Console Lag or Game Lag?
Quick question to my fellow console ppl, do u notice how every time a gen pops the game freezes for a slight second, and sometimes when I am in game people just literally disappear out frames and dodge outta sight, PS4 is unexcusably broken and unfortunately while i have a PC that performs optimally all my progress is locked on a bricked version of the game, is it just me or is console really bad? Another consistent problem is the notifications not making any sounds.

Console has been bad for too long and nothing’s been done to fix it despite all of us doing our part to try to fix the problem.

At this point you really need next gen console to play the game without any issues. I played on Xbox one X for a long time and bought a series X a few months ago and it's 100 times better. Still isn't perfect but it feels significantly better to play.

If the game and DLC is being sold for money on last gen consoles, then it should work without issues on those formats; it’s inexcusable.
It looks especially bad when next gen games like Horizon Forbidden West and Elden Ring look and run way better on last gen systems than DbD and are a lot bigger in scale of the world plus the in game systems in place.
DbD is a very basic game that has just been neglected performance wise in favour of piling new content on top of broken and outdated foundations.
The just upgrade excuse is tired and as you say, it doesn’t even run without issues there either. The new consoles have only been out a short time and it’s just a matter of time before things get bad on the new consoles too. What will you do then except wait 5+ years for a new upgrade to come out?
We don’t even have cross progression to switch formats and even if so that’s not a good enough answer when the game is still being sold on formats it’s known not to work very well on. I feel sorry for Switch players tbh as things are bad enough for me to stop playing on my old standard base PS4.

Unhooks cause my game to freeze for a second on PS4. Very annoying

The number of times I'm looping the killer in a tense moment and freeze for a good second which would cost me the chase is extremely infuritaitng. I'm just hoping cross-progression would happen soon, but who knows.

I won´t wait for it.
I also get stutters and hick up freezes everytime a lot of events are happening.

We call that optimization.

During some actions/perks yeah.
The surv is ok now compared to dark times but playing some killers is painful because freezes during their powers can cost you a game.

Exactly my thing regarding lag spikes, most times it gives uber windows for distance between the killer and survivors that just results in systemic failure

The game has been very glitchy for consoles recently. It's not as bad as it was after RE Chapter, but even after their patch, it's definitely had a noticeable decline in the recent releases to where specific animations completely drop FPS and cause lag spikes. I'm sure someone like @Pulsar may have more to chime in with.

My thoughts exactly. Well said. Console performance is absolutely inexcusable. After this long, they still get away neglecting the issue too.

If they are selling the game on Xbox One and PS4, it should WORK on Xbox One and PS4.
I did not think this was too much to ask for.
@topic yes, console performance has remained an issue despite our best efforts. BHVR has assured us they are working on it. Whether or not you believe them is up to you.

bad optimization is still a thing, even on pc.
