Anniversary Chapter
What do you think the anniversary chapter is gonna be? Also I doubt it's FNAF. The newspapers are just that, newspapers. They are in literally everything. Especially horror. You can answer FNAF sure if you think it is but I'm just saying that I doubt it's FNAF. There are no teases connecting to it specifically yet or probably anything and it doesn't fit.
Edit: I've said this in the past in various places before but I'm just gonna keep guessing RE Part 2 until I'm right. I do think it might happen because it's the type of franchise that makes more sense to do it with.

I would love to see Jason but I wouldn't play him much since his own game exists. That's the main problem Jason would struggle with. The characters are so limited in DBD because of how it works and in his own game he has his full power.

Hopefully an Original character... Kind of sick of half-baked licensed killers coming to DBD now.
Out of the last 5 killers, only 2 were original. Fingers crossed, we get to some new face.

His game has been discontinued and finished for a long time and the rights are just about free again after the suit, it's more plausible than ever before. I still doubt it but it's what I'd want the most. As long as it's a movie license

I hope it's Fnaf or Slenderman. I loved playing the indie horror games and jumping out of my seat back in High School. Both designs and background fits perfectly with in Dead by Daylight.
I know it's not gonna be either but those are the 2 IPs I always wanted to see in-game and seeing one of them in an Anniversary Chapter would be a dream come true
Also the Tweets are unrelated to Fnaf because tweets match similar ones from a year ago and.....has not been 2 weeks since Ringu so why would they start teasing now.

Yeah his game is finished but like I said you are playing Jason in that game with all of his powers. That's just what the DBD one will struggle with.

I sure hope the aniversary chapter, whatever it may be, will introduce a new map. I miss the days where chapters came with maps. Now it's such a rarity to have a map with a chapter. Out of the last 5 major chapters, only 2 came with maps, one which is universally hated despite its looks. I don't even care about killer / survivors, I won't see most of them anyways since the same 5 or so killers get played all the time. A new map on the other hand, that would be nice, since it actually makes it feel like there's new content in the game that I have a chance to experience. Who's still playing Pinhead, Artist, or Trickster? When I actually see one I'm pleasantly surprised.
Maps. Give me maps. Maps is where it's at!

Any specific picks? Zombies would be really cool on a killer they fit on. Maybe Walking Dead or Dying Light would be awesome. A lot of possibilities with zombies depending on what you choose.

I'd actually like them to base it off the books mainly. I think that would be a nice change. Still Walking Dead and something we thought we would never see. My 2nd pick would be the games. And the specific character from the games would be Lee.

I've not loved a killer since Oni and Ghostface so I'm hoping that its like 12th time lucky and its one that I ll really want to play often. I'll be proper disappointed if its the robot bunny or someone drab like candyman.

I have no idea and I think we have too little to go on for a proper guess, especially when some of their hints are way out there.
Indie wise I'd prefer Slenderman over FNAF and for normal horror I'd take Chucky as my first pick with Jason being number two.
In a way, I really want them to start teasing an animatronic killer of some kind and then have it be the Banana Splits just because it would cause so much chaos.
I also think we are way overdue for Candyman. I feel like they hinted at that way back when and something went awry and now they're just sitting on it.
I'd also not quite literally kill for some kind of anime killer. Just my general thoughts so far.

The newspapers are on DBD mobile Twitter not the main game DBD twitter. It would be odd for them to start using their mobile game - that is considered a separate game, doesn't share release dates or an anniversary date - to start teasing the next chapter for the main game that's 3 months away only 3 days after the main game released a licensed chapter that isn't even on mobile yet.
For anniversary I could see Alien or Jason because definitely have killer, survivor, map and they would be big licenses to grab. They both are iconic and don't have half the community hating them.
Chucky or Candyman while I LOVE them I don't see as anniversary chapter but I do think they'll eventually come to the game. Any Stephen King would probably be anniversary but since Dave Richard even said he was a dream chapter in interview during promo of Ringu I don't think we'll be seeing anything this anniversary.

It's really hard to predict who the upcoming killers will be, I definitely would not have guessed Ringu, Resident Evil or Silent Hill as chapters for instance. But I guess if the anniversary killer is another licensed one the front runners are probably (in no particular order)
- Five Nights at Freddy's - I never played the game but it's obviously super popular and I don't see a reason why it wouldn't work
- It - Pennywise could be a fantastic killer. Although I have a feeling if they were going to do this they probably would have done it around when the movies came out for the marketing synergy.
- Jason - Apparently some of the legal issues around Friday the 13th were cleared up last year or something? 🤷♂️ I'm sure Behaviour wanted Jason in the game from the outset so he's always in the running. (Although it'd be interesting to see how they differentiate him from Trapper mechanically.)
- Alien - A little more of a dark horse but the Alien would fit right into the slot Demogorgon sadly has left vacant in the store of a monstrous bestial killer. The hitch would be Alien is owned by Marvel and Disney and it wouldn't shock me if they kept Alien in reserve for Alien specific video games.
- The Shining - Not so much for the killer, but I could definitely see Behaviour interested in adding The Overlook Hotel as a realm with a map for the Hotel and a map for the Topiary maze
- Slenderman - This is a popular request, I could see it happening
- Child's Play - Victor and Sadako being in the game as mechanically practical raises the hope that they could get Chucky in the game if they worked out the licensing.
- Candyman - A popular request. Again, though, it feels like they would have tried to add him when they did the remake.
- Various classic horror movie killers - They could also go in the direction of the classics like a vampire, a werewolf, a mummy, etc. Some of them aren't even under copyright, as long as they aren't doing the Universal Studios versions.
Among ones I'd like to see but I'm more doubtful of
- Phantasm - This could be a great chapter. Tall Man with his floating pinballs of death, the mortuary as the map, I'd love to see this. It's not as well known a franchise though outside of horror movie buffs.
- Supernatural - I'd love a Supernatural pack with Sam and Dean Winchester and a Demon as the killer. It feels like if they did it though they would have done it while the show was on the air.
- Jeepers Creepers - The Creeper would be a fun killer but there's too much baggage associated with this franchise, I doubt it would ever happen.
- The Thing - I would LOVE to see The Thing as a chapter, it's a fantastic killer and the Antarctic research base would be a cool map (no pun intended). And a shapeshifting killer would be neat because, even if the survivors aren't easily fooled into thinking it's a survivor, it would still have inherent Undetectability when it's mimicking them which is already solid ability on its own. However, I suspect they already internally played around with a killer that mimics survivors and nixed the idea in testing (I would not at all be surprised based on their trailer if one of the original concepts for Legion was exactly a killer that appears to be a survivor.) But man, am I rooting for this one!
- Final Destination - One of my favorite horror franchises, a "killer" that is the environment trying to kill survivors just sounds thematically pretty awesome. But I have no idea how they'd pull it off mechanically.

If they decided to go for classic monsters i'd rather if they make their own version of it, kinda like how Hag was inspired by wendigos.

I thought Hag was inspired by African/Caribbean mysticism...but mostly the Blair Witch (her traps even resemble the BW insignia)?
He's another one of those 'inevitable' killers.
Right now, especially after Sadako, I'm less interested in the license and more interested in whether the killer is going to be any good.

Well I think it's FNAF, the helped wanted ads from the news paper that correlates with FNAF help wanted news paper ads. Not to mention. The phone tweet dbd posted today and the party hats with confetti pic dbd has posted
Not to mention one of the devs want balloon animals for this anniversary chapter. With all this I'm believing it's FNAF, but it's totally fine if it isn't or it is.

jasons licensing issues stem mostly from the friday the 13th game, which kinida set the stage for DBD. not to mention movie rights and merch and stuff, but yeah i guess some of that was done away with already. I don't think hes totally set to be in the game, YET, but i really hope its soon. Jason has the highest body count of any slasher film icon.

pretty sure hag is mostly inspired by the blair witch. The elongated arms are a dead giveaway, the sigils, the general appearance

I think is Pinhead, there's a character in-game who looks a lot like him and may be a hint.
Jokes aside, i have no idea, can only tell who I'd like to see the most. Sometimes I believe you see what you want to see in those "teases" just like some people saw Pinhead, others Springtrap and even Pennywise due to that "two clown emoji" tweet, during the hellriser chapter.
I just want it to be fun, have some changes (like grind tho I'm dreaming) and please a map (I love indoor maps even if chaotic).

If it was "Bobby's Boys" one of them would have teased a little bit - most likely Jensen.... but my heart would melt to see them "in action" again after 15 seasons.
