Is Legion's m1 penalty necessary?
I mean, of course not, but I want to ask, with the Legion update in the next mid-chapter, will this penalty get removed? I don't see a point in it other than to limit an already limited power that cannot reliably down people.
It's a relic from the first time the Legion was released and I think with the Legion's update it's time to remove it completely, since it doesn't serve any gameplay purpose other than to prevent m1 to m2 combo??? Which wouldn't actually help with anything really.

You don't see the problem? That Legion wouldn't be counterable for survivors. Legion gets a free hit with his power... what do you think would happen if he didn't have a penalty after cancelling his power? The survivor would go down whatever he does.

I think he's talking about how when you M1 a survivor when your power is on cooldown it increases the cooldown.

As you said, the penalty only made sense with original Legion. This was just one of several reasons I gave up on Legion. Hopefully the upcoming revamp makes them fun again, because as it is, the character is more or less just a cosmetic dispensary for the weebs.

I mean the only reason why it's probably there is so that you can't injure someone with M1 and then M2 someone else or more people.
But that seems like a dumb reason so yeah, it doesn't need to be there.

The devs love cooldowns and every killer must have one by 2023. That's the only thing i can think of.

I am going to miss going for 10+ feral frenzy stabs though.
I welcome some quality of life tweaks to Legion but will miss going for that. Its fun.

I would love if we could stab survs to death. Like every hit on an already hit target doesn't prolong frenzy but stabbing someone again doesn't end frenzy and then the perk that lowers deep wound timer for every stab gets base kit

well plague has everyone injured with almost no effort to it, why should legion not be able to get people easily injured aswell? the penalty just makes you chase the person you just injured, which is a boring restriction

I think you misunderstood OP, we're talking about the penalty which puts your power on cooldown after you M1 someone, not the ability stun

Honestly removing that penalty and the penalty for picking up someone while frenzy is active are the two things I wanted most from Legions update. I have no idea why them getting removed didn't get mentioned in the dev blog.
If those changes aren't in the patch notes when those eventually come out, I'm going to be rather upset.

Legion doesn't magically auto damage your. I wish people would stop saying Legion gets free hits like people don't juke Legion attacks all the time?

Why should the Legion lose part of their power gauge whenever they hit someone outside of Feral Frenzy tho?

You will notice one major thing when it comes to Legion threads,... people have PTSD from him, they hate him. They want him removed from the game basically. The changes made to Legion were simply punishment to please the masses when he was gutted. No changes will be accepted by that majority, they are fueled by their own trauma and simply despise the killer in general.
They do not even think rationally about these changes, and the people working on him behind the scenes, probably werent even around when he was punsihed with these nerfs so they see them as how he is.

The only reason I can think of why it’d still be there is so that you can’t m1 somebody, then immediately frenzy to catch up to them and then cancel your power and follow up with another m1.
Is that necessary? I’m not sure and I’d kinda like to test legion without it.

They have a massive stun if they exit frenzy. You should be able to reach anything within that time.

We all know DBD has an extremely low retention rate and people get burnt out quickly. Out of the 20K players who were there when Legion released on PC, how many do you think are here today especially after the disaster that was Darkness AMONG US?
It might not be 95%, but the majority of players playing then are not playing now. That's not exactly a stretch

No. It's not.
If you M1 a survivor, Frenzy, and try to bodyblock. You'll fatigue, they have a window get away, and you'll accomplish nothing.
If you Frenzy and body block, then you'll fatigue, and you'll get nothing cuz they'll run across the map. Even with 3 seconds, this is all that'll happen.
It ultimately does nothing except get rid of the niche situations where you might want to Frenzy after downing a survivor.

I do not debate over stats that neither of us has.
Fact is, Legion remains one of the most hated killers in the game. And "new players" have NO reason to hate him, so your stats indicate they are not correct due to the hate he gets continuously from Legion PTSD.
If all those players are gone, then why is "Old Legion" still comoplained about, pretty much daily in all DBD forums?

I haven't seen many people complain.
Certainly seen people be concerned over him returning. Likewise, Forums tend to attract the veteran players not the new ones. Your viewpoint is heavily skewed towards people who WERE there.
The Forums make up a tiny percentage of the community

it's a dumb mechanic but it not being mentioned in the initial announcement detailing their power changes doesn't give me very high hopes
