tell me something, why this wasn't fair but this is?
As far as I can remember, before Spirit/stridor got nerfed, there was many post saying she needs nerfs and such, but many said just use iron will to counter her (yes you could use stridor but that's not the point)
And for some reasons, survivors or at least those talking about it, weren't happy with this idea and didn't like the idea of needed 1 perk to counter a killer, you shouldn't require a perk to counter a killer! they said.
BUT
For some reasons, Spine chill, which reveals the killer is heading towards you, before you hear the TR, and even if they are a stealth killer, who are undetectable, which totally remove any stealth capabilities and let survivors hide before the killer even gets close to the survivors.
Is totally fine, it's totally fine to have 1 perk which will reveal ANY killer is heading towards you in a 36M range, but 1 perk to counter Spirit's power totally wasn't fair.
I ######### hate survivors logic.

The killer doesn't need a perk to turn around and moonwalk to the gen though do they?
38 -
The fact that they have perks to counter killers in general is annoying.
9 -
so how do we see survivors walking away and hide if we don't look at them while they can see us when they hide behind trees and walls? nice logic you have there, can be used in indoor maps, but any other maps you make total no sense, i'd love to see you play killer for a few matches and think all of them have spine chill and walk backward all the time, let's see how often you catch survivors.
6 -
Yes, yes it is

Agreed, survivors should only have perks that help them survive. As killers should only have perks that help them kill.
1 -
I wouldnt go that far.

This content has been removed.
-
Why not? What's your reasoning on that?
Honestly having perks that counter killers makes survivor which is already easy mode even easier in my opinion. Others will certainly disagree, but killers have been weak for years which is why only a few are played the most. A lot of them just aren't viable. While the game isn't technically a competitive one, the way ranks and BP works makes it one. This causes people to only use a select few viable killers.
The real issue is trying to balance a 1v4 game.
2 -
The killer perks to just help them kill is to far. Because gen tunneling (lul) will be everyones go to.

The difference is Iron Will takes away all sound, which pretty extreme. Whereas a cat lighting up when the killer is looking at you, which doesn't tell you their intent or direction or anything, how is that OP?
8 -
I wouldn't call it OP against most killers but ghostface's power literally requires you to look at survivors for a few seconds. Spine chill at least shouldn't work against stalking killers and at most shouldn't work with undetectable killers.
4 -
Lol at the guy advocating moonwalking towards every gen all game from across the map. What a joke
11 -
Then what do survivors have that helps against Undetectable? Unless you're asking us to use Premonition?
7 -
Are we supposed to moon walk all game or what?
1 -
Sure don't activate if a ghostface or myers is mid stalk animation but I feel like it it didn't work against undetectable it would make the perk extremely redundant
4 -
What do you do when phasing and the survivor you're going after is walking
If you said use your hearing you would be correct
2 -
I mean, you do still scream, but yeah i mean how often does that happen?
0 -
It's not that hard to fool Spine Chill.
8 -
Heck it's funny to find someone who relies on it too much that you're able to get a grab off lol
3 -
I agree, ridiculous.
1 -
I just watch the grass to see if it moves where they walk, along with my hearing.
*shrug*
2 -
they should have nothing at all, period, use your eyes or if they hide well they deserve the hits
0 -
Where did I say "from across the map"? Once you're about 8 seconds away from the gen, just turn to the side and boom 🤯🤯 you completely bypass Spine Chill. Either that or stop complaining about mediocre survivor perks.
6 -
So you do expect us to moonwalk everywhere.
lmao.
2 -
I don't think it should work when stalking killer like ghost face or Michael are actively stalking. but it should still work against them if there in stealth and not stalking
1 -
When else is Spine Chill useful for detecting the killer other than when you're on a gen? People use it to prevent being grabbed. So if you want to ambush someone on a gen who has Spine Chill, moonwalk.
If they're doing anything else, Spine Chill doesn't help them in any way, all they know is that you're looking at them, they don't know where you are, or even if you're committing to their direction.
So if you think I'm saying "moonwalk everywhere" when I'm saying "moonwalk when you're approaching a gen" you might need to work on your inference skills.
6 -
Cuz it lets people tailor their experience toward what they, in particular, like or dislike.
Don't like stealth killers? Spine chill. Feel like you're getting tunneled? DS. Are you a bad looper? Windows of opportunity.
If you boil the perks down to "unga bunga kill better" you and up with a vastly simplified game that loses a lot of it's appeal.

Not if you have calm spirit....

I saw this one
Survivor ran Killer for 4 Gens, then died to camping, Survivor complained about why they dropped MMR when they ran for 4 Gens.
Killer: if you die, then you arent as good as you thought.
The same Killer complained about MMR where every Survivor is good at running
So running for 4 Gen and die by camping is good or not good?

That's what I was thinking, but he was talking about IW

Survivors have their eyes and basic game sense to know when the killer is coming towards them (after a hook, seeing a dropped chase etc). Plus SWF callouts if you have a SWF.
1 -
No, Spine Chill is perfectly fine. Is it even that popular? I don't see it all too often tbh. Plus, it's a great base perk for beginners who aren't familiar with the game and gives them a chance against stealth killers (who are pretty scary when you're new to the game).
As someone else has pointed out, all it tells you is if the killer is looking in your direction. It doesn't tell you if they're heading towards you, nor what direction they're coming from. If it's lit up for an extended period of time, it means that a stealth killer is close by, but most survivors with a fair few hours in the game know to rotate their cameras (particularly on gens) so they can anticipate a stealth killers movements... they don't need a perk to tell them that information because they use their eyes.

Moonwalking shouldnt be needed to counte something.
1 -
Spine chill is by far my most used perk.
Its almost in all my builds and i really love that perk but its definitely waaay too strong against stealth killers.
Moonwalking isnt something they should be required to do!
3 -
Look around like killers have to?
1 -
i agree i used to run iron will and still do i find it a good perks which sometimes even let me escape chases...
The idea of a pekr countering a killer. I dont think a perk should counter a killer. Spine chill does kind off counter stealth but you can walk backwards or sideways to them... Iron will doesnt even counter spirit... you can see scratch marks and grass moving.
spinechill is a boring perk becasue you can play really shady and laid back making games takes ages if you want. the only real killer i think getting affected by spine chill in a super negative way is ghostface / myers since they have to look at you for a long period of time
1 -
Iron Will is definitely one of the best perks in the game (hence its pick rate).
It also combos perfectly well with Dead Hard allowing you to have 2 health states while injured w/o making sounds - I have no trouble believing it helped you escape chases!

You do realise that's like saying "I shouldn't need to crouch in order to counter Hag" or "I shouldn't need to use LOS blockers to counter Deathslinger or Huntress".
This entire game is based around the idea of figuring out what your opposition has at their disposal and playing in accordance. If you can't even be bothered to look in another direction for a few seconds in order to easily counter a perk, maybe you should look at playing a different game.
4 -
Why do you need a perk to counter undetectable? You could just use your camera to look around. Would you like a noise notification when being stalked by Myers or Ghostface as well?
1 -
yes, thank you
1 -
Behaviour thinks that they can completely ignore complaints of one side while bending over backwards to the whims of the other without any consequence. Then they wonder why survivor queues are taking so long and why the game is bleeding players left and right.
1 -
But Spine Chill is literally a non-issue. If this thread were about a perk like CoH, practically everyone would be in agreement that the devs need to do something about it. But instead, this thread consists of people complaining about a perk that is hard countered by moving the camera a few degrees to the side.
3 -
Literally as someone who uses it
It can be countered hard by looking away and back or moonwalk as people tend to not move away unless the icon is lit up for a period of time I should know I'm one of those people lol
4 -
when you chase with spirit you have scratch marks and also sound and you can also use grass when available, you also know where the survivors WERE moments ago so you have an idea of where they could have gone, if you simply moonwalk to them you have no idea period of where they could be and so they could literally crouch next to you and you'd miss them because you were moonwalking.
Happy???
0 -
If it were a non-issue then it wouldn't be so popular now would it? You wanna know what a "non issue" is? Monstrous Shrine or Buckle Up. You don't see anybody using those, but you see plenty of people using spine chill.
0 -
No, but what perks* are good anti-stealth if we nerf Spine Chill?
1 -
It's a niche perk. Y'all act like it's game breaking.
5 -
You only scream when it doesn't matter, because that's when you're getting downed. Unless you're suggesting to play exclusively Doctor or Infectious Fright just to counter the perk.
1 -
true hell is spine chill even considered meta?
1 -
Popular? in my many games I only seen 20+ people other than me use it heck I've seen more no mither's* than spine chill
*not on david
