistakes and every lobby isn't a 4 man ttv squad.

Because, as some smart person once said: 'my butt has been a butt for a long time, but that doesn't mean I have to listen to anything it says'.
