What was the point of calling this game "Dead by Daylight"?

I think the Devs originally wanted to have the matches with a countdown timer in which the daylight (sunrise) may own the killer and end the match, but then suddenly they noticed that was dumb or unbalanced, but the name was already there lol

dont u think?

I always thought the name comes from the same concept behind its catchphrase "Death is not an escape". Daylight never shines in the realm, which means that Survivors never reach true death.

The moon is out during the trial, never day, so all the survivors would possibly die for real when the day appears, and the camp fire looks like the sun too, but its just a theory (A GAME THEORY)

We've been shown very early development footage, way earlier than what you'd even call an alpha. There wasn't ever a timer for trials.

It has something to do with the game's perpetual night, only bordering to dusk and dawn.

Because it sounds cool;) I saw a show the other day on tv called dead by dawn. I immediately thought they probably wanted it to be dead by daylight but couldn't because of this game hehe.

Yep, that's me. I'll turn this into a meme or get the devs to talk on stream about NASCAR and DbD.
Or at least I'll die trying.  :p

Pretty sure she has more important things to be doing than asking Mcote irrelevant questions.

Think of it as a light at the end of the tunnel that’s never gonna be reached. Even if they do reach the end, it’s too late.
