I would love Cross Save. Sony has a massive ego/superiority complex unfortunately.

you need the console manufacturer to be on board, not easy.

you know this game is 6 years old and I'm sure console manufacturer made a lot of money already.
this shouldn't have anything to do with money most want are outfit one from event or cost shards, are P3 characters maybe are devotion lvl
I said be willing to buy DLC again some I already have it twice.

Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo are the ones preventing cross progression to other platforms.

idk the specifics, but I bet it has everything to do with muney.

This would be nice especially if you ever make a switch.

Consoles don't want cross prog because they see it as losing a customer. They take a cut from everything you buy in dbd and get nothing if you move to pc.

mk and ubisoft recently did cross progression. there would be a number there somewhere

that what I don't care about the DLC shouldn't crossover just the progression
maybe the event outfits and charms thing you got using shards they lose no money.

I can guarantee it isn't a Microsoft issue. I say this all the time but BHVR doesn't even allow you to have cross-progression between DbD for Xbox Console and DbD for Xbox PC. Microsoft wouldn't lose anything from that since it all uses the same Xbox Live account and all of the purchases still go through Microsoft. The only reason there isn't cross-progression in at least that instance is because BHVR doesn't want to do it.

As we've said in the past, things like this are not solely down to us and as such we cannot promise that will ever happen. As we've seen with the cross progression for Switch it's a complicated situation with many factors involved. So we are unable to give an ETA on cross progression or even confirm if it will ever happen.

if it can’t be done with sony can it atleast be done with microsoft? they do it all the time with countless games. Even knowing that there’s an ongoing attempt to get access too it would be nice.

Is there any chance we can get an idea about what the difficulty is? I bought Stranger Things and cosmetics on Switch, including a cosmetics from a few rifts, but then switched over to one of the PC platforms. I get that the situation is complicated and you may not be able to give substantial details, but is this a thing where the issue is beyond BHVR's control but may still be possible or should we just give up hope that it will ever happen? I'm fine if it's the latter and would just go "well that sucks, whatever" but it's harder when we don't know how likely it is.
If it ends up being impossible to do full cross progression, is there a possibility we'll get partial cross progression with cosmetics or the possibility to do a one time transfer of cosmetics? I've already rebought most of the DLC when they're on sale since they aren't that expensive, but I can't re-get the rift cosmetics that I got previously.

We've not given up the hope of ever being able to offer cross progression, we have stated that there is a technical issue with Switch cross progression that we're trying to work out with our partners. We have also said that we will keep trying for cross progression on other platforms but it's a complicated process that may or may not happen as it's not something that's solely down to ourselves. There is nothing further that I can add to that I'm afraid.

I just want partial cross progression all dlc I'm willing to buy again
only thing I don't know how it work would be the rift

It's difficult because of course not everyone will feel the same and won't want to purchase all their characters again.
2 -
purchase DLC again small price for not having to grind the characters again.

How does cross-play exist when cross-progression doesn't?
0 -
Because they are two completely different things and are not related in the slightest.
The technical aspects of cross play are a lot less encompassing than those of cross progression.

True, but for me the more oppressive part is gaining all the levels, cosmetics (even just the ones earned via gameplay would be huge), and perks again. Relative to the investment of thousands of hours, the monetary cost of new characters is not really a big deal. Especially if you consider you can earn the original characters with iri shards.
I understand that this issue has a lot of nuance/complexity, in part due to platforms not wanting to lose out on their cut of sales (and I'm sure to factors that aren't readily apparent), but I don't see why it has to be all or nothing.
I see the same sort of thinking with the suggestion people have for implementing a practice mode. In the Q&A it was said that they don't want to do it until they can make it just right (optimizing bots for each killer, etc.), but really people just want anything they can get, and hearing that something won't be addressed unless it can be addressed comprehensively is really frustrating.
I recently bought the PC version of DBD (and all the paid characters) after putting in 1700+ hours on PS, but I just feel a bit despaired at the prospect of having to earn everything again.
I think that if nothing can really be done for any of it, a more detailed explanation as to why might help people accept it.

Is it because DbD is a game you have to buy as opposed to being f2p?
Apex Legends and YuGiOh Master Duel are both f2p games with bundles you can buy from both in game and the PSN store, and both have cross progression for both purchases and progress.

Sony hates crossplay and probably cross progression even more and charge companies for it so.. they're probably never getting it added. As for Microsoft who knows why they've not allowed it yet
