I'm trying to get my friend into dead by daylight. What do I say
I'm trying to get my friend into trying out and potentially playing dead by daylight. I think she would really enjoy it. What do I say and do you think she would like it?

Why would you subject a friend to such cruelty?

Unless she is down with the toxic she might not be into it. I am assuming you are not close lol. Honestly though if you want her to play let her try it out on your account first so she can get a taste before biting off.
1 -
Tell her that she has been spared for too long
Just kidding, if she likes horror characters try and convince her to try out her favorite character and see how it goes
5 -
i wouldn't recommend this game atm to even my enemies, save her the suffering and misery
or you could let her try the game on your account
8 -
Tell her all her favourite horror icons are bullied by 4 survivors who have more power than the killer.
She'll soon NOT want to play it.

Right now?
I'd say...wait a few months.
As things stand, the three problems with the game that make it hard to recommend are:
- The grind
- The community
- The matchmaking
The community...BHVR don't especially interested in fixing, but apparently the former is getting a big fix soonish and the latter will have significant adjustments any day now.
Hold off for now.

Maybe wait until they announce the measures to lessen the ridiculous grind.
Anecdotal evidence but I got my sister to buy dbd last year during the anniversary while it was on sale and even with the bp bonus she said the grind made the game really unfun.

TEll her to use noed and camp the first surv to death. When finally she plays against good swf she can come here to complain about dh

Tell her the gameplay is unique and she probably never played something like it, also warn her the grinding is substantial and the first games are going to end with her dying on a hook.
5 -
tell him if he hates himself that will do it
0 -
Tell her that the most dangerous killer the game has is a little old nurse

You can label it as the most popular horror asymmetrical game of all time. Nothing even comes close. When you're starting out, it's a lot of fun, and if she gets it on sale for $10, she will get her money's worth even if she only plays for 20 hours. At the very least, she can say she tried it to see if that type of game is for her.
Duo with her for a while and don't focus on the grind. A lot of new players just want to have fun and not think about the negative, right off the bat.

Try and sell her survivor. You'll have far more luck.
Also if shes a horror fan thatd help a bunch!
You can also say it's a pretty easy game to get the hang of and theres no aiming or overly complicated movement like other games? If shes not a huge gamer before hand
2 -
Tell her pyramid head can fight off leon and Laurie strode.
1 -
Good luck. Most of my friends who started playing with me did not play for long because of the ridiculous grind. And that was a few years ago - it’s that much worse now

Be a good friend and don't get your friend into dbd.
4 -
You do have a point. Maybe it is best to wait

At this current state?
I wouldn't recommend it. Grind is too much, the community is iffy, and most of the characters are locked behind a pay-wall or grind-wall.
Yeah no.

Is she really your friend? ;) Did she do something to upset you?

I was going to let her play on my account. Since I have all the survivors and most of the killers unlocked. I only play survivor so the killer would probably have low mmr
0 -
No she is a great friend.
1 -
...would you do something like that to a friend?!
5 -
Idk I thought she would enjoy it. Am I a terrible friend for considering it?
0 -
I would say them
"I have such sights to show you"
2 -
You are not supposed to play Pig in real life.
0 -
Survs just need bats and a shotgun like on f13 just go down the basement as Ash and start shootings those killers!
0 -
Solo Q her, unless you like her, in which case killer with meta perks
0 -
Whenever i try to convince my friends to play DbD with me, they get face camped or land in a flashlight SWF lobby as killer. After that experiecne they ask me, whats wrong with me and uninstall. (true story)
One of the reasons why i always play solo.
4 -
Tell her that she can pick Leatherface and beat survivors on hook to farm vitriolic messages to brighten her day.
2 -
Not sure you’re even friends now if you want them to play DbD.. but you may not be after if they decide to play! 😥

Even with low MMR your friend will quickly get matched with pro-level survivors because SBMM doesn’t work. To reduce survivor queue times, the matchmaking system will take any killer available regardless of MMR score

hahah can relate, I don’t recommend the game anymore to friends
1 -
If she likes horror movie characters and thinks the idea of what is basically a game of tag with meat hooks sounds fun then she’d probably like it. 🙂

My homie got bullied into becoming a survivor main, and then quit because he kept getting toxic teammates. Lul. I feel bad for ever getting him into it.
1 -
rip, that’s how killer mains are born man

Weird take, but let her savour the first few hours where the game is fresh and scary, after afew hours that dips and its the game the rest of us know and love to hate. Maybe let her play without perks at first to really capture the fear factor, then give her a decent perk, then a stronger one.
As for killer, try and pickout afew killers you think shed like and let her play afew rounds. Or better yet. Let her try every killer, personally I wasn't expecting to find Artist fun when I tried her last week but I've been playing her nonstop all week. Unexpected. It boils down to preference really but she may be suprised to find say...oni alot of fun
That's all, hope your friend has fun trying the game and welcome to the community!
And if she stays, may the entity have mercy on her soul, because matchmaking won't...

Tell them they will suffer but at least they won't enjoy it. :)

I'd tell them to "go play something else", maybe they should try Civilization, i've heard its a great game!

You hate your friend that much? yikes.

Tell her that you have such sights to show her.

I don't even know what keeps me here to much time in the game I guess.

I actively try and convince as many people as possible to not play this game. Why would you not do the same? Are you sadistic?
