Block option
It’d be nice to have an option to block players so you don’t play with or against them again. Just spent 10 minutes loading into a game only for everyone to be face camped and then they disconnect so no value on doing gens etc, felt like a massive waste of time.
if I could make a blacklist of camping killers and survs that dc so I don’t have to meet them again it’d honestly make matchmaking miles better.
Either that or a casual playlist or something so killers don’t feel the need to camp and survivors that dc get replaced with bots like rocket league?

The game already has a very little amount of killers compared to survivors so blocking the remaining ones will cause you to get insanely longer queue times.

it’s a simple suggestion in aid to block campers, cheaters, disconnects or a casual playlist would be a nice start.
No need for anyone to be hostile etc, just here for a chill discussion on the subject :)

Back before dedicated servers there was a mod that people used to block high level killers and then those people had long queue times.
It simply will not work without punishing people with long queue times for simply playing the game.

No one is being hostile. Im asking because i doubt you have a lot of hours in dbd. If you did, you would understand why exactly this is a bad idea. It would act only as a bandaid fix, and then be abused by everyone else. These are the same reasons why they cant slow down hook progression while being camped because survivors would take advantage and loop by the hook. Infact it has happened.
I do how ever believe that people who are so quick to play the victim card, probably should self evaluate situations and realize "no one is out to get me". I also feel like you know you dont have a lot of hours, so you just wanted to avoid the question by playing a victim card screaming "he is being hostile".

I assume the block option he is talking about would be similar to Overwatches where you have a limit to how many people you can block which would be maybe 2-3 killers and 4 survivors.

Haha I play solo q but I can definitely see where you’re coming from with swf, I’ve had a game with friends and it made the whole experience easier on our end it was definitely unfair for the killer

Blocking would be moot if Behaviour suppressed the names of everyone until after the Trial concluded. There is no need for The Killer to see the usernames in the lobby. If no names were visible, no one could dodge or harass players across several trials.

Old XBOX LIVE had a feature like this - on user profiles you could say 'prefer not to play with this person' and matchmaking would be biased to keep you apart regardless of circumstance.

Easily abuseable. Anyone that's good at the game or playing efficiently will be punished by having long queues due to sore losers

This was a thing when a program called MLGA was popular. "Make Lobbies Great Again"
know what happened? Survivors made block lists of all Freddys, Legions, Billys,... Nurse etc,... and blocked them all then shared the lists and those players couldnt get matches.
Like anything, players abuse it, so answer is,... nope.

Also i dont understand why the block option is limited, once you reach the limit you can’t block anyone and also you have no way to unblock someone, unless you get them in lobby. Xd

No. I am pretty sure you are so far proving their point. It was a dumb question, and you're being salty now for being called out on it. I know quite a few people with lots of hours in the game and still think that blocking someone actually does something to the matchmaking. This game really doesn't teach players much the longer they play, that only happens if someone takes it upon themselves to actually research the information.

What if the block list reset daily and you had limited use? This way you could avoid cheats etc, but killers aren’t penalised long term if for example they get blocked for good plays?
Least killers could also use this for gen hackers as well so at least they know they won’t bump into the same person that day after reporting them.
Or what are your thoughts on a casual playlist, E.g no rank and less to little bp?
I know a lot of killer mains hate survivors using meta perks and I’d honestly love to use something other than that in a less sweaty game mode haha, would be nice to see everyone chucking in a bit of variety

If it was a daily reset and you could only block a maximum of 3-5 players, it'd probably be fine.
A casual mode wouldn't work in DbD. No one likes the meta, so everyone will just flock to the casual mode and that will then become the "competitive mode"

Step 1: Block X number of players...
Step 2: Complain that match-making is taking too long, because the system keeps finding matches where you and the blocked players are compatible, and then chucking you out because you don't want to play with them
Step 3: Complain that MMR is broken because now you're going against killers that are too easy/difficult, because the system is just back-filling you into other lobbies to give you a game, because the games it wanted to give you involved people you didn't want to play with

Playing without the meta on both sides sucks. I doubt the new MMR will do anything, but you never know, especially when it comes to the DbD devs. They're more unpredictable than a Survivor trying to dodge a Huntress Hatchet

I'd be okay with it if it has a cap of like 5 or 10 and that way you have to add/remove the most vile/toxic players.
That way you wont just have people blocking everyone that beats them
