No new map, weak killer, another survivor reskin, forgettable perks. Nothing to really stay hyped over, unfortunately.

No new map. Chapters with new maps will always be better overall. Well if they had decent map/loop designers to begin with...

Yoshi and Onjero both have at least one perk I think will be rotated into meta. Parental Guidance and Call of Brine.

i like sadako a lot but the 3 month chapter release schedule sucks. it leads to rushed chapters and makes the new content forgettable as all hell because the next new thing is right around the corner.

*Sadako is a underwhelming killer on first impressions and the more you play with her, the more you discover how bad she is, like:
- TVs enters in a cooldown of 100 seconds (1m40s) after you project to them. Yes, you need to wait this long to use your only power.
- Circle of Healing.
- Nothing for chases.
- She doesn't have a power that you need to learn for 1~4 week to master it, like Nurse,Blight,Artist,Deathslinger,Huntress,etc.
- She has a lullaby when demanifested, making her stealth almost useless.
- If you see any streamer playing her like: Otz, Umbra, Zubat, etc. You can see that everyone that plays her, just get the first hook after 2~3 gens pops on most scenarios.
- Sadako already become a Twins/Hillbilly situation for me, it's easier to get a Artist than her in my matches.
*Yoshi is just...another survivor with...another perks.
*No new map.
All of this makes this chapter feels like a mediocre one overall (excluding sound effects and music, they are amazing as always).

It always feels that way. It happens because of the ptb that shows everything off ahead of the actual chapter launch. And it sucks either way. Either have the ptb spoil the hype for the chapter, or don't have a ptb and witness the most unbalanced buggy launch for a chapter you've ever seen.

i think her lullaby is fine. and ive been playing her a lot. its VERY VERY quiet and most survivors will never notice it, especially since it gets covered up by, hook death noises, gen noises, boon noises, and healing noises. really anything actually

Sadako:
- Isn't scary due to her height + goofy movements.
- Has one of the weakest powers in the game surpassing Trickster.
- Terrible design + modelling (yes including her Outfit).
- Okay perks, but every killer has one redeemable perk.
- Boring as gameplay.
- Was hyped WAY too early.
Yoichi:
- Completely original despite being in a licensed chapter (yes BHVR scammed people for this).
- Very bland design with not a single aspect representing his Japanese heritage (unlike Yui).
- A mishmash of previous perks for his kit that doesn't do too much.
- REALLY bland backstory. Not even worth reading.
So yeah, this chapter is on the same level of A Binding of Kin in my books. I would've added All-Kill, but at least All-Kill had great writing.
This chapter just sucks in all aspects.

Yoichi isn't original, the ring that's used ingame is the original manga one and he's a child in that iirc. DbD takes place a bit into their futures, and odd kind of sequel ig

There is no "manga" line for Ringu. It's just a novel and a couple of movies (which Yoichi was first introduced).
Yoichi is basically DBD's take on Yoichi Asakawa from the movies (1 & 2) but way in the future.
Meaning, everything that happened beyond Ringu 2 is what DBD came up with, which makes him more original than anybody in this game that's licensed.

Given that Call of the Brine is pretty much the only relevant part of the chapter for either side from this chapter.
Mind you all it does is more or less makes kicking generators work as intended at slowing down the match slightly; making it nothing more then yet another band-aid perk for a broken base mechanic.
5 out of 6 perks have more or less failed to do anything and the new killer is(No pun intended) dead on arrival.

And that's so stupid. Yeah, I know that the RIng franchise is kind of a joke as in 2022 like the Hellraiser series, but making DBD's Ringu canon?
That's ridiculous.
How low did the franchise fall to the point where an indie video game can dictate the design decisions of the story's characters? Shame Suzuki. For shame.

The ONLY reason why I think Ringu was added to DBD is to capitalize DBD's popularity in Japan. They did it with before with Spirit, Yui, Oni and they want more with Ringu.
DBD is super popular in Japan. It's popular in Korea too but they only got one chapter out of it due having a smaller scale than Japan. DBD is illegal in China so...
Like you said, Ringu is popular in Japan, DBD is popular in Japan, Popularity = money so that's how I think things went.
Problem is, they did such a terrible job that the chapter seems really rushed and unfinished. To the point where other terrible chapters seem redeemable.
On top of that, if DBD Ringu is canon, then the Japanese and DBD are far too blind for hype and money than dignity.

Doesn't help when less than a week after release streamers are doing anniversary chapter prediction videos. Chapters are rushed out far too quicky imo, quicky sucking the hype out of the last one.
Would love a map chapter in which we got 4 new maps instead of a killer and 6 more perks.

They released one of the worst killers in the game in terms of how strong she is in dbd,and didn't adress the issues people keep complaining about,so yeah,it went fast.

There are 26 killers, all chapters will feel like they die off quickly.
With 26 killers the average pick rate is 3.84 percent. Even if the new killer is 3 times more popular than average, it means only around 12%. So you will see the new killer only in every 9th game on average even if she is 3 times more popular then the rest of the killers.

Yep. There was nothing really interesting about this chapter. No new map, boring and forgettable perks, a forgettable survivor, a weak killer. Nothing to keep interest.
